Chapter 1
My coworker went from flat-chested to a full C cup in just one week.
I urged her to go to the hospital for a scan. The results showed two tumors growing inside her, and they were still getting bigger by the day.
I said, "Lucia, you really should get surgery to remove them. If you wait any longer, those tumors could spread and it could cost you your life."
After my other coworkers and I convinced her, she went through with the surgery.
But later, she found out that the guy she had a crush on only liked girls with big breasts.
She shouted, "Felicity! This is all your fault! If it weren't for you, he would have been with me by now!"
She started a fight with me right there in the office. I accidentally lost my footing, fell, and cracked my skull open on my desk. I died on the spot.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the exact moment my coworker went from an A to a C.
She looked at me and asked, "Felicity, look. Don't you think my figure looks better now?"
I smiled and replied, "Mm. It can get even better."
The other coworkers noticed it too.
One of them asked, "Lucia Blythe, did you go get a boob job behind our backs? These are totally two different sizes from what you had before."
Lucia puffed out her chest and answered, brimming with pride.
She said, "No way. Have I taken a single day off lately?"
That made all the other coworkers even more envious.
Another chimed in, "Then what have you been eating lately? Pumpkin seeds or cheese?"
Lucia flipped her hair over her shoulder, absolutely oozing confidence.
She replied, "Nothing special. I guess even heaven noticed how pretty I am and decided to bless me with a late gift of a great body."
I slipped right into the conversation without a second thought. "I know a bra that fits big busts really well," I said. "You should totally check it out."
In this life, I kept my mouth shut. I just joined in on their chat about breast growth.
I never brought up suggesting that Lucia go get a checkup at the hospital like I did before.
Just one week later, Lucia's chest had already grown another full size.
She complained, "Ugh, this is so annoying. I just bought new bras last week and they don't fit anymore. I have to go buy another pair."
Her over‑the‑top humblebrag drew playful collective outrage from Faye Lane and Nina Cole.
The two of them teamed up and launched a full‑on tickle attack on her.
That was when Faye twitched her nose, sniffing the air.
She said, "Wait, what is that smell? Why does it stink in here?"
She clamped a hand over her nose right away.
Seconds later, Nina also scrunched up her face and covered her nose.
Nina asked, "Is the city fixing the sewer line outside or something?"
Lucia took a deep sniff and then asked, "Did one of you secretly fart?"
Everyone shook their heads. We were all still puzzling over where the stench was coming from when Lucia's face dropped suddenly. She forced an apologetic smile and said, "I will be right back. I need to run to the bathroom."
The words were barely out of her mouth before she grabbed her purse and hurried out the door.
And just like that, the foul odor faded away along with her.
The three of us wore awkward, strange expressions, and Nina was the first to speak up.
She said, "Probably Lucia ate something bad and got an upset stomach."
Faye chimed in right after.
Faye added, "That made sense... but man, that stench was way too much..."
Five minutes later, Lucia walked back in. Trailing right behind her was a thick, cloying cloud of overpowering perfume.
Faye had always had a super sensitive nose. The second Lucia stepped through the door, she clapped a hand over her nose immediately.
She exclaimed, "Lucia, why did you suddenly douse yourself in perfume? You sprayed way too much," and then she let out a loud sneeze.
Lucia gave an awkward, shaky laugh and fumbled for an answer.
She said, "It was a new bottle I had just bought... I was just testing it out. Did I spray too much? Was the smell too strong?"
She continued, "Sorry about that... my stomach had been acting up lately, so I sprayed a little to cover the smell."
By that point, Nina had caught the scent too, and her brow immediately furrowed in a deep frown.
Nina said, "It was that heavy perfume mixed with that rank sewer stink. Lucia, how come your farts smelled different from everyone else's..."
Lucia did not respond to that. She just shrank down into her seat and pretended she could not hear anything, but her jaw tightened and her face went dark.
I glanced over at her worried, drawn expression. Of course I knew exactly why she had poured on so much perfume.
And I also knew full well that that rotten sewer stench was not Lucia's fart at all.
