Chapter 45 - A Promise to Return
Dante sat facing Alexa on the edge of their bed, his expression suddenly a lot more serious for some unknown reason and it caused her to feel a sudden sense of foreboding rising up from within. As he spoke next, his voice sounded much darker, as if he were now in Reaper mode. “Bella, something very important is happening here tonight. But I’m afraid that it’s not safe for you to be in attendance…” He paused, turning his head to face Willow as he continued. “…for either of you, for that matter.” Frowning, Willow watched on as Dante turned back to face Alexa again. “Some very dangerous men are coming here tonight… and I am going to have to do some… some terrible things.” Dante seemed genuinely ashamed of what he was admitting to her.
