The whole way home, Sean didn't stop talking about how much fun he had with Andrew. We chuckled and listened and he talked about how excited he was for Saturday.
After we finally got Sean settled for the night, Walter and I went to our room to discuss the day.
"Adeera, why did they attack again today? You didn't capture anyone today."
"They had a messenger this time, he killed himself before I could get to him. He said that "he" knew that you are an angel and planning to build an army against him."
We looked at each other for a moment before he spoke. "I don't know how he could have found out, but it was only a matter of time before he did."
"This demon is really starting to piss me off." I huffed and was trying to control my anger. It wouldn't help anyone for my power to be out of control.
Walter comes over to hug me, instantly Alex and I calm. She begins to growl in my mind out of contentment.
"At least we don't have to hide my specie anymore."
"And if you're ready, we can set your coronation date." I move my head up to look at him.
He holds my face in his hands, "Are you sure?"
"Of course I'm sure! Why wouldn't I be sure? We were made for each other-"
He cut me off with a kiss. He slowly moved us towards the bed and laid us down.
I've never been intimate with someone before and I'm so glad. Nothing could have compared to how loved I felt tonight.
Alex encouraged me to mark Walter and I did. I was surprised when I felt him marking me as well. Moon Goddess must have blessed him, allowing his canines to lengthen just for this.
The next morning I woke feeling happy and grateful. Except they weren't my feelings. I turn in my mate's arms to find him watching me. I feel so overwhelmed with love.
I love you, my precious angel.
Oh wow! He used our bond to communicate. I smirk back.
I love you too, my handsome stalker.
Stalker?
Yeah. You know, because you followed me before you revealed yourself.
He smiled, rolled his eyes, and started tickling me.
Sean came bursting through the door heading straight for the bed. I quickly wrap the blankets tighter and we chuckle as Sean hurls himself at Walter.
"Sean, you're up early." Walter says, still chuckling.
"I'm excited for Saturday! Can we go see Andrew today?"
"Not today, my sweet boy. They'll be here in two days, the time will go by quickly." I smiled and put a hand in his cheek.
"Why don't you go get dressed and ready for breakfast?" Walter picks him up and sets him on his feet next to the bed.
"Okay." He runs back over to his room and we chuckle after him.
We also get up and ready for the day. Sean comes back and sits on our bed while we finish and then we head to breakfast together.
Like I told Sean, before we knew it, it was Saturday morning and we all help the omegas get everything ready outside. I had invited anyone in our territory to join us if they weren't on patrol or were working. Already, there were a lot of people. The pups had gone off to the side to play while the adults visited and got tables ready.
While I'm setting up a table I hear, "Queen Adeera! Queen Adeera!"
I turn and Andrew is running at full speed over to me. I brace myself and hold my arms out for him. I catch him, but we both stumble to the ground. I laugh and help him to his feet.
"Welcome, Andrew. It is good to see you again. How are you?"
"I'm good! Where's Sean?"
I point over to where the pups are and Andrew runs in that direction. I'm still chuckling when Beatrice comes over to me.
"I'm so sorry about that! He hasn't seemed to master stopping."
"It's no problem. It is nice to see you all again. Sean has been talking nonstop about his time with Andrew and asking if he can go and play with him."
"The same with Andrew, he's been looking forward to this visit." We chuckle and a male centaur comes over to join us. "Queen Adeera, this is Cameron, King of the centaurs.
I nod my head out of respect, "Just Adeera, please. Titles have no place at a picnic." We all smiled and I shook hands with King Cameron. Walter made his way over and wrapped an arm around me. "This is my mate, Walter. Honey, this is Queen Beatrice and King Cameron of the centaurs."
He bowed his head in respect. "It is a pleasure to meet you both."
Beatrice and Cameron nodded as well, knowing he will soon be the king of werewolves.
"Before you leave today, Walter and I would like to have a private word with you both." I say.
"Trouble?" King Cameron asks, his face showing concern.
I nod once, "Yes, but let us enjoy the day as much as we can." They nod and we introduce members to each other. Soon Sean, Andrew, and the young centaurs come walking over to us.
Sean looks extremely angry.
"Sean, what's wrong?" Walter asks him.
"A couple of the popular kids convinced everyone not to play with the young centaurs."
I said nothing and started walked over to the group of wolf pups playing. I felt Walter, the King and Queen, and our children follow me.
When the pups saw me they all stopped and gathered together. I let some of my power out, not enough to hurt them, but enough to remind them who is their queen. Their wolves have not woken yet, but they will still respond to my power.
I stood there and stared at each face, two in particular caught my attention. They were looking at our guests with disgust.
"I will not tolerate discrimination in my pack. Our guests are our equals and you will treat them as such. Do I make myself clear?" I don't yell, but there is steal in my voice. Most of the pups are shaking and nodding their heads. Except those two boys.
I walk closer to them, making them look at me.
"I will not tolerate discrimination in my pack." They gulp and nod, but they have defiance in their eyes. "If you continue to act inappropriately, you and your families will be forced to go home immediately and I will choose your punishment after the picnic. Do I make myself clear?"
There is still defiance in their eyes, but I hope they understand the gravity of their choices.
