Chapter 6

526 Words
Emily’s POV: My vision blurs and I can feel my weakness all over my body, almost as if I have no strength whatsoever. Some sort of blob comes into my view but I can’t make out what - or who - it is. I open my mouth to talk but it sounds as if I am drowning in my own spit. My body feels slimy and almost like it’s not even my own body. I roll my head back onto the ground as the world around me spins. I think about Riley and call out to her in my head. Riley! What the actual eff is wrong with me? I can’t even push my way through to you. I don’t know. I feel like I am dying. Well, do something! I can’t! I’m useless at the moment. Truth be told, I am useless at the moment as well. I have been injected with something and I can’t move any part of me. Not to mention, I can’t even see straight. “Looking for answers?” I hear a voice call out and the blob goes out of my range of sight. “Hmm I bet you are. You have only just begun to understand the world that is the supernatural. There are things that you don’t even know exist. Like a kanima. Whose venom is so strong, that it can paralyze the most powerful being in the whole world.” I squint my eyes as hard as I can to follow the voice and I start to be able to make out features of the person talking. “Of course, I am not talking about pathetic little you. More myself. But you know, you have no idea who I am or what I am even capable of.” She walks closer to me. I have seen that walk before. Svetlana. “Ah, close.” The voice says as she bends down just over my face. The face that looks back at me is. Me. “I can read your thoughts, just as you can normally read mine. But I not only injected you with enough kanima venom to keep you paralyzed for the next few hours, I also injected you with a wolfsbane that basically knocked your little wolf friend living inside of you out and well. No wolf friend, no powers.” I can see something of a smile forming on my face. “Just think of all the wondrous things we could do together, but then again, you have no idea who I am. Don’t worry my sweet, sweet shadow self. You will learn overtime who I am. But as far as this little encounter, you will not remember it was I that killed your little wolf friend. As far as you will know, it was my mother.” She reaches forward and puts her fingers on my temple. What vision I had becomes less so as she settles into a rhythm. My body starts to spin and I can feel myself slipping in and out of consciousness. “Bye bye shadow self.” She waves her fingers at me before everything goes black.
