A Tale of Two Cities, reimagined during Partition, India/Pakistan in 1947. A poet slowly gaining popularity for her enthralling verses by day and a messenger of small rebellions against the British occupations by night, Lahore's Saima is head over heels in love with Sana. Sana lives in Amritsar, and she yearns to join Saima. She must first finish laboring in a camp, fulfilling the debt her family owes to greedy lenders. Dressed as a man, she completes the labor in her father's place. Deep in Amritsar, estranged Rangeela notices Sana, whom he notices strangely looks like...him. Their three lives intertwine as impending whispers of war spread. The British might finally be leaving. What will they leave in their wake? Borders will be drawn, lives will be torn, sacrifices will be made in this new take on the Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.
