Chapter 6

1461 Words
Today is the day that I become the official Alpha Queen.  I should be happy right? This has always been my destiny, although it wasn't supposed to be quite this soon.  All I can think about though is that my parents should be here. They were supposed to hand the kingdom over to me.  I'm still in bed, part of me just wants to stay here and shut the whole world out. How can I be happy today? However, the other part of me knows my parents would want me to try and find joy. They have been grooming me all of my life to take over.  -I'm with you, Honey. -Thanks. Alex. Before I can move to get up, Abrham and Austin come barging in. I see they brought me coffee! They have still been with me at nights, but had gotten up early to make sure that all of the last minute details were being taken care of.  "Time to get up, Alpha Queen!" Abrham hands me the coffee while Austin opens my curtains.  I smile at Abrham's comment, it did have a nice ring to it. "Thanks, guys. I couldn't do this without you both." "We know, Babe!" Austin says and they both put a hand to their hearts and pretend to be all choked up.  "Oh, the funny boys are in town today." I roll my eyes at them and get up. "Come on, you know you love us." Abrham says, looking hurt. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever you gotta tell yourself."  "Austin, I think our Princess is giving us the brush off." "I think you're right, Ab. What are we gunna do about it?" They smirk at each other. I put my coffee down and get into a fighting stance, I know what's coming. "Remember I have my wolf this time, boys." That didn't detour them, they ran over to me and began tickling me. But I turn the tables on them when I push them and the go flying across the room. I laugh, "Now that was funny." They groan and slowly get up. "Abrham, we gotta work on our game." Austin rubs his head while Abrham rubs his back.  "Yeah, we'll work on strategy tomorrow." I just smirk at them, still chuckling.  "Okay babe, how would you like to spend the morning? We could go for a run or watch movies." Austin asks while sitting on my bed.  "Why don't we go for a run and then we can come back here for movies and food."  They agree and they leave so we can all change into work out clothes. We spend a couple hours outside, stretching, running, and a few impromptu sparring matches. When our stomachs begin to growl, we go inside and shower. Austin and Abrham come in caring lots of food!  We spend the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon pigging out and watching movies. Around five, dinner is brought in for us and we eat quickly knowing that Camilla and Sheila will be in soon to get me ready for the ceremony. We were right to eat fast. Not ten minutes after our food arrived, the ladies came rushing in. They brought their dresses and accessories so that we could help each other in the same room. They shoo the boys out and make them take our empty dishes and trash with them.  I run a bath and soak for a good half hour before I get out and wash my hair in the shower. When I'm done, the other ladies take their own quick shower before we all get started.  I'm not at all talented with making my hair look elegant or putting make up on. Camilla starts doing something with my hair while Sheila begins on my make up. When they're done, I hardly recognize myself. My hair is in a lovely bun with braids wrapped at the base. Some hairs were pulled out to give it a partial messy look, but still elegant for a queen. Sheila has done smoky eye shadow design and basically made my face sparkle.  I get dressed and watch as they do each other's hair and then do their own make up. "I really hope that Abrham and Austin's mates are good with hair and make up." I was mostly just talking to myself, but both ladies laugh.  "The Moon Goddess knows your weaknesses, don't worry. She'll make sure someone is around to help you." Camilla keeps chuckling. Soon we're all ready and night has fallen. Camilla and Sheila go ahead of me to find their mates. I make my may to the front porch and walk up the isle to the make shift platform. The elder, Abrham, Austin, and their parents are waiting for me and everyone else moves to stand when they see me. I chose to have my ceremony outside, instead of inside. If given the choice, I'd rather be outside than inside. It had been decorated beautifully.  White chairs had been set up for the attendees. There was no need to set up any kind of microphone since werewolves will easily hear everything. Twinkly lights had been strung up and candles lit the pathway. The platform was decorated similarly  with lights hung and candles around the perimeter.  When I step on the platform, I kneel in front of the elder as he begins to speak. "Today we are here to celebrate a new leader for our kingdom. We mourn the loos of our last Alpha King and Luna Queen, but we celebrate their daughter continuing their legacy to love and lead our people.  Do you, Adeera Joy Francis, accept to become the Alpha Queen of the werewolf kingdom?" "I do." "Do you, Adeera Joy Francis, promise to lead us well and justly?" "I solemnly promise to do so." The elder then brings forward the ceremonial goblet and knife. I stood and the elder cut my palm just enough for my to squeeze some blood into the cup. As I did so, the wind stirred around my and I felt my power increase.  "I give you our Alpha Queen!"  Everyone rose and clapped, some even let out some whistles.  After a few minutes, I put my hand up to quiet them all.  "Tonight, I will also announce my Beta and Gamma." I motioned for the boys to step forward. "I give you your Beta Abrham and your Gamma Austin!" They also received claps and whistles.  At this point in the ceremony I am to run with my wolves in wolf form, it will also be my first time shifting. I go into a single person tent to take my dress off and shift.  -Ready, Alex? -You bet, Honey. -Tell me what to do. -You've seen our wolf form, think about it looks like and let me come to the front of your mind. Don't fight the pain. I do as she says and I feel her taking the drivers seat, so to speak. What surprised both of us was, there was no pain. Within seconds we had shifted, whereas it usually takes much longer for first shifts.  -Maybe it's because your a white wolf? -I don't know, Honey. But lets take the win. We walked out and heard the gasps of those that hadn't shifted yet. Everyone bowed, both wolves and human forms alike. We was larger than all of the alpha wolves and Alex held our head high. She howled at the moon and began to run. My Beat and Gamma were right behind me with their parents behind them. Everyone else filed in behind us.  It was amazing to run in wolf form! I felt the power in our legs as we ran, I didn't want to stop. After an hour, wolves started heading back to the pack house. Abrham and Austin stayed with me and we headed back after another half hour. Alex went back to our little tent to shift back and I put a robe on. Someone took my clothes and left me a robe to put on.  "Guys, that was absolutely amazing! I know you wanted to keep my wolf quiet a little longer, but that was incredible!" I wasn't even this happy when I met my mate! They laughed with me, I guess happy to see me happy. "Oh and next weekend, we need to do something nice for the pack. Everyone has worked so hard and so much has happened in a very short amount of time." The nod and we all go upstairs and head to bed.  -Alex, thank you. That was incredible!  -We are a team Adeera, you never have to thank me for shifting. -I'm still sad, but it was nice to find joy in something again.
