65th Tick: Rematch 3

“So...” Thomas started. He had just reversed time on Captain Wave and himself, so they were both back in peak condition. Captain Wave sat down, looking away dejected. Thomas looked at the human and continued, “Didn’t you say you fought her and almost won before? Why were you so helpless that entire fight?” “There’s a reason for it.” Captain Wave replied. Thomas waited for him to continue, but he did not say another word more. Thomas sighed, “Explain to me why you were so helpless against her?” “I did not tell you the full truth of my supposed victory.” Captain Wave said. “What? Did you cheat? Was someone helping you?” “No...” He said, rubbing his knee. “Back then, we were battling on my ship. As you can expect, she destroyed the ship, but not completely. The demon general did not want to enter the water, so she held back from destroying my ship completely. To add, there were big waves that day and she constantly lost her balance, so most of her attacks were ineffective. The situation had could not have been tilted in my favour any more.” Thomas facepalmed himself and sighed audibly. “So you were not actually stronger than the demon general.” “Yes, from what you have seen just now, I do not currently have the capability to defeat the demon general by myself.” Thomas tapped his cheek and asked, “Do you have a strongest spell?” “Yes.” “Can’t you just use that?” “No.” Thomas looked him in the eyes, seeing that he was completely serious about what he was saying. “Why?” “I might as well self destruct.” “You’ll die after using it?” Captain Wave nodded. “That’s about right.” “What kind of spell will kill the user?” Thomas asked, not believing him. “That seems kind of useless, not going to lie.” “My Magic is gravity magic.” Captain Wave explained. “It’s considered a destructive but at the same time useless magic.” “Gravity? I don’t think there are any gravity magic users other than you right now.” “Yes, it is a rare and hard to control magic. Normally, I can use it to do simple tasks like readjusting my center of gravity to balance at any point. I can also make people float, fly, put force into my hits. It’s practical and can be used for both offence and defence. Fighting on a tough terrain is no problem for me at all as long as My Magic power lasts.” Thomas scratched his head, concerned. “So how do you commit suicide?” “I put myself as the center of gravity.” Captain Wave stated. “And what does that do?” “Put the center of gravity into a point so small and powerful that it absorbs everything around it. My body will be used as a sort of fuel and be sucked in. That amount of matter compressed into such a small area will eventually cause a black hole to appear.” “To make a black hole, you die?” Thomas asked. “Yes.” “Why not just put that somewhere else?” “The black hole will end up sucking me in anyways, along with the rest of the land and potentially everything in existence.” “Sounds morbid.” “That’s why I don’t use it.” “So how do you plan to defeat the demon general? I’ll have you know I’m not one who favours direct battles.” Thomas asked him. “I don’t know, do you have something that could help me?” Captain Wave challenged. “Like?” “Keep me alive constantly! If I die, bring me back.” “No.” “Why not?” Thomas had bad memories about seeing something similar to that. He had once seen someone do something like that once before, a human about twenty years ago. He was a strong soldier who wanted to fight a war himself to prevent his fellow soldiers from suffering. He made the ultimate mistake of making a wish with WishEarth. WishEarth kept to the wish he was asked, he gave that man immortality. Every time he died, he came back to life to fight, over and over again. Thomas had felt something off from The World Clock and had gone to the human world to check it out. Beside WishEarth, he watched as the man got slaughtered and brought back to life to be slaughtered again. He slowly dwindled their numbers until eventually, he lost sight of himself. He fended off the enemy, but as a result, he had lost his mind. The trauma of repeatedly dying had scarred him. He no longer even wanted to be alive. That man was one of the people who Wish took over to unleash chaos upon the world. “You’ll regret it if I do that.” Thomas said to Captain Wave. “Trust me, humans can’t handle these kinds of things.” “You say it like you’re not human.” “I’m not.” “Th-” They were interrupted when demon soldiers charged out of the forest around them, surrounding them from all angles. Thomas looked around and was about to do something when Captain Wave tapped the ground. The demons fell on their knees, unable to move. Captain Wave said, “I can handle it.” The demons were crushed under the heavy gravity. From above, there was a flash of red as a figure jumped from the tree. Thomas got up, pulling Captain Wave onto his feet. The demon general landed gracefully without much of a sound. She had sheathed her daggers and charged Captain Wave barehanded. The captain was not ready to receive an attack from her, getting his head grabbed and slammed into the ground. She ran forward, dragging his head along the ground, burying him deeper and deeper until his whole head was under surface level in a b****y mess. “You better not regret this.” Thomas whispered. A clock appeared on Captain Wave. The clock hovered above him, untouchable. The hour hand pointed to the number two. Captain Wave stood up, the clock still above him. He cracked his neck, checking his hands and gave Thomas a nod. Thomas sighed and looked away. Captain Wave faced the demon general who was glaring at him, her head tilted. He pumped himself up by clenching his fists. The demon appeared behind him, sheathing her blades. Captain Wave had been to assured by the temporary immortality granted by Thomas. Adding to that, he had also gotten careless as to how truly strong the demon general really was. His torso split apart and he was revived. He focused and drew his third blade, readying himself.
