I can feel the light breeze around me and light dancing on my face. I do not know how long I have been conscious for but it is more than I've ever been after slipping into this state. I have heard more conversations than before. I've heard people around me moving all day and I can feel my body for the first time. I am not trapped in my own mind, there is no more darkness. I try moving my hand but I cannot, so I try again. Nothing. I try moving my toes this time. Again, nothing. I have been trying to move since I got into this state of awareness, but nothing yet.
I hear someone entering the room again.
"I think that she will wake up soon. The spell she was under was a century old, her body just needed rest to recover from it." It was Melissa. I recognize her voice now. She is one of my frequent visitors, other than my mom, my dad and a few other people. I have also stopped trying to make sense of everything as the talks only make me more confused. I think this might just be a new dream, similar to the one that I used to have before.
I hear new footsteps approaching and everyone around the room starts shuffling and then come to a standstill.
"Any updates on the princess's health Melissa?" The lady who visits me frequently asks.
"I was here to deliver the last dose of herbs, your majesty, it will help wake her up but I suggest we hold that off. Her mind and body needs more time to heal. When she crossed the gates between the worlds, the spell put on her was lifted. She was under its influence for over a century. It takes a toll on not just the body but mind and if she wasn't as powerful as she is, she wouldn't have survived. No one would have. And I apologies for saying this but even you wouldn't have survived it, your majesty." Melissa finished.
"Do what you deem fit for the princess, I just want my baby safe."
"Yes your majesty." and with that I heard the lady leave and the chaos was back.
"That was bold of you." I recognize this voice too. It was Harper. He rarely speaks but I can feel his presence around me all the time. "You of all people should appreciate me for standing against her wishes. She would have put the princess in danger by forcing me to wake her up. And if something were to happen to her, what would you do for the rest of your life?" the next second of Melissa finishing her sentence, I feel someone take a plunge and Melissa yell in pain. It all happened so fast I am not even sure what happened.
"Touched a nerve, Harper?" Melissa sounded like she was choking. Harper didn't say anything he just moved back to where he always stood.
"See, this is why I like Kai better. Your brother would have laughed at the joke rather than attack me." Melissa sounded better now but it wasn't her normal melodious voice yet.
"Just get out of here." Harper said.
