Chapter 9

RIANA

Ryan's sister May is actually overly sweet, she has helped me with getting my tops on and bring me food. I wish that the hours could move so I can go home but I am still here in Ryan’s bedroom. I told May to tell everyone that I do not want any visitors, yet my parents still came up to see me and told me that they would be heading back home, but Raid, Chase and I will remain here for one night. I was hoping I would be back in the comfort of my room, but here I am stranded here.

This cast on my arm is annoying and I cannot go for a run so I am naturally frustrated and there is nothing I can do about it. Chase still has not reached out to me since the accident. I think that he might be avoiding me. I am seated up straight with my back to the wall scrolling through my phone and I hear Zoe’s smooth voice sail into my head.

'Riana....Are you all, right?' She asks calmly.

'I am doing pretty fine Zoe, thanks for finally appearing.’ I say while rolling my eyes.

'I see you're fine, I was mastering the arts of not taking to you and how I'd survive without your nonsense.’ She says and I can tell she is still annoyed at me because of Ryan.

'What the hell are you going about?' I ask her pretending I do not know what she is talking about.

'Nothing, peace I'm out.’ Zoe goes quiet in my head, and I know she will not respond to me unless she is the one that starts the conversation.

It hit me like a gush of cold winter’s breeze, something very cold like fingertips hold on to my shoulder and that is when those same cold fingers pull me inside something that looked like a time portal. For some reason I did not try to scream I am just going to let it happen. I am sucked into the portal and within a minute I land hard on the ground, causing pain to erupt further up onto my arm and chest. What is going on today? I look and see the last person I expected to see after all this time.

'Hey Riana!' Amber says while smiling at me happily.

‘No! Are you f*****g kidding me? Amber did you just pull me through that portal?’ I stare at her in total disbelief.

'Well yes.... It has been a while. How have you been? She asks moving closer to me.

'Look at my arm.’  I lift my left arm a little feeling the pain and put it back down. 'Judging from how you knew where to find me I'm certain you know how life is treating me, Amber.’ I say annoyed at the sight of her.

'I'm trying to make this meeting less awkward and you’re not helping.’ Amber says in frustration.

'Why the hell did you pull me through a time portal? I'm darn sure it's not because you missed me.’ I say trying to cross my arms but remember I cannot.

'I'm your friend, of course I missed you. I just needed to be away that’s all.’ Amber says sounding a little defeated.

'Get away from who or what Amber? I heard many say you left because I was a werewolf, and you were a witch so we could not be friends.’ I say getting a little angry at her.

'Oh, come on that's absurd.’ She snorts and rolls her eyes.

'What do you want Amber? Okay let us get over and done with this meeting because I’m already exhausted'.  I really wish I could cross my arms over each other in this situation. Dam!

'Well, I'm not extremely sure yet but it seems like someone wants to hurt you and your mate, but I can't stop it. The goddess of Destiny would not like me meddling in her affairs.’ Amber says as she sits on the couch behind her.

'Why would anyone want to kill us? I only just met the guy, it’s not like we are some power couple.’ I look at her astonished.

'Remember we agreed for you to stay hidden? You and Ryan together are built to be the strongest werewolf couple over time.’ Amber says looking at me directly.

I roll my eyes at her, ' I didn't agree to do anything with you because I've always been hidden. So, I haven't even shown anyone who I really am.’ I say calmly.

'The witches and any creature that uses magic can smell a strong being when they are presented to the world, that really happened when you met Ryan during the ceremony.’  Amber says waiting to see my reaction.

I sit down on Ambers bed, really wishing I could bash something right now,’ so now what?’

'So now you bond and mate with Ryan.’ Amber says looking at me seriously without mixing any words.

'This is really some crazy bullshit.’ I rub my face and sigh loudly in outmost frustration.

'Mating will unlock your hidden strengths. The moon goddess created you to piece this planet together again.

'I don't even like him, how can I f*****g bond with him?’ I ask Amber standing up from the bed.

'You're such a selfish b***h Riana.’ I hear Zoe say.

'Oh, just f*****g shut up it Zoe. I don’t want to hear cramp from you as well.’ I say angrily.

'Uhm are you and Zoe fighting?' Amber asks

'Yes, kind of.’ I reply

'That's not good Riana. You need to hold on to your bond with your wolf or you will get weaker'. Amber says standing up from the couch and walking closer to me.

'I can't help it Amber it’s the Alpha in me.’ I say exhausted at this revelation.

'Dial it down and behave like a Luna because that’s the only way you can at least stay hidden.’

'I can't, it’s not like they don’t already know who I am.’ I say running my fingers through my hair.

'Riana you need to mate with him if you want to actually be safe. Just do as I’m telling you please.’ Amber looks at me pleadingly.

‘You are not my god Amber.’ I look at her sternly not having any more of this.

'I've said what I needed to me hope you understand.’ Amber says moving backwards from me.

'I've listened to what was important, now send me back and next time you want to talk to me, call or text me don't pull me through a f*****g portal that feels like ice.’  I huff and turn away from her.

'Your wish is my command, Luna. Remember if you need me like really need me call out my name three times with this gem and I'll come.’ She hands me a purple gem and opens the portal and I instantly feel the chilly air again. She is definitely doing this on purpose, but I just ignore the cold and prepare to get back and fast.

'ut ea quae retro unde venerunt'. That is the last thing I hear Amber say as I zoom through the portal into Ryan’s room. For some strange reason it feels good to be back. I hear a knock on the door just as I make myself comfortable on the bed. That was perfect timing to return before Ryan broke down the door in my absence.

'Come in.’ I say and see Ryan walk through the door. He stands in front of the bed but does not look at me.

'Your parents will come for you and your bother tomorrow. He is spending time together with the other pack members. I am going for a run and Alex my beta is downstairs with May so if you need anything you can ring May. Here is her number.’ Ryan says placing the piece of paper on the side table.

'Ryan wait!’ I exclaims as he turns to leave. ‘When I’m home I usually like going for runs around this time can I go with you?’ Ryan stares at me as if thinking.

'You have a cast on your arm. Your paws will hurt, and you won't heal.’ He wants to turns to leave again and I grab he is hand and hold him back.

'Wait please.... Take me with you.’ I press on.

'Riana….’ He drags my name out.

'I'll ride on your back and I'll hold on tight. I need some fresh air'.’ He looks at me as if thoughtful again.

'Okay let us go.’ He says turning and walking out of the bedroom. Amber told me to behave like a Luna, but I am not doing this because of that I just really need some fresh air.
