Nora's POV
Waking up to the feel of a soft pillow beneath my head and the pleasant smell in the air, I pulled the bedsheets closer in delight as I let on a smile, feeling how delightful the morning was.
"God... This is wonderful." I moaned into the pillow as I squeezed myself into it.
I haven't had such a good sleep in a long time.
I almost didn't want to get up. Until I realized this wasn't my bed.
"What— Where am I?" I asked myself as I quickly sat up, my back bumping against the headboard.
"You're finally awake." A guttural voice spoke from a distance, startling me.
I instinctively pulled the bedsheets close as a shield as I turned to see the man's back turned against me, flipping through some pages in a book.
Then I remembered what happened last night.
"It's you." I said. "W—What did you do to me? Where did you take me? Are you going to kill me?"
I had so many questions and they kept pouring out one after the other as the man calmly stood there, minding his business.
Then he slowly turned towards me and I saw how handsome he was. He had long hair, flowing down his face and a stubble that made him look like a character from a fictional story.
"If I wanted you dead, I would have killed you by now." He stated plainly as he took to his seat and crossed his legs.
"You shouldn't have seen what you saw last night." The man added. "And that has made you a liability."
"P—Please... I swear I won't tell anyone. Please let me go." I pleaded.
"No." He said, and I panicked a little, hearing the determination in his tone.
Not knowing what to do, I decided to raise a bluff.
"If my people find out I've gone missing... They will come looking for me. And they will find you." I threatened. "So you better let me go now."
Closing his book, the man lets out a laugh as he looks up again at me.
"Your people?" He asked.
"Yes, my people." I replied.
"Nora, no one is coming to save you." He then said, and my heart skipped a beat.
"How did you know my name? Who are you?" I asked.
"I know everything about you." He said, quietly, as he went back to his book. "And I know no one will come looking for you if you go missing."
"Please..." I said, slowly, afraid that he was actually right. "Please, let me go. I swear—I swear I won't tell anyone anything. I swear on my life."
"You know what?" He then said. "I think I'll keep you for a while before deciding what to do with you."
"What are you going to do to me?"
"Whatever I want." He replied, and then finally got up and started walking towards the bed.
I moved away from him instinctively as I imagined he would try to forcefully have his way with me.
I've heard stories about girls who got kidnapped by dangerous men and I've read all that happened to them. They were turned into s*x slaves and were made into their play things.
Is this one of those stories? Am I going to be just like them?
I couldn't stay my mind as I began to think of every possibility.
"You said you know everything about me." I said, finally. "Then why won't you let me go? You should already know I have nothing to gain from telling anyone what I saw."
"Like I said, you have become a liability." The man replied. "And maybe because I'd like to keep you to myself and have some... fun. I'm a little bored."
"I'm not a tool you can just keep or use to kill your boredom."
"You are if I say you are." He said, stroking his hair backwards.
"Come here." He then commanded as he approached the bed again and I shifted away from him instinctively.
"Don't come any closer!" I warned quickly, putting up my guard.
"Are you going to fight me, Nora?" The man asked, stopping for a moment.
"I will if I have to." I answered, confidently. "And tell me, how did you know my name?"
The man lets out a laugh, amused by my sudden bravery before finally stepping away and walking towards the wardrobe in the room.
I hadn't noticed it till now but there was a dress neatly hung at its door.
Reaching for it, the man approached the bed again and stretched the dress towards me.
"Here." He said, and I reached for it slowly, careful not to get too close just in case he wants to grab me by the hand and pull me close.
"Go clean yourself up and get ready for breakfast. I'll have my men bring you down in a little while."
I was surprised by the sudden change in behavior and I didn't hesitate to ask as I thought this was a trick.
"I don't understand." I said to the man before he reached for the door. "You're not going to touch me?"
"Do you want me to touch you?"
"No, no." I responded quickly, and then he turned and got ready to continue walking out.
"Don't keep me waiting." He said, before finally leaving the room.
Dropping the dress, I searched frantically for my phone, hoping it was in my pockets so I could dial 911 or maybe call Taylor to tell her what had happened to me.
But the phone was nowhere to be found.
"Oh no..." I moaned as I realized the man must have taken it from me after last night's incident.
It wasn't long after that I heard a knock right before 3 armed men walked into the room.
"Are you ready ma'am?" One of them asked.
"Uh, no." I answered, finally reaching for the dress again. "Give me 10 minutes."
"We'll be right outside." They said, with a nod and finally stepped out to give me some privacy.
I couldn't tell which one scared me the most: the fact that I was in an unknown place without having a phone to call for help, or the fact that I had witnessed a murder and was about having breakfast with the Killer.
I finally had a shower and got dressed before calling for the men.
They were very respectful towards me, as they led me down the corridor, considering the caliber of men I knew they were.
I didn't realize where we were at first until we reached the ground floor.
This was a castle.
"Woah..." I mouthed, subconsciously, as I took in the view of the place.
This man might be a killer but he sure has taste.
"The Boss is waiting for you at the table." The first man said, as he walked me towards the dining area.
The man had changed into something different now and hasn't touched his food yet.
The moment he caught a glimpse of me, I noticed his expression shift for a second before returning back to his calm demeanor.
"You took too long." He said, as I finally reached him.
I was just about to throw him a good come bacm when one of his men came to him.
He whispered something in his ears and I could tell from his expression that something had happened. And then the man nodded and walked away after they finished their conversation.
And finally, he spoke again.
"Nora, relax." He said. "I'm not going to hurt you."
"Then why won't you let me go?"
"You were never my captive to begin with." The man said. "Once you're done with your meal you'll be free to go."
"You said you would 'keep' me."
"I changed my mind." The man replied.
I sat there speechless for a moment as I wondered if this was a trick.
"Is this a trick?" I finally asked, and he paused his food before looking at me.
"If I wanted to trick you, you would be naked in my bed right now and now here." He said, casually.
Okay, I did not see that coming.
"And eat your food." He added. "My men will be taking you home soon."
"You know where I live?"
"I told you before: I know everything about you." He answered.
"Who are you?"
"Call me Wolf." Wolf answered.
"Wolf?"
"Is it too difficult for you to pronounce?"
"Uhm, no." I replied. "I'm just surprised."
"Why?"
"It's not a real name." I said, and 'Wolf' lets on a smirk before going back to his food.
I still imagined this was some kind of trick but it wasn't.
I started eating and when I finished, I thanked him for the food right before he called 3 of his men and ordered them to take me home.
"Report to me once she's safe." He ordered and they nodded.
"Yes, Boss." They said, in unison.
One of the men finally handed my phone back to me before leaving the table and as we were heading for the door, Wolf called to me and gave a parting word.
"Nora?" He called, "Stay out of trouble."
