The most beautiful thing for a werewolf is to find a mate. Especially for those who met their mate at a young age. Similar to Griselda and Oryn. Charis is also fast at finding her mate, even though her mate is a human. Many werewolves met their mates when they were hundreds of years old.
Even though she was confused, why did the Moon Goddess give her a human mate? But Charis should be thankful because she met her mate at the right time when her younger cousin was planning to get rid of her.
Charis received information from Griselda, who had been watching Emric's suspicious movements recently, and there was news of Emric's rising desire to take over her leadership.
Charis sat on the edge of the bed, staring at Draven's face, which was still unconscious. "Vesper."
"What?" Vesper sat in the chair from the dressing table. He made Draven pass out so Charis and the others would leave his house and he could continue playing the game, but Charis asked him to come along since Charis needed his help carrying Draven up to Charis' room. He had to ask Charis for a lot of money because she was so annoying today.
"Why hasn't Draven woken up yet? It had been almost two hours." Charis is worried. What was wrong with Draven?
"Did you use a spell to make passed out of him?" Griselda asked Vesper, who was scratching his head because it was itchy.
Vesper looked at Griselda, who was standing by the window. "Yeah. He will wake up in a minute." He replied curtly.
Griselda and Charis both snorted. That explains why Draven didn't get up.
Charis looked back at Draven. Her brain was thinking, what should she do after Draven woke up? Did she announce it immediately if she had found her mate and introduced Draven to the pack members?
"He's handsome. He deserves to be a playboy. He uses his handsome face to get women." Aria commented on Draven's face, she was fascinated, but she still didn't like Draven.
Charis smiled. "Are you starting to like him?" She teased her wolf.
Aria rolled her eyes. "No. I just complimented his face."
Charis chuckled. She held her pounding chest. Does her fast beating heart indicate that she likes Draven? Or is this a natural reaction that all werewolves feel when they meet a mate? Possible.
"Charis." Madison sat next to her daughter, looking at Draven with smiling lips. Her daughter has found her mate. Hopefully, Draven is a good man and can love her daughter with all his heart.
"Why, Mom?" Charis looked at her mother.
"Are you planning to introduce Draven today?" Madison looked at her daughter's confused face.
"I'd like to do it, but is Draven ready and willing?" Charis bites her bottom lip. She asked Aria, but Aria left all the decisions to her because Aria believed in her.
"We do have to think about Draven's feelings. But what's more important is you. How about you? Are you prepared for the possibilities that will happen? Whether it's good or bad." Madison gripped Charis's hand tightly, giving her strength.
"Whatever decision you make, I will always support you. You know me, don't you?" Griselda smiled, calming the agitated Charis.
"Whenever it is, you have to announce it. Ready or not." Vesper shrugged his shoulders.
Charis nodded. She would not allow bad thoughts to overwhelm her. She will always step forward, even though many stand in her way. She was used to seeing the pack members giving her disdainful looks. Now that she had found her mate, she had already come this far, so she would not give up until the end. "I'll announce it."
"My head is so dizzy." Draven groaned, annoyed. He was shocked to see Charis sitting in front of him. His eyes roamed around. There was Madison, Griselda, and Vesper. Then he saw himself sleeping on the bed. He looked at Charis. "Where am I?"
"In my bedroom," Charis replied calmly. "In the Garnet Pack. Our residence. From today onwards, you will live here."
Draven frowned. His mind processed Charis' words. "What do you mean?" He didn't get it. This was very hard to understand. "Why do I have to stay here?"
Charis closes her eyes. Oh my God. Hasn't she already told the man that he was her mate? Why is Draven still asking?
Madison looked at Griselda and Vesper. It was as if they were communicating through their eyes. Then they left Charis' room, giving Charis space to tell Draven until everything was clear.
Charis dropped her eyes to the floor. She's confused. How would she tell Draven that her younger cousin wanted her position as leader?
Draven sat down, and he watched Charis with glaring eyes. Still can't believe, the beautiful woman is a werewolf and can transform into a wolf. Charis looked normal, like a normal human. She's so good at hiding her identity.
Charis turned her body to Draven, looking into Draven's gray eyes that looked confused. "I'm confused about how to explain it to you …."
"You kidnapped me." Draven looked at Charis sharply. "You forced me to stay here. Can't you give me some time to think and pack? I should also call my parents, so they don't worry."
Charis lowered her head. "I'm sorry. I know I was wrong, but I have to take you. I know I'm selfish. But I have no other choice."
Draven leaned back while folding his arms. He chased away all the bad thoughts that filled his head. He would try to think positively about Charis and this place. But honestly, he was scared to death. How about if it turns out that Charis is lying about mate or something, "Tell me everything. Why can't you give me time to think and kidnap me?" After hearing Charis' explanation, he would conclude, was she telling the truth or lying? And is it okay for him to trust that woman?
Charis grimaced. Did she kidnap Draven? That's right. She kidnapped the man. She has committed no crime. No, she had her reasons. Draven was her mate. Draven's place is right here at Garnet Pack.
"This place is a Garnet Pack. It's in another dimension. Garnet Pack portal doors are connected to the human world through the city of Chicago. We often go in and out of portal doors for various reasons." Charis explained the simplest thing.
Draven's brow furrowed. Garnet Packs? Another dimension? Portal door? Everyone knew he was smart, but he had difficulty understanding what Charis was saying. "Okay, assuming I understand. So, you've been among humans all this time?"
"Yes." Charis nods.
Draven scratched his nose. Does that mean he's probably ever met or chatted with a werewolf?
"After my father died one year ago, I am the leader of the Garnet Pack. Because I am an only child, before he died, my father made a will, he gave me the leadership, and if I have found my mate, the leadership will automatically fall into the hands of my mate." Charis studied Draven's surprised face.
"You're a leader?" Draven was a little skeptical.
"Yes." Charis nodded. "But the higher-ups and pack members don't believe me, and they look down on me. Because I'm a woman." She lowered her head with all ten intertwined fingers. "I need my mate so I can maintain this leadership. I don't want the Garnet Pack to be led by anyone else, including my younger cousin."
Draven held his breath. He massaged the bridge of his nose, and his head was very dizzy. Charis not only made him dizzy because she said he was her mate and Charis was a werewolf—a mythical creature that he had always considered a joke. "So the reason you forced me here is that I am your mate, and you need me to secure your position as a leader in the Garnet Pack?" Isn't Charis very selfish?
Charis looks at Draven flatly. "Did you forget? I already told you, if I've found my mate. I will give my mate the lead."
"What?" Draven is so shocked that his heart stops beating. Everything Charis said sounded strange to him. "How did I become the werewolf world's leader? I who was just a human?"
"Not in the world of werewolves. You are the Garnet Pack's leader." Charis licked her dry lips. Did she need to tell Draven about the other pack of werewolves? No, not just now. That would only stress Draven even more. "You are my mate, but it looks like we can't get married if you are still human."
Draven glared. "You mean? I turn into a werewolf?"
