Chapter 9

1133 Words
Isla I was asked on my way here if walking in on Eamonn in the throne room would be worth getting me killed, and I had an answer. Yes, it will be worth it. Maybe I would have the chance to know why he would turn his back on my sister, his mate, because she was a little unlucky in her dumbass adventure, just before I die. He didn't even give me a chance to speak to her before he threw her out of the park. I don't know her whereabouts right now. What if she's dead? I'm pointing this gun directly at the Alpha of Black Park, the Alpha of my Park, without fear of death. Although I doubt he would want to show his thorough form, his cruelty to the people present in the throne room. I, Ellie, and my godfather have been witnesses to his cruelty. He sits on the throne, glaring at the gun I held out to him. “How foolish could you be, Isla? You didn't only disrupt my meeting with the tillers before it started; you pointed a gun at your Alpha? You know you can't kill me with a gun loaded with silver slugs, right?” “I know, Eamonn, you're an ancient werewolf, yes. But it would be just enough to keep you in a severe condition for a pretty long time once it hits straight to your heart. I can assure you I am very good with my aiming, unlike Ellie. I sensed two guards approaching from the park; Eamonn called them off just immediately, “Guards, let her have her show, will you?” He motions to them to dismiss their assigned position, and they do. “How could you be so cruel to someone you call your mate, Alpha?” I began again, hatred jolted through me as I spoke. There were murmurs amongst the people; he glared at me, but I'm not scared at this point. Now that he's sent Ellie out of the Park house, I should as well follow suit. I wouldn't be the one at the receiving end of his wickedness. He was so quick to throw her out of his life; I always knew his love for my sister wasn't strong. And now he will have to be quick to give me a reply; if not, I wouldn't hesitate to put him down temporarily. “You were nowhere to be seen when Ellie came back in the early hours of the morning, with the stench of vampire blood on her. She betrayed me; she betrayed us, and you expect me to shelter her?” “No one told me you sent her away from the park till it was too late.” “Really? No one told you, or you just never cared?” “I wouldn't be pointing a gun at my alpha if I didn't care.” Eamonn scoffed. He stood up from his chair and descended down the stairs towards me. “So now you're here to play the heroine and defend your sister, who has betrayed you, us as a park?” “My gut tells me Ellie didn't just wander off to get bitten by a vampire; it's your…” “What? It's my doing, isn't it?” I asked as he approached me slowly; I took a few steps backwards. “You said it yourself,” I warmed my finger on the trigger, ready to shoot him. “I'm right here, Isla.” He said, stretching out his arms. “Take your shot and see if that would ever change the fact that your sister is nowhere to be found.” I was hesitant for a moment. “Come on, what are you waiting for!” he spat out, a vile smirk on his face. He asked for it. There it goes. At least if my sister would be out there killed, he too, he deserves a few pains of near-death. Everything happened just as fast. A portal was open just next to Eamonn, and my godfather got in the way of the silver slugs; he fell to the ground just immediately. My whole world ceased to move; Murray winced with so much pain once his body touched the floor. The gun I held in my hand fell to the ground. The plan to end the life of my Alpha had turned on me. I fell to the ground beside Murray; he held the spot I had hit with his left hand. Blood stained the upper side of his body, including his hand. I reached to press a hold on where he held as well. “I'm so sorry, father. Please stay with me,” I whispered to him. One look at his pain-filled gaze brought tears to my eyes. His eyes were filled with pain, but he smiled at me. The same smile he gave me when I had done something good. I had just shot him, and in a few minutes from now I will be dead. His alpha blood wouldn't help him. “It's not your fault, child. I'm lucky it didn't hit my heart.” He says as he takes his hands off the wounded spot. I made the shot just above his heart. “You still need to work on your aiming,” he joked. We had quite a number of people murmuring. I took one glance at who Eamonn stood close to us with his hands folded to his chest: “Too bad; I would have been right where your godfather is, in pains,” I watched him stroll back to the throne, holding my father to my chest, “Better luck next time, if there would be a next,” he said over his shoulder. “You wouldn't be this lucky if I found out my sister is dead, Eamon.” I couldn't hold in my tears, I let them roll down my cheeks as I spoke as I held my godfather close to me. The feeling of hatred filled me even more. If given a chance again, I wouldn't hesitate to pull a trigger on my alpha. I wonder how Ellie was able to keep up with him all along. “People of Black Park,” Eamonn ignored my statement and spoke to the audience present once he was seated in his chair, “As you could all see, your Alpha was about to be killed by his subjects before your very own eyes.” His voice bounced back in the walls of the throne room. He turned his gaze to me, his voice dropped coldly as he began speaking, “I got one question for you, Isla. Do you deserve to live or die for this act of attempted murder?”
