RYAN
She is so overbearing; I cannot seem to breath or think properly when I am around her. She is constantly making my emotions dance out of place. Her gaze ignites me, I am not sure you understand in what way, but she sets me on fire. I know for a fact that there is no one that can put out this heat if not her. She took an arrow for me, and I thought we have something going on, she was just acting up yesterday. Yet I was wrong because she still set up boundaries between us and I am so annoyed, I want to hit something so badly. I do not bother meeting the people downstairs because the doctor already went there to inform me. I decide to go sit in my office and think about all this. I call May and it rings for 20 seconds before she picks up.
'Hey Ryan, what's up?' She asks.
'I need you to help Riana with clothes, food and whatever it is she will need.’ I speak calmly.
'Wait.... Are you not with her? The doctor told us you are with her.’ May asks curiously.
'No, I’m not I just left her there she’s fine you can inform the rest.’ I say getting tired of explaining myself to people.
'We all thought you two were together, so we were giving you the chance to bond.’ May says innocently and I laugh a little bitterly.
'There is no bonding with that woman, help her with clothes and a shower than you all can see her as much as you want, I'm busy.'
'But.... Ryan.’ May tries to further question but I am really over this conversation, so I cut her off before she carries on her sentence.
'May I don't answer to you, just do as I said.’ I hear her sigh before hanging up the call. I sounded harsher than I intended. I am just so pissed. I will call Alex in to report if they found anything at the border lines then I can go for a well-deserved run.
'You need it.’ Zack says.
'How would you know Zack?’ I ask him.
'I say this Ryan because you've failed to impress a woman. That has never been difficult for you.’ Zack say casually.
'What the hell are you talking about, you try doing it, and she’s like a freaking brick wall.’ I say annoyed at him.
'It would be my pleasure, let me take the reins in the wolf form.’ Zack says confidently
'She has to be in her wolf form too Zack. It is important you know who her wolf is.’ I say frustrated.
'I'll make her show herself, one way or the other.’ Zack says as his voice fades behind my head. I hear soft knocking on my door.
'Come in.’ I say now looking at my opened information system. It is what humans call laptops, but we have something more advanced. The door opens and when I look up its Riana's mother. She looks so calm and collected compared to her daughter.
'May I sit?' She asks.
'Of course, where are my manners?' I show her where to sit and she does
'Thank you, Ryan,’ She says as she sits down.
'So Ms....? How should I address you?' I ask her politely.
'Just call me Rose that would be fine.’ She says and gets on smiling at me warmly.
'Okay, so is there something you need from me?' I ask her.
'No, I actually wanted to talk to you about something important.’ She says looking at me softly.
'Is this about Riana's health? The doctor said she will be fine with some rest.’ I say looking at her.
'Whoa come down Ryan.’ She laughs a little holding her right hand over her chest. 'I actually wanted to tell you a story about a girl who was free at one point in her life than she lost it all.’
'Okay, you've got my attention.’ I make myself more comfortable on the chair and listen.
'Good, so listen well.’ Rose continues.
'I was 16 when I met Riana's dad and that day was the worst day of my life. I was an adventurous person and had male friends and friends in general. Everyone liked being around me, so I always had an enjoyable time. It is sad that at a party I stared into Riana’s fathers eyes, and he identified me as his mate, well so did I.
'Wow, that's hectic.’ I say still looking at her but not too directly. I do not feel like I have earned the right.
'So, I tried hiding it from my family, but people couldn't stop talking about it. My dad eventually found out and sent me packing and my mom stood by and watched. So, from that day I hated my parents and refused to see them every time they came by. I was so focused on my hate, that when I gave birth to Riana and Raid, I was not much of a mother. Riana is afraid just as I was. I may have not told them this story, but it is important for you to hear. Looking at you I see a good man and if she breaks down, I'll like for you to help her up.’ She finishes and clears her throat.
'I understand you I'll keep that in mind.’ I say taking everything she said into consideration.
'I'm not saying she should walk all over you; I'm just saying this bond shouldn't have to kill any of you.’ She stands from the seat and walks out of my office. Rose has given me so much to think about and it will not be easy to give her the space she needs because when you find your mate you are in absolute need. I just do not understand how she is not in pain, emotionally.
