79th Tick: Hidden Message

“Look inside myself? What has he been dreaming about? This isn’t some sort of fairytale!” Rose complained, kicking at the image of Thomas that faded out. “What could it mean?” Truth muttered, thinking. “He could have just told me straight up.” Rose sighed. “It’s not like anyone else can hear us.” Rose paused, but tried not to show it. There was a reason why Thomas would want to code what he said. Rose began doubting that he had even recorded it a day after the reversal of Episode’s merging. It was possible that he had recorded it on the ship, where he could predict something happening. Rose scratched her head and walked back, her red hair swaying as the breeze blew. Truth asked her, “Do you have an idea?” “Nope, he’s probably talking some sort of nonsense.” Rose replied. “I’ll go talk with the crew.” From the very beginning, Thomas had been suspicious of Truth. Rose understood that he would take the precaution to code it just so Truth would not be able to understand, but Rose herself was quite clueless. Truth believed Rose was an Angel, but was Truth really who she claimed to be? Rose started questioning herself and her opinion of Truth. The fairy remained where Rose had stood, thinking deeply. Rose could understand if Truth was a traitor if she sent messages to the demon generals or leaked their information, but the fairy looked harmless. Fairies were weak creatures, even an average human could accidentally kill them if they were not careful enough. Rose wondered why Thomas would ever be suspicious of someone even he could kill. “How are things going?” Rose asked. “We have caught sight of the island, we are predicted to arrive in an hour.” One of the sailors replied. Rose nodded and walked back to her room, wanting to be alone. She was thinking furiously, what did Thomas mean? To look inside herself, to pull out a magic. Her magic was a sixth sense, the most she could do was read minds for a short amount of time. Not much else could be built onto what she already had. She then thought about it. She had been sent to Heaven for some odd reason, Thomas even suffered just to bring her back from the dead. Did Heaven have some sort of effect on her? “I wonder...” Rose muttered. There were two streaks of white in her hair, and she was ignorant of it. She did not care how her hair turned white, but she did not seem to be considered human by most. Truth called her an Angel, that was weird enough as it was. Rose wondered when she would be able to return to land and continue their journey on land. She laid down on her bed, giving up on trying to figure Thomas out. She could understand most of it, it was pretty obvious. According to Thomas, if she ever awakened some sort of power, she would be at risk of something, not sure what though. He had mentioned that her powers would most likely come from her having been to Heaven. If she actually had powers, she might be able to stand up to the generals. However, apparently if her hair started turning white, she was to stop. Rose scratched her head and sighed. She tried forgetting it, it was not worth it to think too much about it. She only needed to concentrate on the task at hand, the invasion of the island owned by the demon general. She felt the ship come to a stop, so she rushed out. She found a sailor and asked, “Hey, what’s going on? Why did we stop?” “There seems to be something blocking our way.” The sailor said. “It might take up a few hours to find another way.” Rose walked to the deck, where the sailors gave way. There was a stone wall in front of them, twice as high as the ship above the water, ranging out to either side to the point where it just faded away. Rose cursed and said, “go around it, try to find a way in.” The ship turned and they were off, sailing along the stone wall. Rose looked at the stone wall for the next few minutes, seeing no end to it. She remained patient, but there was a dreadful feeling deep inside her. A feeling that things were not that simple. At some point, Rose asked the sailors, “Is anyone here able to use magic?” “None other than the captain, ma’am.” Someone replied. Rose cursed and shouted, “Continue sailing along the wall! There has to be some way around it. Either that or we start drilling through it with any tools on hand.” “We could use the cannons, ma’am.” Rose paused and gave the sailor who said it a look. “Why wasn’t I informed about this sooner?” “Because... the cannons... are obvious...?” He replied, unsure. “Forget going around the wall. Load the cannons and blow a hole through. Use as many as you can, we need to break through!” Rose commanded. The sailors went to work. She felt confident, knowing she had people listening to her for once. She walked to there she stood with Truth previously, covering her ears as cannons fire rang through the ship. The wall cracked after the first shot, but showed no sign of actually falling. Truth floated beside Rose once again, looking as the cannons continuously made impact with the wall. The fairy frowned for a moment before asking, “Hey, Elizabeth, do you want to go to the island?” “Of course, what else am I trying to do?” Rose replied. “I can bring you there, if you want.” Truth said. “You can use spatial magic? Are you able to transfer the whole ship?” “No, only you.” Truth was being serious. “I picked up my spacial magic from someone I knew, and My Magic is pretty limited, so I can only transport one person at a time.” Rose found it oddly convenient, and much more suspicious. Why would a fairy ever want to learn how to use spatial magic? But Rose had no other choice, the wall was not falling, in fact, it seemed to be regenerating the more they shot the cannons at the wall. “Fine, you can take me there, I’ll somehow manage.” Rose told Truth.
