A Brothers Prayer

Genevive's POV..... The next day Row called Samuel and he agreed to meet with us. I had to tell him everything we had learned and to tell him he was right, Dean was broken. He arrived at the Manor late that afternoon. After explaining everything he just sat there in shock. Of course I left out the part about Circe and everything she said. "What do we do?" he finally asked. " Is there any way we can tell him what we're doing?" I wondered. "No! He'll hate the fact I'm talking about him with you. He'll kill me." I saw he meant every word. He was afraid of what his brother was capable of. "We conjured up a potion , it'll make him suggestive to things his heart refuses to acknowledge. Do you think you can make him drink it?" " Suggestive how? Will it hurt him?" "No. Suggestive as in he'll be open to things his hurt soul doesn't let him. It won't hurt him and it won't change his true essence. " " What's the purpose of it? I'm sorry for asking so much but I need to know that this is gonna help and not make things worse." I get why he was asking so much. He loved his brother and he didn't exactly trust us so he wouldn't just let us do whatever we want with him. "Longing for his mate his whole life attached his soul to her without even knowing her. Without him even knowing it was happening. When she rejected him everything he knew as reality broke he was so hurt his subconscious couldn't even conceive the idea of healing so he blocked out the process. We have to make him go through the process." " And this potion will do that?" "It'll make him flinch next time he threatens you or does anything he should hesitate to do. That'll make his soul face his pain and recuperate." I could see I was convincing him. "But there is a warning ." I confessed. " I knew it…what ?” " If for any reason we fail, what's left of his soul will die. You think he's bad now? Try when his beast has totally taken over. A soul tames your inner beast ,without it he's running wild. So it 's your call." He was debating in his head , I could see the pain and the worry all this has caused him. "We have to do it. He's getting worse anyway, we have to take this chance." " Ok then." I got up and handed him the Vile that Talia had given me. "Make sure he drinks all of it." I told him sitting on the edge of my desk. He took the Vile and exhaled. "So now that we know the problem and the solution, what's the price?" "I already told your brother he owes me a favor so consider it paid. Ok?" He looked confused, " Really? Why?" "Like I said I don't need your money and like I told him I don't need allies. A favor will do." I could have told him what Circe said and told him I needed to heal Dean for the sake of my sister's and every future witch . But why let him know I'm just as invested in this as he was. My answer seemed to convince him for the moment. He nodded and got up. "Well thank you. One more thing , how will I know it's starting to affect him?" " Trust me you'll know." Samuel's POV…… After leaving Hecate I was beyond nervous. I had hopped to run into Row but I didn't see her anywhere. On the drive back I calmed myself down. If I was nervous around Dean he would smell it and everything would go down the drain. As I drove up the pack house everything seemed normal. I guess no one had noticed my absence. I was wrong. The minute I walked into the house I heard Dean shouting my name. Foolishly I wasn't scared of my brother but I had learned to be cautious around him. "You know there's gotta be another way for you to get my attention than rockin the house with your shouting." I said while walking into his office. I saw his face , he did not look amused. " Are you going to tell me what the f**k you were doing at Hectae again?" He hissed . " You know your spies are very inefficient if they can tell where I was but not what I was doing." "THIS ISN'T A JOKE SAMUEL!" He roared, snapping at me. "NO IT ISN'T!" If both of us were yelling at each other this was going to end very badly. And by that I mean my neck underneath his boot. I took a deep breath and tried to speak with him. "Look Dean, I told you I was seeing Row." "No, you said you had one night with her! Now you're over there all the time!" "Ok, let me clarify." I was trying so hard to control my pulse. "I'm seeing Row. I like her a lot and we've spent time together." Dean just stared at me like he knew that every word out of my mouth was a damn lie. Well it was half true, I did like her and I wish we could spend time together. "And for the hundredth time … I will never betray you. Why can you wrap your head around that?" He loosened his grip on the desk and I saw his beast retreat. " Like I said you wouldn't be the first." He walked up to me, " Grab yourself a drink and give me a refill." He handed me his glass. I walked to the bar and remembered the Vile. I had zero doubts about something being wrong with my brother and Genevive confirmed it. I poured it into his glass then quickly filled it up with whiskey. I served mine and walked over to Dean and handed him his glass. "By the way I confirmed the information Genevive gave me. We have to attack before they do." I just nodded and watched him down all of his drink, not noticing anything different about the taste. I took small sips of mine praying to the Goddess to help him. 'Please my sweet Goddess save my brother.' I finished my drink and excused myself, being around Dean took everything out of me. I walked to my room and was surprised to find Lucia there. “Luce , what are you doing here?” “I was worried. I heard Dean’s screams and knew they were for you. Are you ok?” She walked up to me and tried caressing my cheek. I stepped back to stop her and she was surprised by my action. “So it 's true?” “What 's true?” “You’ve found your mate.” she said with a melancholy look. I looked at her confused, “What?” “It’s the pack gossip, apparently you found your mate at a party at Hecate. That's why you keep going back , and that's why Dean went yesterday.” I scoffed, “No. I haven’t found my mate.” I saw her face lighten up and she began smiling again. “Really?” “Trust me Luce if I had found my mate you’d be the first one I’d tell.” She relaxed after I told her that , I could tell she still held onto the hope of us. I really wished she didn’t.
