Genevive 's POV......
When we got to my office the other council sisters were already there.
“What's the mystery?” Camila asked.
I stood behind my desk and informed them of everything I had talked to Beta Samuel about. When I was done they stayed silent.
"What do you all think?" I asked them , they hadn't said anything.
"If I may ask, why did you agree to help him?" James asked.
"Honestly?...I have no clue. I don't even know if there's anything to help." I admitted.
"So why?" Ash
"I just…felt like I needed to." How was I going to explain it to them? I couldn't even understand it myself.
"How can we help?" Camila asked.
They never question me , they always trust my judgement and for that I'm grateful and will love them always.
"Well first things first." I grabbed the phone and began to dial the number Samuel had given me.
I put the call on speaker and it began to ring. I told them all to be quiet.
The line rang and rang and rang. Until a male voice answered.
“Hello?”
“Hello, This is Grand Master Genevieve Valencia of Hecate Coven.”
The guy cleared his throat, sounding nervous.
“Ahem yes Grand Master, How can I help you?”
“I need to speak to The Alpha King, Immediately I’m afraid it’s life or death.”
“Of course one moment.” The man said.
“Do you think he’ll take the call?” Talia wondered.
I signaled her to be quiet.
We waited for a moment when we heard the line being picked up.
“This is Dean Aldren.” HIs voice was deep and sent shivers down my spine. It took me a moment to respond.
“Yes hello Alpha, This is …”
“Master Genevieve, I was informed.” My name in his voice was beyond delicious to my ears.
“You informed my assistant it was life or death.” He continued.
I took a deep breath and composed myself.
“I have some information you might consider important.”
“Really? Like what?”
“I don't think telling you over the phone is appropriate. You need to come here.” I answered.
“ Huh really? How do I know your information is worth my time?” He was arrogant but two could play at that game.
“You know what you're right. It’s not like you’re not familiar with enemies plotting against you. I just thought you might want the upper hand , but I don't really care if you don't . Goodbye.” And without letting him answer I hung up. They all looked at me wondering what the hell.
“Don’t worry. He won't be able to let this go.”
It didn't take more than 5 minutes when the phone rang again.
I signaled to Camila to get closer. “Answer .” I told her Answering the phone and put it on speaker.
“Hello?” Camila said
“This is Alpha Dean Aldren, I need to speak to your Grand MAster.”
Camila looked at Gen waiting for me to tell her what to say.
‘Tell him I left.’I wrote on a piece of paper.
“Oh I’m sorry Alpha Aldren, My Master just left.”
We heard him huff out into the phone.
“When will she be back?” He asked
I signaled that I wouldn't come back.
“Well she won't be back until tomorrow morning. If you’d like you can call then….”
“Just let her know I’ll be there around 3pm , Do you think she’ll be there by then?” He asked.
I nodded letting her know to say yes.
“Yes Alpha I’m sure she will.”
“It’s settled then , I’ll be there at 3.” He hung up without saying another word.
“WOW! That worked.” Sonia said.
"Of course it did , he couldn't just shrug that off. I've never called him before so if whatever I have to tell him is important enough for me to call you can bet he's at least curious. Tomorrow when he gets here I need you all to remain quiet about this. He has Lycan hearing and we don't know what he'll be able to hear."
They all nodded and agreed. Tomorrow we will meet the Alpha King.
I walked to my room and laid down on my bed. I couldn't get his voice out of my head. I've never heard my name like that. Just the sound of it made my pulse race.
I fell asleep replaying it in my head.
***Lycaon Pack***
Samuel 's POV….
I was out training the Beta squad when I heard a roar that shook the whole pack house.
“SAMUEL!!!”
Everybody ran into Dean’s office alarmed wondering what had happened.
“WHERE’S SAMUEL?” I heard him huff from the hallway.
“I’m right here.” I answered walking in.”Goddess what’s wrong?”
Dean was hunched over his desk with one hand on each side of it. He looked seconds away from snapping it in half.
“EVERYBODY OUT!” he roared. Everyone scrambled out of the room and left us alone.
I looked at him totally confused about what was happening.
I could tell he was beyond angry. He let go of his desk and began pacing back and forth.
“You gonna tell me what's going on?” I asked cautiously. After the other night I’m extremely cautious around him now.
He turned his gaze to me, I swear he could kill someone right now.
“Oh yeah I’m gonna tell you what's happening.” he answered in a low mellow voice that seemed to make me even more nervous than when he was screaming. He slowly walked closer to me.
“Last night you had a ‘meeting’ with a witch.” He told me.
“I told you what that was…” I interrupted.
“YES! You did. “ He said, trying to remain calm.
“But just now the Grand Master herself called me offering information.”
I walked back into a wall and he was now inches from my face and slammed my fist on the sides of my head.
“You’re gonna tell me that’s a coincidence?”
I was trying to control my pulse and breathing. I was about to lie to him and if he knew …well lets just say it wont cost me just a broken cheek bone.
“I don’t know anything about that, D. Honest. Besides last night I wasn't with the Grand Master, I was with someone else.”
“Yeah, What was her name again?” he asked, trying not to lose his s**t.
“Row.” I answered.
“What is she like exactly?”
“What?’’
“Describe her for me!” I shouted.
“She’s tall, red hair, blue eyes. She smells like vanilla and cinnamon.” I replied quickly. I ‘ve had her on my mind since last night so describing her was easy.
He stepped back but didn't seem any calmer.
“If you ever….” He started to threaten me again when I interrupted.
“HOW COULD YOU THINK I WOULD BETRAY YOU?!”
“WHY NOT? YOU WOULDN’T BE THE FIRST!” He shouted back.
I took several deep breaths. “Dean, not me. The whole world could turn their back at you, but I wouldn’t. I won’t. You’re my brother. I would never hurt you.”
I wish he could believe me. I wish I could tell him I loved him. But I couldn't, those feelings are something he forgot existed a long time ago.
His expression was confusing to me , it's like he was trying to believe me but couldn't.
“Remember what I said Samuel. Don’t ever forget it.” He said coldly and walked out.
