56th Tick: Out At Sea

“Hey, critter, where’s the demon general you were talking about?” Thomas asked. They had been following Truth, walking along the shore of the beach. The fairy turned around, angry. “I am not a critter! I am a honourable fairy I’ll have you know! Ask Elizabeth, Angela appreciate fairies!” “Do you?” Thomas asked Rose. “Not me.” She replied. Truth’s shoulders dropped and she sighed, floating at a slightly lower altitude. The fairy muttered to herself, “Should have never left Heaven...” If Thomas was supposed to feel pity, he must have been emotionless. He just followed the fairy, not knowing what she was leading them towards. “Are you leading us to some kind of trap?” Thomas asked. “Maybe unknowingly?” The fairy’s eyes twitched as she turned around, flailing her arms at Thomas’ shoulder, shouting, “I have had it with you! I tried to be nice and show you to a demon general, but now you’re doubting me?” Rose stood some distance away, trying to pretend she was unrelated to the two. Thomas held the fairy by the back of her dress, holding her in front of his face. She frowned at him, sticking out her tongue and saying, “I don’t like you.” “What a coincidence. Neither do I.” Thomas told her. He let go of Truth, letting her fly some distance away. She turned and huffed. “I won’t lead you there anymore, only Elizabeth.” “I’m alright with that.” Thomas agreed. “At leader I don’t have to look at you any longer.” “Rude!” The fairy said, flying away. Rose followed after her, glancing back at Thomas. He winked and whispered, “I’ll be able to know where you are.” He walked around where he was and kicked the sand. When it was about time, he said, “Third Hour.” A clock appeared in front of him, a vague figure of Rose appeared. She walked forward almost like a robot for a few seconds before she walked normally. Thomas walked behind that image of Rose, wondering if he would be there in time if anything went wrong. He shook the thought from his head and just walked forward. He did not trust the fairy. Her name, Truth, was suspicious to every extent possible. It was the Devil’s name, she was most likely related or connected to the Devil. The fourth Myth, TruthDevil, was his enemy, the person he needed to defeat. He had managed to get away with the lie that he wanted to stop the Devil from messing up The World Clock, but there was another reason... “Where oh where...” He whispered to himself. “Can I find a Rose and a critter...” The figure of Rose hesitated before she continued to walk forward. Thomas observed her, she seemed to be talking, probably to Truth. Thomas looked in front of him, he had waited some time, and the both of them had most likely turned the sharp corner ahead. “Zeroth Hour.” The image of Rose stopped in place and disappeared as Thomas started to walk forward. He had a bad feeling about whatever was going to happen, he shouldn’t have left Rose alone with Truth. It was true that fairies do not have much power to begin with, but they have been know to cause quite the ruckus. For example, Thomas could recall that he had seen a stray fairy steal crops from a village. It was not much, but overtime, the village started to run dry and was unable to survive the winter. Thomas turned the corner and looked around. There was more sand and sea, but no sign of Rose. He cursed, seeing Truth some distance away. He walked up to the fairy and grabbed her, resuming time. “What’s going on here?” Thomas asked. Truth struggled, tears in her eyes. “Demons! Demons attacked us! The demon general I was talking about found out and they captured Elizabeth!” “I left for five minutes and this happens.” Thomas complained. “What do we do?” Truth cried. “Doesn’t matter anymore.” Thomas let go of the fairy, letting her fly around depressingly. “Second Hour.” A clock appeared, the hour hand spinning backwards rapidly. He looked back at Truth, the fairy was staring wide-eyes at Thomas, no, at the clock that appeared. Thomas ignored her, and Rose reappeared, standing there. “W-“ She said before stopping. “Didn’t I just get kidnapped?” “I kidnapped you back, now let’s go.” Thomas replied. “I’m not trusting that critter with you alone anymore.” Truth flew slower and sadder, leading them towards something. A wooden structure, taller than any building, and longer than any house. Made of wood, it was decaying from age. The mast had broken and there were no sails. “What’s this?” Rose asked. “A ship.” Truth explained. “The next demon general lives on an island not far away.” Thomas looked into the distance, seeing a small dot. There was most likely an island there, but how would the fairy know the demon generals were there. Thomas looked at the ship, it was better if they could get there safely. “Zeroth Hour.” Time paused. He noticed Truth staring at him again. He pushed her head aside and faced the ship. “Second Hour.” The ship rapidly fixed itself, to the point where it just plopped itself into the water again. He forced the ship to continue to reverse in time until a few men were seen on board, saluting. The other men of the ship reappeared and Thomas stopped the effect. He stepped up to the ship filled with confused men. “Hello.” Thomas said. “Are you the one who revived us?” One of the men asked. “Yes. And I have a request.” Thomas continued. “We want to get somewhere, so I hope you guys can help get us there.” The men on the ship paused, they whispered to each other before all of them saluted him. Thomas and Rose stepped aboard while Truth floated behind them. The process was fast, Thomas and Rose managed to sit in their cabins before the ship was already moving. There were out at sea, somewhere Thomas would rather not be.
