I walked into the library and grinned at the amount of books. Harry trailed in behind me. "I wonder if grandpa had books in here about the family." I muttered. I started going down the rows before finding what I was looking for. "Bingo. I am so glad I brought my note book with me." I grabbed three books and took them over to a table.
"How many of those are there?" He asked.
"Thirteen I believe." I answered. "I want to know about my family history and this is the best way. Bring the other books to me, will ya?" He shrugged and walked in the direction I was in. I opened my notebook to a clean page and opened the top book.
"You'll be in here for hours!" Harry exclaimed.
"You can help if you want. You got nothing better to do anyways." Harry scowled at me. "I'm taking notes. You can sit there and do nothing or you can help. Up to you."
"Might as help you." He grumbled. I rolled my eyes.
The next hour was spent flipping through books. Turns out my family is from northern Italy and around Germany. Moved to America in the early 1890s. They decided that Maine is the best place to live. In the 1930s this mansion was built by many times great grandmother. A very beautiful woman. My grandfather is the last one to live in this house.
"Hey, I think I may have found something." Harry exclaimed. I set the book I was reading aside as he set his in front of me. "There was a cult on this land. The land is two-hundred acres, meaning your family is richer than rich. They built their home on cursed land basically. For the most part, the cult and you family shared in peace up until 1915. Your great uncle got sick of hearing their chants late at night. He took his shot gun and killed five of them. Apparently a curse has been put on your family or something."
"I wonder if that will pose some problems for us." I muttered. "We have 200 hundred acres. That means that there can be a portal or portals any where here." Harry paled at the thought. "My thoughts exactly."
"Here is a list of maids and butlers that worked. Look whose name is at the top of the list." Harry pointed to the name.
"Harry, I believe we are entering something that may be rather risky." I said, fear creeping into my voice.
"Should we tell the others?" Harry asked.
"Jackson would most likely believe us, but the others might not. Let's see if we can find anything else on this. I wonder if there is anything else on the cult." I flipped through the book, scanning pages. I stopped on a page with a picture of a group of people in black and grey cloaks.
"That's creepy." Harry declared.
"I think we are in trouble. The group is a rather big. They may not have been heard from in years, but I have a feeling that they are around." I said. I loud bang echoed throughout the library. I looked at Harry. "Um, perhaps something fell over."
"Yeah." He agreed nervously. He looked down and paled once again. "The picture is moving." I looked down and sure enough, he was right. The people seemed to be marching. I slammed the book such as a hand began to reach out from the page. I threw the book across the room. The book fell open on the picture. I let out a shriek as three ghostly figures came out of the book.
Harry grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the library. We ran down the stairs. "I forgot my notebook!"
"Who cares? This place is cursed!" Harry shouted. We ran past Edwin, who decided to take to glaring at us for running. "We need to find everyone and tell them."
Turns out the others were still together. They fell silent after they saw us. Bella and Jackson cringed when I glared at them. Harry did the same thing, realizing that they set us up. "I think we should leave them in the dark." Harry growled. I agreed with him.
"Hey, did you two hear a loud bang earlier?" Emit asked.
"I think we should find the source of the bang." Harry said to me. "Tomorrow is Halloween, do you think anything might happen?"
"That's a stupid question." I said. He shrugged.
"Speaking of Halloween, did you guys see the décor? It's so awesome." Edward said. "Anyways, what had you guys running into here. It's like you saw a ghost." Harry and I shared a look. "Nice one, acting like you saw a ghost."
"They're going to die." Harry stated. I slapped him.
"We should go on a hike." Bella said. "You two in?"
"I'm staying here. The house is a lot safer than outside." Harry said. I gave him a look.
"I think they are both equally dangerous." I muttered. "I'm going to go hide in my room."
"Don't be party poopers. Come and hike with us." Jackson said. "What are we going to find? A cult?" Harry and I didn't answer. "That's not funny."
"Harry was helping me check out our family history. They lived in peace with a cult on this very land until one of our great uncles killed five. The land is cursed. Everyone here that we have met, are dead." I explained. Jackson rolled his eyes.
"Come on guys, let's just go on the hike. We'll leave these two to sulk." Jackson said. Harry looked at me in disbelief. I shrugged. The others walked out. Shortly after, we heard the front door close. The house descended into silence.
"Your room or mine?" Harry asked.
"Let's just go to mine. I have a feeling I need to change out of my dress." I declared. Harry nodded in agreement.
