Chapter 19

MAVERICK’S POV: When Addy stopped at the pack house steps and did not move. I instantly mind-linked Ni for answers. Addy was too stubborn and too busy faking mad at me to give me an answer. ‘Addy’s afraid. She doesn’t want to go in there. The pack, no like her. She’s panicking,’ Ni told me. I growled that mate was feeling scared because of simple building. I have neglected this pack by not stepping in on the issues of wolf-less humans in our pack. I should have addressed this as soon as I became Alpha, but it got dumped to the bottom of the list. ‘Mate needs us. Hold mate,’ Titan whimpered. I stepped towards Addy just as the front door opened and Chelsea, my top warrior trainer daughter, walked out and beside her were her two goons: Melissa and Vive, twins and daughters to my second highest warrior trainer. I never liked these girls smug attitudes, especially, Chelsea. Chelsea is the worst of the three, always thinking her flirting was attractive, but her high pitch squeal was definitely a turn off and it sounds like a squawking penguin. Never mind she is not very pretty, when all you see of her face covered in a heavy amount of make-up. Addy is more beautiful and smarter than Chelsea on any given day. Chelsea started talking, but I ignored her and let Titan listen in on the conversation she was having. I was only focused on Addy; I could hear her heart pounding fast and hard in her chest. ‘Get… uh oh,’ Titan said, a mix of a growl and whine. ‘What’s wrong, Titan?’ I asked, as I felt a sudden surge of power building up, along with a mix of pain and anger through the bond. ‘Ni is in control,’ he growled. “Sh*t!” I mumbled under my breath. ‘Kyle get to the pack house and bring some warriors.’ I stepped closer to Addy and the aura was pushing forward towards the girls, so it did not push me to the ground as quick. All three girls kneeled, instantly, and bowed their heads. I wrapped my arms around Addy’s waist, pulling her close to me. She did not resist, and immediately relaxed in my arms. Ni purred in response to my touch, and the aura that was holding the girls dissipated. “Give Addy back control, Ni,” I whispered. ‘She scared,’ Ni linked me. I growled, pure angry flowing through my entire body, my aura slipping out. What did these girls do to my delicate flower? The three girls were now shaking and crying, as they kneeled on the ground being shaken to the core by my Alpha aura. Kyle and four warriors showed up. Kyle was commanding to know what was wrong that I was so mad and that three girls were on their knees. ‘Why is Ni in control?’ He mind-linked me. ‘I will explain later. But these three need to go home and be on house arrest till I get to the bottom of the situation and what it has to do with my mate.’ ‘Yes, Alpha.’ “All three of you will be escorted home and shall not leave your house till I say so. And a warrior will stand guard of your house to make sure you do not leave,” I growled at the girls. Three of the warriors grabbed each one of the girls. Josh grabbed Chelsea, while Ryder and Caleb grabbed Vive and Melissa. Kyle gave them the warriors strict instructions, while I picked up Addy and carried her inside the pack house. ‘Alpha, Luna,’ I heard the warriors bow as I entered the house.
