The Meeting

Genevieve 's POV… When I heard the door open I was standing facing the large window behind my desk. Feeling more nervous than usual. I heard Sonya announce the Alpha and turned around. I “Alpha Dean Aldren, Grand Master.” Sonya announced. I saw him walk towards my desk. I must say oh my God! He was gorgeous, He was tall my guess would be around 6’3 , large frame, all muscle, with short brown hair and dark green eyes, stubby beard and a set of pouty lips that almost mad him look angelic. He took off the leather jacket he had on and rolled up his sleeves to his elbows and revealed tattoos that ran up and down his arms. I walked towards him and he met me halfway. When I felt his hand I felt a strange feeling but it wasn't unpleasant. “ Genevive Valencia, it's a pleasure, please sit down.” I said. I walked to Sonya that had followed Dean in. ”Should I bring tea?” She whispered. I smiled, “I don’t think he’ll drink anything we give him but go ahead and bring it I could use some.” Sonya bowed a little and left. I saw Dean smirk a little. Of course I knew he didn’t trust us. I closed the door and walked to my desk and sat down. We looked at each other for a moment before he decided to speak. “I’m not going to deny your call surprised me. I didn't think witches did anything for anyone but themselves.” I arched my brow. “ We don’t.” I answered, trying to sound just as cocky. ‘When my sister told me you'd come I didn’t believe it." "Why not?" " Well you sounded resolved that I had nothing you wanted." "You don’t. You’re not the first to claim to have information trying to gain some kind of alliance. And as you may have guessed a witch is the last kind I'd trust ." I didn’t allow his comments to affect me. He was an ass but I’m no saint either. "I'm aware but don't worry the feeling is mutual. I think I'd trust Alpha Carver before fully trusting you." I giggled. I saw his eyes darken and his demeanor change. He did not like my comment, good. A knock on the door interrupted us. “Come in.” I answered. Sonya walked in with a tray of iced tea nicely presented. She set it on the desk, bowed and walked out. I looked at him and rolled my eyes. He was probably expecting me to offer him some or serve him, but NO WAY WAS THAT HAPPENING. “I’m having a glass you can serve yourself if you would like.” He just nodded. After serving myself I sat back down at my desk. “So if we both agree trusting each other would be the last thing we’d do, why are you here?” He stretched his arms over his head showing off his arms. They were amazing but this Ass wasn’t getting any response from me. I just stared at him with zero expression on my face. “Curiosity.” “Curiosity?’’ “Yes. I have never received a call from you , we have never met , we know nothing of one another. In fact I have never even received the customary congratulations letter after I’d won any of my battles.’’ “Why would I congratulate you for destroying lives?” I was dead serious about this. He looked at me with an unacceptance to what I had just said. But then changed his expression. “I guess you can see why calling me to tell me you have information for me made me incredibly curious.” I just nodded, “ I guess I do.” “So are you gonna tell me what you think I should know?” He asked. I took a sip of my tea and sighed in surrender. “I know of some people plotting against you, and I thought you should know.” "Hmm and what's in it for you? There has to be a catch, you wouldn’t just tell me this for my health.” He told me. I hadn’t thought about what I would tell him if he asked me this. "Right now? Nothing. I'm not interested in an alliance, or anything like that. I think we've established that we don't trust each other. So I'll tell you what I know and if you confirm it to be true you'll owe me a favor that I can cash in at any moment. Deal?" “What kind of favor is it going to be?” “Don’t worry I’m going to ask for your first born or anything. It’s just a ‘I scratch your back you scratch mine’ type favor.” He stared at me trying to decide as quickly as he could. He rubbed his face and huffed out. "Fine. Deal. What information do you have?" “The former Alpha of Silvercloud pack has assembled a resistance. I'm guessing he doesn't like you. I can’t imagine why.” I half whispered , he heard me and tilted his head to the side and rolled his eyes. Wow that was beyond sexy. But I noticed him tense up. “ He will do everything he can to dethrone you. Do you know the pack?” I asked. Of course he did as soon as he heard the name come out of my mouth he stiffened and his face turned sour. He definitely hasn't gotten over it. Dean sighed and nodded, “But it doesn't make sense they’re not big enough to even try to go against me. ” " Sometimes size doesn't matter, Alpha. If someone has determination they might be capable of anything. Well that's it , that's all I have to say." I got up and smoothed out my pants. He followed my lead, " As soon as I confirm this, I'll call you." I nodded and went to open the door. We found Row and Samuel there speaking. Dean walked out and signaled his entourage to follow him. Samuel smiled at me and followed his Alpha. I walked back into my office and watched Dean drive away. "May we speak now?" I heard Sonya ask behind me. "Gather the council." I wasn't sure what I was thinking but Samuel was right there is something very odd about Dean.
