RIANA
I refused to speak with anyone as we were now driving home from the ceremony. You would be surprised how quick news about finding your mate can fly. Driving past all the houses on the way to our own is hell. I am sure everyone will want to ask me about today, tomorrow and I am personally not ready for it. How do people pass on information so quick? It still amazes me really. I already came across people talking about me on the Wolf-Web and Super-Natural gram. I am extremely pissed, although I do not know at whom. I am angry at myself or my family for dragging me to that dam ceremony. If I had not gone, I would have been free like I always am. The goddess had to pair me up with an Alpha of all partners, right now I am fuming in anger. How can I stay hidden from the world if being mated with an Alpha gives me the full spotlight?
'Riana....' I hear my mom call from the front seat in the car. I refuse to look up, although I can hear her through the loud music blasting through my ear pods.
'Riana, I know you can hear me; we are werewolves, and we are particularly good when it comes to hearing.’ I lift my head and notice dad looking at me through the review mirror, and he suddenly stops looking at me.
'Riana you need to talk about it at some point. Look there is no need to feel sad because you found your mate before me.’ Raid says trying to lighten up the atmosphere, but I am not in the mood for his stupid remarks.
'Raid, I'm in no mood for your jokes so stop.’ I throw him an angry glare and continue scrolling through my phone.
'Wow Riana, I was only trying to make you feel better.’ Raid commented sadly.
'I don't remember asking you.’ I say not bothering to look at him again.
'Dam it Riana, do you have to be like this when someone is trying to be nice to you?' At this point Raid’s voice has risen a bit from anger because of my response.
'Okay that's enough you two.’ I hear mom say calmly like she did not just hear Raid and I exchanging words with each other. It is surprising how dad has managed to remain quiet throughout our drive home.
'We have arrived, Riana go and sleep it out. We will have this conversation properly tomorrow because this has to be spoken about eventually.’ Mom says calming watching my reaction through the review mirror.
‘Okay Luna, no problem you are the boss anyways.’ I say while opening the door and getting out the car. I unlock the front door to our house and walk up the stairs to my room.
I could hear my parents talking about me downstairs. I wish I could just block out their voices and just shut down completely. Alcohol would really be of significant use to me right now. Unfortunately, I do not want to meet them on my way to the kitchen. If my wanted to whisper, it really was not working because if I could hear them, I am that Raid could hear their conversation as well.
'She needs to fix up her act Rose, they are worthy allies that we need.’ I hear Dad says.
'Are you kidding me right now Alpha Max? She's your daughter and she's really confused and angry, is that all you can think about at this moment?' Mom shouts back at dad angrily.
'Keep your voice down Rose.’ Dad tried to hush mom
'Do you want her being unhappy and uncomfortable in an environment she’s not used too?' Mom still shouts not caring that dad just told her to keep her voice down.
'Rose I was different in the past any you know that I've apologized so many times. It seems like every time we discuss mates it brings us back to us.’ Dad says, finally sounding defeated.
'It still hurts me till this day Alpha Max, I love you but getting to the part of loving you was a complicated process. Do you think I want my daughter going through the same dam thing?’
'I'm sorry if I dug up old wounds Rose, I didn’t mean too.’ Dad says.
'Love isn't bought It's earned; I don't want our children knowing how we started let us keep it that way.’ Mom says and I hear her footsteps walking up the stairs. It is too late for them to hide behind the curtains because I finally know that their mating was not all pretty at all.
Lying on my bed I cannot wrap my head around the fact that my parents did not love each other when they first met. Why does this mate connection have to pull people closer? I am simply scared I will lose myself through the journey, so I finally decide to sleep and let my problem vanish through my dream world.
'We need to attack them now Dimitri.’ The pale looking man says.
'No, I've just received disturbing news.’ The man named Dimitri says, looking deep in thought.
'What can be so disturbing to disrupt our plans Dimitri?' The woman sitting comfortably on the red couch says.
'Riana has found her mate and he is an Alpha. This will make her stronger than she already is.’ Dimitri says, angrily flings the glass filled with blood at the wall.
'That should not be a problem, we're vampires come on!' The pale creature says
'Lax her mate is an Alpha in the Black Sword Pack. Do you think she will be easy prey?’ Dimitri shouts furiously at the man named Lax.
'What! An Alpha as her mate, that is going to be tricky. We need to break them before they are made. We need to deal with her before they can mate. We need to deal with this before the full moon.’ The woman says standing up from the couch.
'Patience Tabitha, we need to strike when we see the iron is most hot. We can’t be impulsive because we are dealing with two Alphas, believe it or not.’ Dimitri says.
'Gosh Dimitri! Why are you making things so difficult? I’m sure I can handle them.’ Tabitha says looking annoyed at Dimitri.
'This discussion ends here; I need to go feed and meet someone.’ Dimitri gets up and walks out of the room, leaving behind Lax and Tabitha. Dimitri stocks into the night to hunt down one or more unlucky creatures that dare to walk the night.
