Chapter 15-

Max POV

“Oh, I see you’ve met Jemma, my baby girl” Dean says, giving JJ a side hug.

Oh no… I f****d Dean’s daughter!!!!!

“No, I never met her before” I say defensively.

“Yeah, I just bumped into him … sorry about that” JJ says nervously.

“So who is he? I never saw him here before” JJ asks her father… DEAN IS HER FATHER!!!

“Do you remember Alexandria’s best friend Max?” Dean says excited.

“Yes, the one who was killed in battle saving another man” JJ answers.

“That’s him… he came back from the dead” Dean announces.

“WHAT?!” JJ says, horrified.

“Yeah it’s a long story… Dean, Derek is back and was looking for you” I lie to get rid of him.

“really? They are back so soon, they must have known about the attack… okay, I’ll go find him then we can start our date” Dean says jokingly, then goes to find his brother.

“I can’t believe I slept with a corps” JJ mumbles to herself.

“Excuse me? What? I’m not a corpse” i say offended.

“Oh my goddess. You are auntie Alexandria’s best friend. You are 20 years older than me… you are uncle Max” JJ says trying to comprehend the news.

“I’m in my twenties I’m no ones uncle”, what the hell!

“You’ve been dead for 20 f*****g years…You are a dead man” JJ states.

“Will nothing about me was dead that night, Miss. I don’t have a mate” I lash at her.

“Maybe if you didn’t interrupt me rejecting him, I wouldn’t have one, Mr. it’s all about me me me … and why the hell are you even back from the dead?” she says furiously.

“I wish everyone would stop asking me that damn question because I don’t know” I answer frustrated.

“This is bad… real bad… my family will disown me if they found out that I’ve slept with you and my dad will most definitely kill you”, I can’t disagree with that one.

And not Just Dean, Derek and maybe Dylan too will join.

“No one should know about that night” JJ and I say at the same time.

Good, we finally agree on something.

“Jemma, you are back from college” Alexandria joins us giving JJ a hug.

“How is Justin?” Alexandria asks.

“Great!” She lies.

“Dean said that we are all having lunch together. Jemma, will you join us?” Alexandria asks.

“You know Alexandria, I haven’t slept since yesterday. So maybe a raincheck?” I say.

“Like hell you will, we have 20 years to catch up on” Alexandria puts her foot down.

“I don’t know auntie Ria, I’m tired too from traveling and all” JJ says.

“Yeah, no. we are all having lunch together, go find your cousins and tell them” Alexandria practically gives us an order and we have no choice but to oblige.

This is going to be a very awkward meal.

Caleb POV

What AJ suggested is not ideal. But it’s the only choice we have for now.

I go back to my room and find Sarah scowling as usual staring out of the window.

“Don’t even think about getting out through the window. You will not be able to open it and if you did, you'll fall to your death” I warn her,

“Won’t that be a happy ending for all of us” she says, still looking out of the window.

“So eager to die… do you miss your dead rogue boyfriend that much”. Every time I remember when she said he was her lover, my blood boils.

“A filthy rogue is a better option than an asshole prince like you” she says, finally looking at me with disgust.

“Oh, that one really hurt my ego. Especially coming from someone like you, a runaway criminal” I mock.

“I more than paid for my crimes… what about you?” she says, clenching her fists in anger.

“What the hell are you talking about? You call f*****g around with the scum of the earth paying for your crimes? And what crime did I do to pay for it in the first place?” I ask confused.

“You know what you did, Caleb” She shouts and grabs the glass of water next to her and throws it at me.

It misses me by inches but how the f**k dare she!!

First she runs away from me after I’ve saved her, letting me think the worst while I’m scoring the earth searching for her and all the while she was whoring around with rogues!

I thought she f*****g died, I felt my soul leave my body and it was just her f*****g another man!

“Whatever I’ve done, sure as hell was deserved and having you as a mate is punishment enough as I see it” I shout back pissed, wishing every word would hurt her as much as she made me suffer.

“You are a monster… even worse than the devil” she says in tears with disbelief in her eyes.

worse than the devil? A bit of an over reaction from her, but f**k it!

“Enjoy this luxurious room that you are so disgusted with because tomorrow I’m taking you to a place more fitting of a criminal like yourself”.

“I hate you!” She shouts.

I don’t know why, but that hurt me more than anything she ever said.

“Who told you I give a f**k?” I say, then I storm out.

She clearly doesn’t want to be here or to even live… so why the hell do I still care?

Maxima POV

I’ve been sitting in my room all day after my fight with Gabriel.

It’s breaking my heart to see him hurt and scared for me like that.

But hopefully I’ll have all this fixed and under control soon, I just don’t know how yet.

“You need to control yourself, Aleka” I tell my wolf.

“I can’t help it, you know what’s happening”

“and you see what it is doing to our mates”

“It’s out of our hands”

“not yet, Aleka. There is still a chance”

“Maxima, your mom and dad are back and have been asking about you all day. You have to go see them … and the pack needs to see you after the attack” Gabriel says after he enters our room.

He’s been giving me space like I requested, although I know he didn’t even leave the house.

“yes. I will be right there” I say getting up from my chair.

I see him watching me, my every move, my every detail, like he’s trying to memorize it before I slip away from him.

I can feel his anxiousness and worry, and it kills me that it’s because of me.

“Gabriel” I say softly, walking to him.

“You know I love you more than anything, right?” I say putting my hands on his cheeks.

“I have no doubt, blue eyes” he says with a small smile. Putting his hands on mine.

I lean in and give my love a kiss.

“It will all be alright… let’s go” I say and we leave to meet my parents, but most importantly, to welcome uncle Max after the way I’ve greeted him or should I say how Aleka did.

After I assured my mother that I’m fine and being briefed about the attack from my beta and gamma, everyone went back to their rooms as we are well into the night right now.

“We need to talk to Max again. Get every detail about the sorcerers that had him and how they brought him back” Gabriel says.

“Don’t you just want to hang out with him and know your father” I tell Gabriel, having the feeling he is trying to avoid exactly that.

“I do, but we have more pressing matters” he gives an excuse.

“Okay, let me talk to him about all that by myself first and apologize about how Aleka reacted when she saw him, then maybe both of you can have a talk that is not about the attack and the pack” I tell my mate.

“No, I will just hang out with him some other time, we need to-”, I cut him off.

“Gabriel. Believe me, you need this. I won’t be long” I say and leave my disgruntled mate in the office.

I need to talk to Max alone anyways.

I knock on Max’s room, part of me hoping he wouldn’t answer the door.

“Maxima?”/

Shit, he answered the door.

He looks surprised yet disappointed that Gabriel is not with me.

“Can I come in?” I ask politely.

“Of course, your majesty” he says with a proud smile and I smile back.

I have never been inside this room, no one did... alot of major events happened in this room.

"So you wanted something? is everything alright?" Uncle Max says.

“I wanted to apologize about-” i start to say.

“How you almost ate my face? No worries. Unfortunately, it’s a normal reaction that I often get” he jokes.

He is exactly like mom described him.

I can even see some of Gabriel’s features in him.

“I’m really sorry, my wolf just gets railed up”.

“I know and I understand. No need for apologies between us, you are Alexandria’s girl and my son’s mate. We are family” he says giving me a hug.

This is getting harder and harder.

“There is something else I wanted to talk to you about” I say, dreading the subject.

“If it was ‘ why I was brought back from the dead’ don’t bother because I have no idea why”.

“But I do” I finally say.
