Episode 1 – A Day in Mr. Park's Life.
Park Group Headquarters The top floor never slept. Phones rang without pause. Employees hurried through the hallways, clutching files as if the fate of the company depended on them. Maybe it did. Inside the CEO's office... "Move the Singapore meeting to eleven." "Tell the legal team I want the revised contract on my desk before lunch." "The board meeting starts in twenty minutes." Mr. Park Jijae never looked up. His eyes remained fixed on the stack of documents spread across his desk while his fingers signed one file after another with effortless precision. At twenty-nine years old... He had already built a reputation as one of the youngest and most successful CEOs in the country. Respected. Feared. Untouchable. At least... that's what everyone believed. No one noticed the untouched cup of coffee growing cold beside him. No one noticed the faint shadows beneath his eyes. No one noticed how exhausted he truly was. A knock echoed through the office. "Come in." The employee carefully stepped inside. "Sir, your ten o'clock meeting is ready." "And your lunch?" "I'll eat later." "...You said that yesterday too." Jijae didn't answer. He just shot a glare. And simply picked up another file. The secretary sighed inwardly before leaving the office. Outside... The entire floor released a breath. "Our CEO hasn't smiled in days." "He probably forgot what sleep feels like." "I heard he worked until three in the morning yesterday." "I wouldn't survive a week doing that." Just then... Ding. The elevator doors slid open. A young woman stepped out, carrying an iced coffee in one hand and a folder tucked under her arm. She glanced around at the anxious employees before smiling. "Why does everyone look like they're attending a funeral?" The office instantly came alive. "Miss Lee!" "You finally came!" "Our CEO has been impossible today!" She blinked. "...Again?" With a small sigh, she adjusted her maroon blazer, took one last sip of her coffee, and walked toward the CEO's office. Meanwhile... Inside the office... Mr. Park Jijae rubbed his temples. Another knock. "...Come in." The office door slowly opened. "Good morning, sir." He didn't even have to look up. "...You're late, Miss Lee." A grin appeared on her face. "No, sir." "I arrived exactly on time." She casually lifted her wrist, pointing at the elegant watch she wore. "Nine fifty-nine and fifty-eight seconds." A beat. "...Which means I still have two seconds left." The office fell silent. Mr. Park Jijae slowly looked up from the file in front of him. For a moment... Nothing. Then— "Congratulations." "You've successfully wasted two seconds of my life." Yn gasped dramatically. "I've improved! Yesterday it was five." Without waiting for permission, she walked over to his desk and placed the iced coffee beside his untouched hot one. "I brought your usual." "I didn't ask for it." "I know." "Take it back." "No." "I said take it back." "And I said no." Jijae pinched the bridge of his nose. The woman standing before him had worked as his personal assistant for Four years. Four years. Three thousand meetings. Countless business trips. Lakhs of arguments. And... She remained the only employee who wasn't terrified of him. "You realize I'm your boss." "I do." "And?" "You'll still drink the coffee." "I won't." She folded her arms confidently. "You will." He looked at the iced Americano. Then at her. Then back at the coffee. "...Miss Lee." "Yes, sir?" "Get out." She smiled brightly. "See you in five minutes." And just like that... She left. The moment the door closed, Jijae stared at the coffee again. Silence filled the office. A full thirty seconds passed. Finally... He reached for the cup. One sip. "..." It was exactly the way he liked it. Outside the office... Several employees secretly peeked through the glass. "I knew it!" "He drank it!" "Our CEO actually drank the coffee!" One employee blinked. "How does Miss Lee do that?" Another whispered dramatically, "I think she's the only person in this building with nine lives." Before anyone could answer... The office door suddenly opened. Every employee instantly scattered back to their desks. Jijae stepped out, expression unreadable. "The quarterly reports." "In the meeting room." "Now." "Y-Yes, sir!" Within seconds, everyone disappeared. Only Yn remained. She walked beside him as they headed toward the conference room. "You slept three hours again." "I slept enough." "That's not enough." "It is." "It isn't." "I'm fine." She stopped walking. "So if I tell the finance department to work only three hours every night, you'll approve it?" He glanced sideways. "...No." "Why?" "Because they'd collapse." She smiled innocently. "So would you." For the first time... He had no comeback. The elevator doors opened. They stepped inside. Only the two of them. Silence. Yn pressed the button for the executive floor. "You've got six meetings today." "I know." "Three interviews." "I know." "A dinner with the board." "I know." She looked at him. "...And lunch?" "I'll skip it." She sighed dramatically. "I knew you'd say that." From her bag, she pulled out a neatly wrapped sandwich. Jijae stared at it. "...What is that?" "Your lunch." "I didn't ask for lunch." "You also didn't ask to be overworked, yet here we are." She placed it in his hands. "Eat it before two." "I'm not hungry." Miss lee "You will be." The elevator doors opened. He looked down at the sandwich. "...Miss Lee." She turned around. "Yes?" "...Thank you." Her eyes widened slightly. Then she smiled. "You almost sounded nice." His expression immediately returned to normal. "Don't get used to it." The meeting room doors swung open. Directors, investors, and executives were already waiting. The moment Mr. Park entered... Everyone stood. "Good morning, CEO Park." He nodded once before taking his seat at the head of the table. Yn quietly settled into the chair beside him, tablet ready. The presentation began. For the next two hours... Numbers. Charts. Budgets. Forecasts. Not once did Jijae lose focus. Every question received an immediate answer. Every proposal was analyzed within seconds. Watching him work was almost intimidating. No wonder the company trusted him. Near the end of the meeting, one executive cleared his throat. "CEO Park..." "The Kim family has requested another dinner regarding the marriage discussion." The room fell silent. Yn noticed the subtle change. Jijae's jaw tightened. "I already declined." "They insist." "My answer hasn't changed." "But your mother—" "I said..." His voice turned dangerously calm. "...my answer hasn't changed." No one dared continue. The meeting ended shortly after. As everyone filed out, Yn quietly gathered the documents. She noticed he hadn't touched the sandwich. Of course. She walked over, picked it up, and placed it directly into his hands. He looked at her. "I forgot." "I know." "You don't have to remind me every day." "I do." "Why?" She shrugged. "Because if my CEO faints during a meeting, everyone will blame the assistant." He stared at her for a second. Then... Without another word... He unwrapped the sandwich and took a bite. Yn smiled to herself before turning back to her tablet. Maybe... Just maybe... Getting Mr. Park Jijae to take care of himself would become her biggest project yet. ........................ To be Continued........🏵️
