ANTHONY'S POV The knock on my office door pulled my attention away from the contract I was reviewing. Without looking up, I muttered, "Come in." The door creaked open, and Max stepped inside. One glance at his tense expression told me something was wrong. I raised a brow. "What is it?" He cleared his throat. "Sir, it's the police." Annoyance flared in my chest. What the f**k do they want this time? "Let them in," I said, leaning back in my chair. Max nodded and opened the door wider. Two officers strode in, their heads held high, acting like they owned the damn place. I didn't bother standing. Instead, I observed them with a bored expression, waiting for whatever bullshit they came up with this time. One of them, a burly man with a stiff posture, stepped forward.
