The snow shook under us when the Abyssal Lion King forced me against the tree.

His thigh slid between mine.

My ears turned pink and trembled uncontrollably.

“You are soaking through your clothes for me” he murmured against my throat.

“You were born to be hunted.”

I should have fought him.

Instead I moaned.

And now three monsters want to finish what he started.

CHAPTER ONE: Taken in the Snow by the Alpha King
The forest should have been freezing, yet heat pulsed beneath my skin as I ran. My breath rose in soft white clouds. My ears twitched with every sound, their snowy fur shivering at the slightest touch of wind. They betrayed everything. Every flicker of fear. Every hint of something warmer curling in the pit of my stomach. Then the night fell silent. Silent in a way that made the air thicken. A deep growl rose behind me. It vibrated through the trees, through the snow beneath my boots, through my bones. My ears shot upright and burned at the tips. A gasp escaped me before I could stop it. Something approached. Slow. Heavy. Certain. A breath warmed the back of my neck. I turned. The Alpha King stood only a few steps away. Kaelan. Moonlight caught on his dark armor and the fur that lined his shoulders. His body radiated heat that curled through the cold air. His golden eyes glowed like molten metal fixed on prey. His gaze dropped to my twitching ears. He inhaled once, slow and controlled, as if tasting something rare. “So this is what wanders my mountains.” His voice stirred the air. “A girl with dawn white ears.” My back pressed against a tree before I realized I was moving. He followed without hurry, the steady pace of someone who knew I would not escape him. His hand closed around my wrist. Heat shot through me so suddenly my knees weakened. My breath hitched. My ears trembled violently at the base. “Let me go.” I hated how weak my voice sounded. “No.” His tone was quiet, final. “Your scent is far too unique.” His thumb pressed lightly along the inside of my wrist. My pulse leapt. My blush deepened. My thighs drew together in an instinctive attempt to hide what stirred inside me. He noticed. “You tremble,” he murmured, golden eyes lowering to the small movement of my thighs. “And not from cold.” My body betrayed me. I felt warmth pool low in my belly, humiliating and sharp. I shook my head as if that could hide the truth. “I am not…” “You are,” he whispered, leaning close enough that I felt the heat of his breath against my cheek. “Your body speaks plainly.” His hand slid from my wrist to my waist. Slow. Certain. A claiming touch. My spine arched under the weight of it. Heat poured through me uncontrollably. My thighs pressed tighter. My breath came faster. “You respond beautifully.” His lips hovered close to my ear. “So sensitive.” My face burned. “I am not.” He smiled against my hair, dark and pleased. “Little Mira. You are warm enough to scent from a distance.” I gasped in mortification, but my body reacted again. My ears pressed flat, trembling at the base. He saw everything. Kaelan stepped closer. His thigh brushed between mine. Soft. Slow. Purposeful. My breath fractured. My legs parted before my mind could protest. His thigh slid higher. My hips jerked. Heat spilled through me in a wave so intense I nearly cried out. “You feel that,” he murmured. “All from a single touch.” “I do not…” My voice broke. His hand pressed more firmly into my waist, holding me exactly where he wanted. “Do not lie,” he said in a quiet, dangerous tone. “Your warmth spreads across my leg.” A soft sound escaped me, humiliating and needy. Kaelan inhaled deeply, savoring it. “You smell of awakening heat,” he whispered. “A little creature ready to be claimed.” My knees buckled. He caught me easily, lifting me with one arm until my chest pressed against his. His body radiated heat that seeped into my skin. Something firm and heavy rested against my lower belly, unmistakable and growing. “You see,” he murmured, brushing one finger along the base of my ear. “Your ears betray every thought.” Pleasure shot through me so sharply I gasped and grabbed his shoulders. My tail would have curled if I had one. My legs trembled in open surrender, hips arching helplessly. He lowered his hand and traced the curve of my hip. “Look at me.” I tried not to. Truly tried. But his fingers guided my chin with slow, unyielding pressure. My eyes met his. The gold in them darkened. “You resist,” he said softly. “Good. I enjoy watching you try.” His thigh lifted again. The pressure struck the tender heat between my legs. A soft cry escaped me before I could stop it. My warmth coated his leg, deeper and wetter than before. “Mira.” His voice deepened. “You are close.” I shook my head desperately, though my hips rolled once more against him, helpless and shivering. “Yes,” he whispered. “You are.” He held me still, denying the building release. His lips hovered near my neck. “Tell me your name.” “Mira.” He said it as if sealing a claim. “Mira. Sweet little Mira.” His thigh pressed again. My breath broke. My back arched. I felt myself about to fall apart. He stopped me with nothing but a hand on my waist. “You come to my fortress before sunrise,” he said. “If you do not, I will hunt you myself.” He stepped back. My legs nearly folded beneath me. My inner thighs glistened with heat. My ears twitched uncontrollably, still trembling from his touch. He disappeared into the trees. I stood alone, shaking, unable to cool the fire he left behind.
