Chapter 2 THIRD PERSON'S POV. Alpha Edward burst through the doors of the meeting room and every single soldier stood at attention until he was settled and ready to speak. With Alpha Edward was all the high ranking soldiers of Zecrim pack, ready to go to war at the command of their Alpha. Immediately the news was brought to him, his eyes became bloodshot and only one thing was on his mind - Revenge. "This is going to be the plan", he rolled out a map wide enough to cover the mahogany table. "We are going to march towards Sylvia Kingdom with 700,000 of our men-" "But, my Alpha, we need some soldiers to stay back and protect the pack in case another attack happens-" "I don't care!! We are going to war with every one of our soldiers, and we shall attack them before they attack us!! We will begin marching tonight, and by the wee hours of the morning, we must've reached the North border. Here, we will divide ourselves into three battalions - the first battalion will begin invading from the west, and the second battalion will begin invading from the east. I will lead the third battalion straight into the city, and we will keep attacking until we get to the palace. Are we clear?!!" "Yes, sir!!!", They echoed throughout the whole room. "It is good to be a fierce fight, but it is high time we showed Sylvia Kingdom that we cannot be oppressed. They have killed our soldier and our brother, and so we will kill their men, take their wives and their animals!! Are we clear?!!" "Yes, sir!!!" "Now-" A knock on the door interrupted the Alpha, and a young guard slowly walked into the room and saluted the soldiers. "My Alpha, your presence is needed in the throne room. You have... Visitors." "Can't you see we're in a meeting?!", Alpha Edward questioned him, about to transfer aggression on the young lad. "It's the spiritual seer, Perseus. He's come to see you before you go to war", he informed. Alpha Edward knew that he had to honor the meeting of the spiritual seer, no matter what. He turned to the soldiers and told them to prepare before heading out of the meeting room. With heavy, precise strides, he walked to the throne room to see the spiritual seer. But to his utter surprise, Perseus was not the only person who had come to see him. Beside him was Alpha Malcolm. The Alpha of the so-called Sylvia Kingdom. No, Edward's eyes needed to be playing with him. Surely, his archenemy - the same person he was just planning to war against, was not comfortably seated in his palace. "Perseus, what is the meaning of this?", He muttered, not understanding what was going on. "Alpha Edward-" "Did you bring this spineless bastard to me knowing fully well how much I want to kill him?!!" "You better mind your words, Edward. I'm not excited to be in the godforsaken Kingdom either", Alpha Malcolm spoke with contempt. "You are in my kingdom, so you will be the one to mind your words! Now, get out of my palace and go prepare for the bloodiest war your Kingdom will ever witness, or your people won't have an Alpha that will return to them-" "Alpha Edward", Perseus called calmly, "you seem to forget that it is an abomination for you to commit murder in my presence, right?" As livid as Edward was, Perseus was right. "I suggest you calm down and at least hear what I have to say." Reluctantly, Edward walked to his throne and settled down. "Good", Perseus sighed. "Now, I brought you here concerning the animosity between you both. This is hate that has been passed from your ancestors, and to your fathers, and now to you both. Are you both not tired of losing lives and shedding blood of your innocent soldiers in the process? How many more lives does this war have to claim before you prove to each other that you are greater?" The silence that sat in the room with them made it known to Perseus that they knew he was right. Edward had gotten all his soldiers to go to war, despite all the warnings that they were not ready to attack. Sylvia, on the other hand, had just won a battle but was not ready to take another hit. "Now, instead of fighting, I think it's better that you both come together and merge packs into one great Kingdom. And I just have a brilliant way to go about that." "And what genius idea might that be?" Perseus smiled mischievously. "Malcolm's first son and heir to the throne will marry Edward's daughter and build a family. That way, you both can become in-laws and strengthen the bond between both of you." An awkward silence followed and, suddenly, Edward threw his back in laughter. "You have to be kidding me! This has to be a joke, right?!", He laughed so hard he couldn't breathe. "Perseus, if I knew this was the reason you called me here, I would not have bothered coming. I really had respect for you until this stupid stunt", Alpha Malcolm muttered in disappointment. "I would rather die!!", Alpha Edward sprang up to his feet in sudden rage, "I would rather die, than allow my daughter to get married into this heartless family!! Over my dead body will that happen!!", He swore in fury. "I think I made a mistake", Perseus muttered with a sigh and slowly got up to his feet. "I made it seem like you both had a choice. Now, let me rephrase - the Moon Goddess has sent me to relay her message to both of you. She has decided that your son must marry his daughter, if you both still want to be kings. It's either you both decide to face the wrath of the Moon Goddess for disobeying her and lose everything you've worked for, or you join your children in marriage and merge your packs to become the strongest kingdoms in the wolf realm. Your choice."
