The Alpha Queen

Chapter 17

-Sean's POV-

I ran up to Andrew and Queen Beatrice, then Andrew and I ran off to play. 

After a minute we stopped, "What do you want to play, Sean?"

"Come on, lets go listen to our parents?"

His eyes went wide, "If we get caught, we're going to be in a lot of trouble!"

"We won't get caught if we're quiet."

"Alright, come on." 

We run until Andrew grabs my arm and stops me. He puts a finger over his mouth and waves for me to follow him. We tip toe over to an open window and duck under it and listen.

My dad, Walter, was talking. "One of the high angels came to me with information of an unknown demon putting together an army. I do not know how he came to know this information, but when I looked into this information it proved true. Across the globe there have been a greater number of supernaturals allowing evil to take them. I have no proof, but I think that there are many angels who are being tempted as well. From what I have gathered, this unknown demon wants to rule over all of the species. Considering what we know about demons, they probably want to destroy the humans."

'Will the angels fight?" That's King Cameron, he sounds worried.

"I don't know. I can't keep the angels from being tempted and I'm only a mid level warrior angel."

"You are the first to be mated with a supernatural, are you not?"

"I believe so. I have had no contact with the high angel I mentioned, so I do not know if I will be accepted back into our realm."

No one spoke for a while, but King Cameron broke the silence. "You must have a plan if you are here."

My dad replied, "We need to reach out to all of the supernatural leaders. They need to know this information and we need to know who will fight with us. All rivalry will have to be put aside. If we fight one another and not unite in defeating the demons, we will surly loose. Adeera is going to work on uniting the wolf packs, I will begin putting feelers out and see who is receptive to meeting with us. We are hoping that you will help in spreading the word." 

"We will definitely help spread the word and you can count on my people to fight. We are allies with the pixies and elves, I am sure that they will also help. It would be helpful if we could have a meeting with all the leaders, but that creates to large of a target." 

"If your allies would like to speak to me directly, I would very much like to meet them and create a bond with them. I am not new to this realm, but I have not met many of our races."

I motioned to Andrew for us to leave, we walked over to the edge of the woods.

"Andrew, what do you know about demons?"

"Hardly anything. Just that they are dark angels, they enjoy reeking havoc...they hate the humans. Why?"

"I feel like I have a role to play in this war. Maybe not now, but in the future. I want to learn as much as I can about the demons." 

"Well, I'll look through our library here and you can look through yours. Next time we see each other we can share information." 

"Thanks. Lets play since their still talking." We grin at each other and run to find the other colts. 

Before we know it mom and dad called for me, it was time to go home. I let my mind drift to what I know about demons. 

They are evil, with no love in them. I wonder if I can find information about the demons who were able to turn back into angels...or their original species. Dad said they are recruiting from all species, so there are all kinds of demons. 

My tutor says that I am doing really well with my studies, but I'm going to have to work harder at reading I think. Starting tonight, I'll read everything that I can get my hands on. I listen as mom and dad talk about how well their meeting went. 

Dad is happy that King Cameron will reach out to the elves and pixies. Like all species who live in another realm, their entrances are secret and very few know where they are. Dad is going to focus on speaking with the dragons and vampires this week. 

Dragons are known to look down on other species, but dad hopes that he can make them understand that even they cannot defeat the demons should their numbers continue growing as they have been. Vampires are known to be cruel and only out for themselves. There is a vampire king who keeps his race in line so their are not discovered by humans, but they rarely help others. 

I think dad just wants to see what side they will be fighting on. Vampires have no soul to turn good or bad, but they will choose the side they believe to benefit their race. 

Mom wants to continue with dad's coronation on Friday and the alpha meeting on Saturday. I've been around alpha wolves before, but I was mostly always caged and didn't speak to them. I'm thinking that it could get very chaotic. 

After dinner we have a pack meeting. I thought the plan that my parents have in place is the best plan for now, but the others in the room looked very concerned. Mom let her soothing aura out and that seemed to calm everyone down a little. I was surprised that dad will be helping the warriors train, but it will help them with their confidence. 

After that was done, everyone was ready to go to bed. It had been a long day of talking strategy. 

The next morning, I was up early so I got myself ready for the day and started reading. After a while mom comes to get me, I'm so into my book that mom had to make me put it down long enough to make it down the stairs. I get some teasing from my grandparents and uncles, but soon forget about them because of my story. 

Mr. Lee, my tutor, made me put the book down while I had my math and history lessons. 

Soon it was lunch time and I met my family for lunch. I felt mom's anxiety and gave her a hug, hoping that my scent would help her calm a little. I think it did, she took deep breaths and kissed my forehead. Dad soon joined us, my uncles teased mom when she jumped into dad's arms. I laughed with everyone and waiting to see if dad would talk about his meeting. 

He didn't and all to soon I had to leave for my science lesson. 

We were almost done for the day when I asked Mr. Lee how I would go about finding certain subjects in the library. He explained that fiction and school material was all located in one area and everything else in another. 

"I wanted to learn more about angels, how would I go about finding that information?" No need to let him no I'm looking into demon information. 

"Follow me, let me show you." I follow his to the library and we go to the second floor. 

It looks like these books are separated by specie. Wow, I did not realize that there were so many!

"Here are the books about angels, I would red this one. It will tell you about their beginning." He hands me the book and I thank him. "You will have to check this book out if you leave here with it. There is only one copy of most of these books, many are hand written journals. If one is needed and not in the library we have to know how to track it down." I nod and follow him downstairs. 

I walk up to the front desk where a lady is reading. When she sees me she smiles and takes the book from me to write down it's information. She has really pretty blonde hair and green eyes.

"What's your name, young man?"

"Sean, ma'am."

She looks up and smiles, "Oh, you must be the queen's son. It's nice to finally meet you. You can call me Lisa." She hands me back the book, "If you have any questions or can't find what you're looking for you can always come find me." 

"Thank you." I smile back at her and decide to go on the back porch and start reading my new book. 

I'm halfway through when Austin walks out, "Hey, man. Everyone is looking for you. It's dinner time."

I look up, it's weird being so into a book and then coming back to the present. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to the time." I close the book and stand up.

"Learning about angels, huh? Anything interesting?"

"I'm learning about their creation. For a while the angels lived in harmony until one decided he wanted to rule the entire angel race. He was jealous that their Creator put so much love and support into the human race, who he also created. This angel, who wanted to lead, was not stronger than their Creator and couldn't take over. Unfortunately, he convinced a large group of angels to be on his side. Their hearts became complete with darkness, love and light was pushed out."

Austin looked like he was thinking and eyed me for a minute, like he was trying to read my mind. 

"This interest in the angel race, wouldn't have anything to do with our upcoming war with the demons, would it?" 

I'm no liar, but I don't want him to stop me. "I'm just learning." 

Austin again eyes me for a minute, but then gives me a sly smile. "Let's get some dinner."

We meet everyone in the dining room and I listen to their discussion.
