The light was dim inside, but the flames gave just enough for Dusty to make out the trap he had fallen into. The mysterious cat was no more. From floor to ceiling the room was covered in intricately carved panels. Each had hieroglyphs inscribed in them. In the center of the room, a small pedestal stood by itself. Multiple squares lined up beneath it, and all of them were raised. “Wow,” Dusty whispered. This did not look good. Maybe if Alex had been here he’d be of some use, or Woofie could try to approach without depressing any of the panels but Dusty was going to be stuck.
