Chapter 13

Maverick POV:

She sat on the bed twirling her fingers in the blanket that covering her lower half of her body. She didn’t look at me, just stare at the opposite wall. I could feel that she was uncomfortable, by what I wasn’t sure maybe it was me.

I shuffled towards the closest chair and pulled it beside the bed. I sat down and cleared my throat, which made her glance in my direction

“Yes, Alpha,” she whispered.

“Please call me, Maverick,” I said, my wolf, Titan just at the surface making my voice sound deeper.

I took a deep breath, as I saw her body tense in fear.

“I’m sorry, Alpha but I am not allowed to call you by your first name,” she mutters.

“My delicate flower, you are allowed to call me by my name. You will see very soon that by soon enough. Please rest!”

“Stop calling me delicate flower! I am not your property, so keep your pet names to yourself,” she growled, looking up to glare at me. “I won’t be staying here much longer anyways, I will be eighteen in a few hours which means I’m free to leave and you claiming I’m yours won’t stop me my decision. Besides I have no wolf. I have expected that. So just leave me alone.”

Hearing her raise her voice at me made my c**k twitch, goddess it is sexy, such an attitude and those lips. Wait a minute, did she said she leaving the pack?

“You will NOT be leaving the pack!” I growled, deeply, Titan coming to the surface, fighting to take over. ‘Mate wants to leave us.’

Addy whimpered and shrunk back into the bed, casting her head down in a low bow. Her heart frantically beating like it was going to beat out of her chest.

“I’m sorry Addy. What I meant was, um I hope you stay to see if you have a mate,”I sighed, a small smile spread across my lips, as she calmed down a bit.

“I don’t think that would be a good idea. I won’t have one and if I do I pretty sure he wouldn’t want me either way. Humans are, well I’m, they aren’t really built for werewolf world,” she responded, her tone of voice lingering with sadness.

“How do you know that unless you wait to see? You never know and may be completely surprised by your mates response to see you all dolled up and pretty on your birthday,” I replied, knowing that I was fully going to have her all to myself and it was gonna be great to have her by my side for the feast of my days.

“Promise you will stay to find your mate, please,” I pleaded, hoping deep down inside her wolf that I knew she had, was not gonna let her leave freely without getting to find me at her party.

Her parents are too much with the whole party planning. She is gonna be utterly surprised when she finds out tomorrow. Hopefully she likes what they planned.

“Fine, i promise,” she huffed. She finally looked up to steal a peak at my face. I stared right back at her, in which she quickly inverted her gaze back down to her lap. I smirked, as her cheeks blushed bright pink from embarrassment.

A small yawned from her, interrupted my staring at her cuteness.

“Get some sleep, little one. You have a big day tomorrow,” I told her, standing up and kissing the top of her head lightly, before I left the room to give her so privacy to sleep. I would return in a couple of minutes I just needed a cup of coffee. Besides I was not gonna leave my mate alone after what happened with the b***h’s mother.
