To support her ailing mother, Alexa takes a job at the palace where the ruthless Alpha Damien resides. While restocking the library one night, she meets a handsome stranger who sets her heart aflutter. But during the annual Moon Ball, the alluring man is revealed to be none other than Damien himself.

As his destined mate, Alexa should be overjoyed. Instead, she is filled with loathing for the monster who murdered her father. Damien also scorns the idea of a lowly maid as his Luna. However, the clever pack priest discovers Alexa may be the key to breaking Damien's centuries-old curse.

Forced together by fate and supernatural laws, Alexa and Damien struggle to control their boiling hatred and undeniable attraction. As evil forces conspire to destroy the pack, Alexa and Damien have no choice but to unite. But is their strained bond strong enough to end Damien's torment for good?

Alexa will have to dig deep to find the strength to bring light to her mate's dark soul before his eternal curse plunges the pack into ruin. Will their rank difference and haunting pasts consume any chance at happiness? Or can love truly conquer all?

Alexa's Struggles
CRESENT PACK The rain started pouring, which meant that I would have to close the shop early today and I didn't want to because I hadn't made many sales, but this rain wasn't smiling so it was better to just go home. I couldn't stay there for long anyway, because everyone knew that once it was getting closer to dawn, that was the devil's hour and I couldn't afford to stay there for long. It was getting closer and closer to midnight. I thought that maybe if I waited a little I would make enough sales to get medicines, but the time and weather weren't on my side. I packed my goods and, since I couldn't find a taxi, I just trekked home. I didn't live alone, I lived with my little brother and mom. My dad apparently used to work as a guard in the palace but the ruthless alpha killed him just because of one mistake and that's why I'd never get to see my dad again. I tried so much because it was ten years ago and now I am twenty, but the pain never goes away and speaking of the alpha. I've never seen him before, but according to the books, he was ruthless and very wicked. He showed no one mercy and that was one of the reasons why he got cursed. Apparently, close to five thousand years ago, he killed a maid all because she spilled tea on him and that maid's mom happened to be a witch, but she had to hide her and her daughter's identity because werewolves and witches were enemies. She hid it because she just wanted to survive and had nothing against us werewolves. But once she found out about the death of her daughter, she waged a war against our alpha. He was stronger than her and defeated her, but she didn't die without cursing him, which is why he's still really alive despite it already being five thousand years old. I didn't really care much about it because I think he deserves it. He just killed her like she was a nobody and expected to go scot-free. It's good that he's cursed and I hate him with every ounce in me. I wished that witch had killed him a long time ago. He killed my father and I would surely get my revenge, but right now I can't worry about that because my mom was basically the provider. She worked as a maid in the palace. I didn't like the idea, but she just had to support her. I dropped out of high school but will make sure that my little brother completes his education. I didn't even know that I had reached home until the rain started falling, bringing me back to reality. I immediately ran into the house. We lived in a two-bedroom apartment. It was pretty small but it was neat all thanks to my cleaning skills and comfy. " Get in, sis, " my little brother yelled, and I immediately shut the door. I looked at myself from head to toe, realizing that I was completely drenched. My brother handed me a towel and I dried myself with it. " How was school today?" I asked my junior brother. He was fifteen years old and in junior high school, he had a similar resemblance to me with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He looked very tall and mature for his age, which is why girls followed him around a lot. " It wasn't bad though," he said, and I got out of my shoes and walked up the stairs. "When you knew the rain was about to start why didn't you come home?" He asked. I liked that he was always watching out for me, but I didn't like him worrying too much over me. " I…I didn't notice," I said and immediately regretted it because that was a lame excuse, but I'm also bad at lying. " I know you just wanted some extra money," he said. I looked at him with a grin on my face. He knows me so much. " If I didn't make extra money how would I pay for your extra expenses in school and mom's medicine," I said, making him roll his eyes at me. " Speaking of mom, where is she?," I asked and his expression changed, scaring me. I knew mom was sick, which is why I was working hard so that I could afford to get her drugs, since she only gets paid monthly. " She's been in her room all day after returning from work," he said, and I immediately ran to her room. I saw her lying on the bed. Her body had already turned full pale. I was extremely scared for her and I felt my heart sink. I didn't want anything to happen to her because the way she looked terrified me. " Mom," I said and went over to her, taking her hands in mine. It was so warm yet she was shivering. What was happening to her? " Alexa, is that you?," She asked. I nodded in response, trying to control my tears. " Danny, Danny!!!," I called for my little brother and in no time he ran into the room. " Get her medicine," I immediately told him and he ran to get it. I made a sandwich for her to eat and gave her the last of her medicine. She calmed down a little and after that took a nap. I didn't even know what to do. I'd never seen my mom in such a state before and just by looking at her I was extremely scared to the core. I thought she was going to die and damn I was sure that would kill me. " Mom won't go to that palace again," I said, clearly knowing that she wasn't fit. " I know you care about her and I do too, but if she doesn't go she'll lose her job," Danny reminded me. " She won't go because I will take her place until she gets fully recovered," I said.
