64th Tick: Rematch 2

1010 Words
Thomas rubbed his head, wanting Captain Wave to stop ruining his plan for one second. The human was too stubborn to realise the situation he was in. He was against a demon who fought him previously. Both knew what the other could do, except for one factor. The demon had gotten stronger and potentially had an ace up her sleeve while Captain Wave’s ability had remained stagnant. Thomas tried to stand, but his legs locked, so he remained seated. He thought about helping Captain Wave, but decided otherwise. He wanted to see how capable the human was, and if things got too bad, he would step in and save the captain. Captain Wave pulled the blade back and struck again at her torso from the side. His sword was longer, so the reach was an advantage. The demon knocked his blade aside and stabbed at him in return. He leaned back, out of range. The demon general retracted her arm and raised the blade in the air, ready to swing it downwards. Captain Wave tackled her from the side, stopping the blade from striking downwards. They both rolled to a stop, the demon having kicked him away. She looked at the basket on the ground, crushed. The content spilled on the ground, ruined and wasted. She looked at it for a moment before glaring at Captain Wave. She reached for the other dagger, but he was there, slashing at her left arm. She pulled the dagger out and deflected the blade, raising her right arm and striking down at him. The ground around them was shredded and Captain Wave had a few light lines across his chest and arms on him. Captain Wave was bleeding, though only slightly. He stepped back, gripping his sword and throwing it at her. The demon general knocked it aside behind her. Captain Wave turned, his jacket flipping back and revealing where he had hidden his blade. On the inside of the back, there were three sheathed of blades. The first one was already pulled out by him, so he pulled the next one out. He spun and struck again, just to be knocked back and kicked down. The demon general looked down, her right arm raised. Thomas saw as the sword Captain Wave had thrown stabbed her in the back. She knocked it out quickly enough that the wound was not serious, Captain Wave took that opportunity to swing again at her neck. She blocked the blade with her own before stabbing his arm. The captain gritted his teeth and slammed his other arm into the ground. The floor cracked into large pieces and started to float around them. The demon general did not let go of the dagger in his arm, so he used his left hand to punch at her. She pulled out the dagger and slashed at his fist, splitting his hand between the middle and index finger. Captain Wave jumped back, his arms dropping by his side. The demon general stood there as he disappeared into the debris. He stood upside down on one of them, looking at her. He made eye contact with her right before the debris collapsed into her. Stone, marble and who knows what else was in the ground sped towards her. She raised both arms and slashed down, the debris getting slashed apart, red slashed hanging in the air. She glared at Captain Wave and jumped up to him, daggers raised. He fell to the ground before he stepped back. Red slashes surrounded the demon general, cutting everything they touch, the ground, the ceiling, the walls. The slashes stopped at some points and disappeared. Before the slashes could hit him, the slashes were pushed back. Captain Wave cursed as the demon general landed nearby, rushing at him. “Anti gravity.” Captain Wave whispered. Thomas felt himself get lifted up slightly. The demon general also started to float, so she simply raised both arms again. Captain Wave remained on the ground and pointed downwards with his right arm. She slammed into the ground hard, cracking the already destroyed floor. Thomas fell lightly. Captain Wave did not look too good, Thomas wanted to help. Except, when he tried to stand, he was unable to. He looked at his feet, seeing a red indent in his ankles. When did the demon general s***h his ankles? Besides, because the slashes were not disappearing, the wound was not healing. “Watch out!” Thomas warned. Captain Wave stepped back when the demon got close to him. She slashed at his neck. Captain Wave had his blade float to defend him, stopping himself from being decapitated. He tried to kick her back, but she slashed his right leg off. Captain Wave did not fall, standing on one leg. The two swords Captain Wave used were floating in the air, trying to strike at her. She knocked one far away and caught the other between her knee and elbow. She held it in place with the flat of the blade, she struck at it with her dagger, shattering it. Captain Wave glanced at Thomas. Thomas pointed at his ankles and shook his head. The captain swayed to the side, dodging a strike and pointed at her. She flew back and slammed against the wall in the far back. Captain Wave flew over to Thomas and picked him up before flying out of the hole in the roof. “Where are you going?” Thomas asked. Red slashes came from the building towards Captain Wave. He noticed slightly too late and was unable to get out of the way completely. He moved, the s***h passing through Thomas and chopping off his right arm. Captain Wave grunted and hesitated, Thomas floating after him. He eventually stopped and crashed into the forests where the demon soldiers had already started to search. Thomas found it hard to believe Captain Wave used to be on par with the demon general. He barely did anything to her and basically lost his life doing so. Had he not escaped, he would have definitely died.
