Chapter 5

RIANA            

I got back from my run a while ago, late for training worst part I am not in a good mood. I think kicking some of their arses would be great right about now. I stand from the ground where I was previously relaxing and walk towards the training ground. I see them already, sweaty, and shirtless. Let me tell you men in our pack were created in the form gods yet for some weird reason they do not compare to Ryan. What the f**k did I just think of that? A sudden image of his face and body appeared in my mind and that made me lose focus. I need to snap out of it, I cannot be thinking of that good for nothing.

'Uhm Ria… Are you with us?' I hear Chase say as I get closer to where he is.

'Oh, what's up sugar wolf?' Chase laughs a little at how I have just addressed him. That is how I have always addressed him ever since I knew what good boys were for. At some point I thought we would end up together.

'I don't think you should be calling me that anymore.’ Chase says as he stares at me seriously.

'Ah, I see you are indirectly on about last night.’ I look at him annoyed.

'Everyone is on about it Riana, you can't really avoid it.’ Chase says his eyes look distant.

'I wish I could.’ I breathe out heavily and drag my fingers through my now untied hair.

'Why do you always run away from love?' Chase asks looking at me daring in the eyes.

'I didn't realise the topic shifted from late night to about us.’ I say in deep thought to what could have been us if I had let it.

'Riana stop kidding yourself, you made it pretty clear that they could never be an ‘us.’ I read between the lines long time ago.’ Chase says and turns from me aggressively.

'You're still on about the past?' I ask him shocked.

'f**k! You don't understand Riana I’m actually glad we didn't go down the road.’ Chase says with his back to me. I cannot see his face, but I can feel is pained expression from his body language.

‘You didn’t have to take it that far Chase, things in the past happen and some of them are meant to be forgotten, especially those that didn’t have much impact.’ This conversation escalated on another level, and I am also pissed at how rude he is acting right now.

'Get your act together Riana, he is Alpha and I'm sure as hell even your tough nature won't shake him off your back.’ Chase walks away leaving me standing alone with my own thoughts tearing and eating me up. I try to throw our conversation at the back of my head, but it is impossible. I need to get rid of my anger. I should use Chase because he cooked up my sleeping anger.

'Attention.’ I say as I run deeper into the field. I remove my shirt and remain with my sports bra.

'Yes, beta Riana.’ The squad say.

'At ease.’ They look relaxed now, so I carry on speaking, ‘okay let us have a two-on-two combat. Please choose your opponent. I'll go with Chase.’ I say and see him looking at me from behind the crowd with a knowing expression. Raid comes walking into the field also late, but the squad know their Alpha and show him respect.

Chase nods at the squad and walks towards me, ‘what you up to? You are looking livelier too.’

'I feel better after my run. Do you want to join the combat practise?’ I ask Raid.

'Combat in human or wolf form?’ Chase asks looking at me suspiciously.

'Human Raid, I don’t want to over work their bodies too soon, so are you going to join?’ I say trying to hide my true intentions strongly.

'No, I think I'll sit this go train my boys well'. Raid laughs and walks towards the bench and sits down. Chase finally walks towards me and stands in front of me, no hint of playfulness coming from him. I am glad he is the King of reading between the lines.

'No mercy?' He asks, even though he knows the answer to his own stupid question.

'No mercy sugar wolf.’ I say, smirking at him while clicking my knuckles.

The Blood Moon guards gather and pair each with each other and begin their fighting. I do not waste time as my hand curls into a fist and I am for Chase’s nose. My fist connects with the bridge of his nose, causing the blood from his nose to splatter on the ground. Chase stagers back a little before wiping his nose and coming back forward. The squad have decreased their pace in their combat and are now staring at Chase and me.

'It's on Riana.’ Chase says as he steadies himself.

'I do remember telling you no mercy jerk.’ I say looking at him.

'Guys let us keep the combat clean and within practise mood.’ Chase shouts from the bench giving us a warning glare but we just ignore him.

Chase clenches his fist and throws a heavy punch at me I dodged it as quickly as possible as he continues throwing punches at me. I ran towards him aiming to kick his chest, but he catches my leg and flings me across the ground. My back connects on the ground with a loud thud. I feel back burning from the impact, but I stand up any way. I run to him a tackle him hard, straddling him I punch him five times, but he manages to block the punches and quickly changes our position. I am now underneath him now. As he is about to retaliate, we hear my dad’s voice and the crowd disperses, leaving Chase and I in dad’s direct view.

'Play time’s over you two, knock it off.’ Dad says sounding angry. Chase quickly stands up and bows his head.

'Alpha.’ Chase says looking embarrassed to be caught in the act. Raid shakes his head from where he was seated and walks out the ground looking annoyed at me.