I walk back to the group as all of the young wolves and centaurs begin playing. "Son, come here a moment."
He runs over to me, "Thanks, mom."
I smile at him, "I want you to keep an eye on the young centaurs. If there are anymore problems, you come to me. Understand?"
He nods and hugs me before going back to play.
We all stay and watch them play for a few minutes.
"King Cameron, Queen Beatrice. I apologize on behalf of my young wolves. I will not tolerate that kind of behavior." I look them in their eyes so they know I'm serious.
"Please use our first names, Adeera. We know this is new for everyone. Centaurs and wolves haven't been allies, much less friends in centuries. We thank you for looking after our young." Cameron speaks and nods his head to me.
We walk back to the picnic area and continue visiting with each other and meeting one another's pack members. It was almost lunch time when Sean and the young centaurs come back to us looking sad and defeated.
Sean comes to stand in front of me, but doesn't speak. In fact he isn't even making eye contact.
I lift his chin so he has to meet my eyes. "Tell me what happened."
He still doesn't speak, so Andrew steps closer. "Those boys from earlier started teasing us again and was being mean. Sean tried to stop them, but they just made fun of him and his real father. They even said that you shouldn't be queen." He was whispering by the time he got to the end.
I nodded and mind linked Abrham and Austin. I pulled Sean closer and whispered, "You are my son, mine and Walter's. You remember that." He nodded, but still wouldn't meet my eyes.
Walter came over and hugged us both for a minute before I pulled away to speak to my young wolves. I was flanked by my beta and gamma. If I do say so myself, we do look like a scary bunch.
Me with my black hair braided to the side and my combat shoes pounding the ground with every step. Abrham's blond hair, just long enough to sway in the breeze and his very large muscles showing through his button down shirt. Austin's military style brown hair, his muscles almost as big as Abrham's.
The pups saw us and they all froze. "Everyone, except these two, go get lunch." I pointed at the two that I wanted to stay. They all scattered and I asked Abrham and Austin to get the parents of these kids.
I didn't say anything, but stared at them both while we waited. They tried to keep eye contact, but eventually gave up and kept their eyes on the ground. Soon two sets of parents were walking over with my beta and gamma.
The fathers looked angry while the mothers just looked tired. I think I saw a bruise peeking out from of the the she wolf's long sleeved shirts.
One of the father's spoke up, "What's the meaning of this?"
"I will not tolerate disrespect from you or these boys!" I said loudly and focused my aura on the man. He was brought to his knees and forced to submit.
The other man took a step forward, but was met with Abrham's chest. I also forced my power on him and he too was brought to his knees.
I yelled this time, "I will not tolerate disrespect!." I paused and talked normally. "Anymore by you or your sons and you will be banished from my territory. Am I clear?" They all nod and I reign in some of my power so the men could stand.
One of the women stepped forward gingerly. Was it me or because something was wrong with her leg?
"How were the boys disrespectful, my queen?"
"They disrespected our guests, my son, and my behind my back. This is their second warning since the arrival of the centaurs. I told them that if they were disrespectful again then they and their families would no longer be welcome at todays picnic."
She nodded and stepped back, next to the other woman. The two men looked furious and the boys looked more scared of them than me. Something is very wrong here.
"Beta, Gamma, take these men to cells. I wish to speak to these women and pups without them present."
The men came forward to attack, but Abrham and Austin easily subdued them and took them away.
I turned to the boys, "Sit." They did and I noticed they were shaking, but took a breath of relief. I turned to the women who now looked scared to death. I looked them over and the both fidgeted. "Lift your sleeves, ladies."
I let out my peaceful aura, hoping to help them calm down a little. If I had to guess, these ladies were sisters. They looked so much alike. One lady had bruises on both arms in the shapes of her mate's hands. The other had ugly scratches from claws on her arms.
I looked away, trying to get a hold on my anger.
"Did they lay hands on your sons?"
They nodded and the one with bruises whispered, "Yes."
Walter, Cameron, and Beatrice made their way over to us while I was getting a hold on my anger. They saw the bruises and scratches. They looked every bit as angry as I was.
Walter grabbed my hand helping me calm my anger.
I breathed deep and looked at the women in front of me. "Right now, I'm going to take the four of you to the hospital to be treated for any necessary injuries and then you will each be given rooms in the mansion. Are those men your mates? Is that why your wolves didn't fight back?"
They nodded and I had to take another deep breath. I had the boys come over to us and they each went to their mother in a protective manner. Walter and I walked them to the hospital.
"Cameron, Beatrice, go have some lunch. We'll be along in a while." The nodded and went to eat.
There were no serious injuries so I took them to rooms in the pack house.
"You all should rest, I'll have food brought up for you all. Tomorrow, I will speak to each of you about about your mates' consequences."
Everyone nodded and I spoke to an omega about bringing food up for them.
The rest of our picnic went well. The young wolves and centaurs played with no further problems. By the time Cameron and Beatrice said it was time to leave, Sean and Andrew were asking when they could play together again. Beatrice and I exchanged phone numbers and told the young ones that we would be in touch on Monday.
We helped with clean up and by then everyone was ready for an early night.
