It was a vast world, just what was in it?
At the top, Heaven. In the middle, the human world. At the bottom, Hell. Even within these three territories, there are many subsets within subsets. The different areas, the places and life that existed. At least, until the demons invaded the human world, and eventually merging the two worlds. Fortunately, the effects of the demon realm no longer exist, but it left traces. Families broken, demons have become more prominent than ever. Most notably, the humans were put in even more of a disadvantage.
Despite that, the demons suffered a major loss themselves. Of the ten demon generals, they had lost Astel, and another more important figure. The strongest demon, the immortal Episode, was no longer with them.
The remaining demon generals were on the move, they were to find the killer of Episode, and to kill him themselves. Spread across the human world, the demon generals were put into action. The death of a demon general by an entity they did not know was alarming. They needed to figure out who it was, to understand.
The twins, Gemini Arc (begin)
“Hey, Tom, where are we?” Rose asked, staring in front of her.
“Am I supposed to know?” Thomas replied sarcastically.
“I mean, yes?”
“You can clearly see it yourself, can’t you?” Thomas told her. “Just look at it.”
“Are we on an island?” Rose scratched her chin.
“The whole ground beneath us is technically an island, so I guess yes.” Thomas replied, bored at that point.
“I remember seeing a place similar to this at the island...” Rose whispered. “There was an angry wall there.”
“Really? Tell me more.” Thomas sighed.
“You see, it was one fine day, I was holding you in my arms, and you were asleep I think. I was-”
“I was joking.” Thomas sighed, walking forward.
Rose followed him, the two of them walking on the soft sand. Rose looked around and commented, “Are you sure you reversed the effect of the merging? Isn’t this part of the demon world?”
“Why would it be part of the demon world?” Thomas asked her, giving her a look.
“I don’t think I ever saw this in the human world before.” Rose said, stomping on the sand.
“Obviously it’s part of the human world.” Thomas told her. “You just haven’t been to these kinds of places before.”
“What do you even call these places?”
Thomas pointed to the sea and then the sand beneath them. “The beach.”
“Stupid name.” Rose said.
“Don’t ask me who came up with it.” Thomas shrugged. “Cause I don’t know.”
“Who names a terrain bee-itch.” She grumbled.
“Careful with your language there.” Thomas said.
Rose kicked some sand aside and asked him, “What are we even doing here? I don’t like this sand.”
“You don’t know what a beach is but know what sand is?” He asked, looking at her.
She gave him a look that was like ‘duh’. She said, “Duh, my town sells it.”
“Marketing aside, I don’t know what your town does with the sand, and I don’t think I want to know.”
“Some people run their skin with it.”
Thomas paused and turned around. “Of all the things they could use sand for, they rub it on their skin?”
“I heard it felt nice.”
“Humans are weird.” Thomas grumbled, continuing his walk.
They had walked for about a few days, Rose pointing them in a direction and walking. However, they had just walked to the edge of the land, and any further was the sea. Although it was possible that a demon general could be in the sea, Thomas would rather not go into the water. They had not seen or encountered a single town, which to Thomas, was slightly weird. He found a flat rock and sat down, sighing, Rose sitting beside him. She stretched her legs and took off her shoes, wiggling her toes in the sand. She was still human, and barely had any rest for a few days.
“Any idea where we’re going next?” Rose asked.
“No.” He replied flatly.
“You have nothing else to say?”
“You’re correct.”
“That’s... never mind.”
They had continued their journey with the supplies they had left off with before the merger. They supplies were still limited, and Rose was willing to ration it. Thomas just looked around at the beach, bored and not knowing what to do next. Rose’s sixth sense had led them there, so he assumed they were supposed to have some kind of encounter, or at least a signal towards their next destination.
“Does your magic not work anymore?” Thomas asked.
“Of course it works.” Rose replied. “Sand really feels nice...”
Thomas pulled out his pocket watch and checked the time before putting his watch back. It was not early, the sun was about to set. Oddly, they had not seen any demons at all since after the merger.
They just waited, Rose put her shoes back on at some point. Thomas started to get bored when they heard a voice. “Hey! Elizabeth!”
“Who the heck is Elizabeth?” Thomas asked, turning towards the sound.
He could not see it, but it hit him. A fairy floated towards them and hugged Rose’s arm. The fairy said, “it’s been some time, huh?”
“Truth?” Rose asked.
“Yep, it’s me.” Truth laughed. “Where have you been?”
Thomas looked at the fairy, his thoughts processing the name. He reached out and pulled Rose away from the flying critter. He asked, “How are you related to the Devil?”
“What do you mean?” The fairy asked, tilting her head.
“You name, is Truth, correct?”
“Yes.”
“How are you related to TruthDevil?” Thomas asked again.
The fairy realised what he meant and shook her head vigorously. “No, no. I’m not related to the Devil. I’m serious! I was captured by a demon and he gave me that name. I’ve long since forgotten my actual name, so I’ve been using the name given.”
Rose nodded, her sixth sense approving.
Thomas sighed and let go of her. The fairy looked as the both of them gave her suspicious glances. She shook her head and said, “As an act of loyalty, how about I tell you where one of the other demon generals are?”
