Chapter Thirty

2086 Words
Smith and Rebecca had successfully opened three portals that connect the Palace to the other four places of Harzenia, and now all the people of Palace were helping to get everything in order with the lead of the Royalties. Smith and Redina were assigned at the front of the Portal of Crymph, Rebecca and Elizabeth were in front of the portal going to Qouatilphus, Alexis was leading the Portal going to Pyrisium, and Jack was in front of Vainussei. While the other Hazzles working inside the Palace were assigned to fix the line of the Hazzles, and guide them to their rightful Portals. The rain had stopped from pouring and they were all outside the Palace now as the Portals were opened outside so they could all fall in line there in order and so that they could return to there places fast. Every Hazzle was in so much disappointment as they didn’t even see the reason why they were all in the Palace. They were never there to attend the Party, but to see the person to whom they have felt a very unusual strong presence and Qarath that they have felt coming from the Palace. “I wonder where that person whom we had all felt is. Having that strong Qarath is very unusual for Hazzles. It’s not even coming from any of the Royalties.” “That’s right. And I really wonder who it is that he or she even had exceeded the Royalties Qaraths.” Two Hazzles had been talking in front of Alexis and he was just listening, waiting for them to notice that it is already their term to get inside the Portal to Pyrisium. There was other gossip all around the Palace coming from different Hazzles, but the Royalties and the other Hazzles from the Palace had remained silent about it. When they are being asked by the Hazzles in front of the line, they will just smile and will let them enter the portal without saying anything, But Alexis is an exemption. “That person will show him or herself soon. But make sure you stay alive so you can witness it.” He said. The two Hazzles had glanced at him and bowed in front of him, before entering the Portal as they were both so amazed and embarrassed at the same time as they had seen and heard the only Prince of Harzenia talking to them just inches away from them. Alexis sighed as he watched them enter the portal beside him. *** They were done taking everyone back to their places before dusk. After they had finished, Rebecca closed all the portals using her Qarath as she had already learned how to use her Qarath for portals for just a little time. “I’ll get going.” Alexis said as they had sent the last Hazzles to their places. “Let’s just celebrate your Birthday with a simple dinner Al. Let’s have a toast.” The Queen said as she was staring at him. “I think we should at least change into comfortable clothes first Mom.” He said as he glanced towards everyone’s clothing. They were still wearing their Royals Gowns and Attires, and it must be so uncomfortable as they really are not used to wearing those kinds of clothes. They were only dressing up when there were important events in the Palace that they needed to be so formal. “Oh. Right.” Elizabeth nodded. “Let’s all do that. Let’s just meet at the Royal Dining.” She added. Alexis and Rebecca went up the Royal Staircase, leaving them all looking towards them. Elizabeth sighed, before directing her gaze towards the other three with her. “Ma, Pa. You should do the same. We’ll just call you later. And Jack, You can go first. I’ll just tell them to prepare the food.” “Will you be fine?” “Yeah.” She nodded and flashed a genuine smile to assure him. “Okay, then” The King directed his gaze towards his parents, after. “I’ll teleport you to your room Pa. It’s been a busy day especially for you.” He said. He both held them on their shoulders from behind them after waving goodbye to Elizabeth. They arrived inside their room and Jack left through their door after waving them goodbye. As soon as Jack left, Redina directed her gaze towards Smith who had turned his back to her as he already had the idea of what she was going to say, now that they were left by themselves. “So you knew her condition.” She started. He sighed as soon as he heard her say that. He was already expecting that as he had felt her gazes since they had left Elmira’s room. She just waited until they were alone together. “And you didn’t even say anything.” She added, but Smith still wasn’t looking at her. “It’s her decision not to tell anyone.” He said as he walked through their bed and sat at the edge of it. He was still holding the mirror that Elmira let them borrow to open the portal. “But what if she died without us knowing because she’s suffering? You should have at least told us.” “She won’t die, Red. Don’t worry.” He said. “And how sure of you about that?” She was so enraged about the fact that he didn’t even mention Elmira’s condition even to her, his wife. Her hands were crossed on her chest, furrows had formed into her brows, as he was looking at him. “They have been telling you the reason why, Red. She’s the Empress… that’s why she won’t die. ” He said. “You can take a shower first. I’ll just bring this back to her.” He stood up and went past her, who was just standing there, now staring at space. He stopped when he was already on the door, holding their door knob. “She’s the Empress, Red. Believe it or not.” He said as he opened the door. He closed it behind him and