'You are dismissed, all of you. Riana stay behind.’ Dad say as they all walk out the grounds, leaving only my dad and I behind. 

'Were you trying to distress yourself by fighting the omega?' Dad says almost looking disappointed at my actions. Note I do not care, it felt good punching Chase.

'It was practise dad.’ I say still seated on the ground, he extends his hand and I use it to stand up.

'Tomorrow we are going on a road trip.’ Dad says and he looks away from me, knowing very well I do not buy into his nonsense.

'We don’t do that kind of stuff'. I roll my eyes at him.

'Well, I see I got caught, I'll tell you since you couldn’t help being sarcastic. We will be going to the Black Sword Pack. Your brother and omega will be tagging along.’ Dad says seriously this time.

'I don't want to go, plus isn't it soon?’ I look at him upset that he would think I am looking forward to this.

'For all I know your mate might be impatient, but he is holding himself back, you don’t want an upset Alpha after you.’ Dad says.

'Cut me some slack, I’m not a snack pops.’ I roll my eyes even more.

'So, you're telling me you don't feel the pull?’ Dad asks raising his eyebrows.

'Ewe, dad we are not going there…. Not my s*x life.’ I say looking at him shockingly.

'Wait you have a s*x life when the f**k did that happen?' Dad says looking at me sternly.

'Why do you even want me to go? Were you not upset last night?’ I change to topic.

'Do not change the subject and I'm over it you should get over it too.’ Dad continues.

'Okay we're done here. I'm off to get cleaned.’ I start walking away and I hear dad speak behind me. 

'Don't act out tomorrow. They will be your new family.’

'What's wrong with the one I have now?' I mutter under my breath.

'What was that?' Dad asks

'Nothing old man.’  I continue in the direction of our house. Night-time has come and I still cannot get any sleep and it is going close to midnight. I am wide awake because I keep remembering the talk dad and I had later today. My trails of thoughts come to a quick stop when I hear a faint knock on my bedroom door.

'Come me in'. I say when he has already entered and sat on my bed.

'Hey Riana, or you, okay?’ Raid asks.

'Yeah, I’m good what do you want?’ I ask him curiously.

'I wanted to apologize for this morning during breakfast I was a little out of place.’ Raid says and smiles at me.

‘Yeah, that’s all right I was moody too.’ I say still laying on my bed.

'On a serious note, you need to apologize to Chase.’ Raid says suddenly turning serious.

'Why the hell do I need to apologise to chase?' I ask him shocked at his craziness.

'Riana you deliberately chose to fight him so you could punch him.’ Raid sighs as he says this, rubbing his hand over his face.

'I decided to fight him with good reason.’ I roll my eyes annoyed at him.

'That just doesn’t cut why you had to embarrass him like that. He is going to be my beta when you leave. You bruised his ego, and I don’t like it.’ Raid says looking at me like I am draining energy from him.

'Oh wow, I didn’t know that even with my own family I’m always the wrong one. Do me a favour get out of my room?’ I turn my body away from his figure and keep quiet.

‘I didn’t mean it like that.’ Raid sighs loudly I choose to ignore him, and he gives up from talking to me. Raid rises from my bed and walks to the door, before leaving he wishes me a good night.

'Good night.’ He whispers and leaves me alone with my thoughts can. Nothing will be good about this night, not when I must see Ryan’s face tomorrow.

Dimitri was seated on his office chair, holding on tightly to her waist. She was straddling him and kissing him deeply, stopping any room for breathing breaks. The only sounds heard in the room were sloppy deep kisses. The door to the office opens and a glorious man stands at the door, stands at the door, and waits for them to acknowledge his presence. Dimitri notices the man at the door and throws the woman off his lap.

'What the f**k was that for Dimitri?' The woman thrown on the floor says.

'Shut up hoe.’ Dimitri says, while the woman on the floor huffs before standing up.

'You're still messing around with this werewolf.’ The man at the door says while staring at Dimitri.

'I'm just passing time.’ Dimitri says looking scared.

‘Stop messing around with these creatures Dimitri, I don’t want unnecessary trouble.’ The man by the door says and walks away from Dimitri.

'Did you say you were passing time?' The woman asks him angrily.

'Get over yourself. What pack did you say you're from again?' Dimitri asks in deep thought.

'The Blood Moon Pack, why?' The woman says, curiously.

'Excellent, I'll need you to do a little task for me.’ Dimitri smiles at this revelation.

'What would that be?' The woman presses on.

'Simple love, betray your pack for me. I will turn you into a vampire if you do this.’ Dimitri says clearly lying through his teeth.

'For you Dimitri I'll do anything.’ She says looking at him lovingly.
