Immortal Episode Arc (begin) “By the way, how far away is the next town we’re headed to?” Rose asked Thomas, obviously bored. “Why do you need to know that?” Thomas countered. “Because we’ve been walking for a few hours now. My feet already hurt.” “Too bad, we haven’t even reached the first town.” “First?” “There should be two towns between the two towns, alright? Happy now?” Thomas sighed. “That’s quite the distance.” Rose nodded. Thomas sighed, scratching his head as Rose drank water. He looked at the sky and then at the scenery around them. He had followed the same path as Amon previously, but Thomas had somehow failed to notice that there was a desert. In fact, he did not seem to recall there ever being a desert when he walked. He shook his head, not wanting to think too much about it. “How are our supplies?” Rose asked. “It’s alright, could probably last a few days.” Thomas replied. “As long as you stop chugging the water.” “It’s not chugging.” Rose said, shoving the flask in Thomas’ face. “I’m preparing for another long walk. “Yeah, great, hurry up please.” Rose closed the flask and continued walking in the direction they had agreed on. Thomas predicted that they were going to reach the first town relatively quickly. Rose paused, Thomas also pausing. “What is it?” He asked her. “Something moved beneath me.” She whispered. “Probably just loose sand.” “It felt alive though.” “Just your imagination, what kind of creatures would live in a desert?” “Maybe a sand worm.” Rose said. “Don’t those only exist in stories?” He countered. “I mean, it could still be real, you never know.” Rose shrugged. “Stop with your nonsense already.” “I’m being serious here.” Rose’s eyes widened and she lunged forward, tackling Thomas to the sand. The sand where he stood erupted, spaying them with more of the stuff. Both of them looked at the creature that had risen from the ground. It was around four meters tall, with a body made of stone blocks, it looked like an angry wall. “That thing looks like an angry wall, don’t you think?” Thomas asked Rose. “I mean, you’re not wrong.” The monster could apparently hear them, lifting one of its heavy arms and swinging down at them. They rolled to either side, Thomas getting up, prepared to fight. Rose looked at the monster, then shouted to Thomas, “See? I was right! There was something there!” “Shut up!” Thomas shouted back. The monster made a noise, it sounded like a roar, but there was only stone rubbing on stone. Rose and Thomas both started running away, Thomas shouting behind him, “Fourth Hour!” A clock appeared over the monster and it started moving in slow motion. Thomas and Rose stopped somewhere not too far away, both of them breathing hard. The sun was starting to set, and nothing good happened in the night. Thomas checked his pocket watch, then whispered to Rose, “I think we got to start running for the town.” “Why?” More sand erupted around them, luckily, most of them were far away. Glowing pairs of eyes stared at them, the air was filled with a still silence. Something swooped over them before disappearing into the dark sky. There was a hiss not too far away before heavy footsteps were heard. Thomas looked at his shoulder, realising he had a deep gash in his shoulder. He fell slightly to the side, had the flying monster done it to him? Rose supported him and started to run. “Yeah, I wonder why we have to run.” Thomas said. “Less talking, more running for our lives.” “Your life.” “Well, I’m sorry I’m not immortal like you.” Thomas’ injury healed and they both ran as fast as they could across the desert in search of the town. Their view was limited, and they were just hoping they come across it. “Why did you insult the wall?” Rose shouted while they ran. “You did too.” Thomas shouted back. “Do something please.” Thomas pulled out his pocket watch and clicked the trigger, a portal opening in front of them. Rose stopped and asked, “What’s this?” “Just jump in!” Both of them jumped through, the portal closing behind them. Thomas sat down in The World Clock, sighing. Rose looked around, intrigued. “Where are we and what we’re those monsters.” She asked him. “This is The World Clock.” Thomas answered. “Seems depressing.” She commented. “I’m sorry, I’ve been here for way too long.” He replied sarcastically. She sat beside Thomas and asked, “What were those monsters just now?” “I don’t know, probably the work of a demon, don’t you think?” He speculated. “I mean, I’ve never seen those monsters before in all of time.” “Maybe it’s the work of another Myth? Like WishEarth or the other guy JoyRide?” “No... their powers don’t really do anything like that, and Wish is much more direct with his attacks.” “What about the fourth Myth?” “Excuse me?” “If the first Myth is The ClockKeeper, you, the second is JoyRide, and the third is WishEarth, who’s the fourth?” “That’s a long sentence, also, I would rather not talk about the fourth one.” Thomas tapped his chin, thinking about it. None of the Myths would do anything like what they had seen, and it was much too weird. He tried to think, those monsters may not exist in the human world, but they could have existed somewhere else. Thomas paused, standing up. “What’s up?” Rose asked him. “I think I know what they’re planning to do, and it’s not going to be good.” Thomas said. “What is it?” “Those monsters don’t exist in the human world, right?” “Yeah.” “But they’re here.” “I can see that.” Thomas checked his pocket watch anxiously. “If I’m right, those creatures came from where the demons came from, they most likely came from Hell.” “From Hell? Why?” “I’m not sure, but if my predictions are correct, the demon causing all of this is planning to overlap the human world and Hell.” “What would they even accomplish with that?” Rose asked, standing up. “Then demons would completely rule the world. Hell is too harsh a condition for humans to live in.” Thomas explained. “Then we need to stop them!” Thomas clicked the trigger on his pocket watch again, and a portal appeared in front of them. Glowing eyes hovering in the dark faced them, the monsters rushing towards them. Thomas closed the portal. “Maybe tomorrow.” He suggested. “Sounds like a good idea.” Rose replied. She laid down on the floor of The World Clock and said, “Goodnight.”