heaved a sigh as he walked down the hallway to Elmira’s room. *** “Here’s the plan.” Elmira was still lying on her bed, but now, she already recovered a little as all her Gemus had already reached their limit, but she was still feeling the pain they had caused her, but not the same as before that left her nearly dying. The three Gemus were preparing themselves for what Elmira was going to say, as it will be the most important part of how they will get the Gemus back to Emerald. “We’ll wait for her to get out of the Academy, before we will enter.” She said through their minds, as she was staring at the ceiling. She wanted to get a short sleep, but her body won’t let her even take a nap. “We will gather all the Gemus out there… I mean, you will. And we’ll transport them inside the forbidden forest, and we will use the Havhiah Purpureum to get them back to Emerald.” She said. The Three Gemus glanced towards each other as they only had one question in their head. “Why do we need to use that tree?” Sinn asked her through his mind as they were instructed to just talk through their minds. “That’s the fastest way we could use to enter Emerald. And that’s the only way left that connects Harzenia to Emerald. I left it for this kind of purpose.” “You mean, it’s like a portal?” Sinn asked again as he couldn’t believe what she was saying. Because they really have no any idea that Havhiah Tree is a door to Emerald. They thought that it was just merely a tree inside the forest. “Kind of? And it is that tree that gives Gemus another strength to stay longer in the land, not the Middlemist flower.” Sinn ran his hands through his hair as his eyes widened in surprise. “All this time we believe that the flower was the reason.” He said out loud. “You’re really unpredictable.” Savvy commented. Elmira looked towards them as they had just spoken through their mouths that she had prohibited them to do as it was too noisy for her ears. They all looked at the door when they heard a knock coming from out. “It’s the old man.” Sid commented that made Elmira glanced at him in disbelief, as he had just called her grandpa, old. We’ll that was the truth anyways, but for respect towards Elmira, he should not do that in front of her. “Open that door for the old man, Sid.” Elmira said as she was sitting on her bed, and leaning on her headboard to support her. “Elmira.” Smith had entered the room as soon as Sid opened the door for him. He didn’t even look towards Sid who had opened the door for him, as he doesn’t care about the Gemus inside. “Pa." Elmira smiled as soon as she saw him. "We've successfully brought them all back to their places." He said, and sat again on the couch beside Elmira's bed, not dropping his eye contact towards her. "And I'm just here to bring this back." He said, handing her the hand mirror that she lent them. Elmira received it with her right hand and as soon as she got a hold of it, she looked there and watched something that she could only see. "Are you sure you had brought them all back, Pa?" She asked, without glancing at him. She was so busy looking in her mirror. "Yes. We have made sure that everyone can return to their places." He said as he was trying to look at what she was looking at, although he knew that he wouldn't see it without Elmira's permission. "There were still ten Hazzles who were hiding somewhere at the Palace Pa." She said, as she put the mirror to her bedside table on the other side. "Are you sure?" He asked as he couldn't believe that there were still Hazzles hiding somewhere as they had made sure that no one could be left. "Yes Pa. And they were still looking for me." She's now staring at him, not even bothered about the Hazzles inside the Palace who had tried to hide themselves so they can see her. "You don't need to open another Portal Pa. Just send them out of the gates, and let them go their own way. They might get killed on their way, but it's not your concern anymore." She was talking like she didn't even care for the lives that could be in danger any moment from now. "They have chosen their own path, so let them face the consequences of their actions Pa. Tell that to other Royalties. You can now go Pa. You still have dinner down there." She said, getting ready to lie down again on her bed. "Aren't you joining us?" "I can't Pa. And besides, that man hates me a lot." She grinned, thinking about Alexis who has always been irritated with her ever since. "Bye Pa." Sid opened the door again for him, but he was still hesitating to go, and didn't even move where he was seated. "Pa, I still can't stand, so I really can't come. Next time, I'll be there." She said, assuring him with her bright smile flashed on her face. Smith sighed as he surrendered towards her decision. "Okay, then." He left the room and Sid closed the door as soon as he had left. "Remember what I have told you Gemus. And do not even try to escape if you want me to enter Emerald again. I'll just rest. Understand?" All of them were nodding at what she have said through their minds as she lay on her bed and closed her eyes. The three Gemus just stayed in her room while she rested, looking out for any danger that may happen while Elmira's having her rest that she had been hoping to get, since the day had started. They became more alert than ever as Loisselle was still on the loose, and only Elmira knew where she was at the moment.
