Chapter 2.4 Raven the Phoenix
"What did you say!"
Raven looked at the silver-haired man with wide eyes, her surprise could not be hidden.
"Is what you’re saying true, does having the number 1 tag really makes me the disciple of the Guardian I?!"
"Yes, it's true."
"Wow, that's amazing! But, how did you know about that?" Raven looked at him suspiciously.
"Erm... that's because I am the Guardian I, the Guardian of the First tower, Silver." Silver honestly said.
"You’re Silver?! Are you really him? But really, how dumb could you be to just take in a disciple who had the number 1 tag! Aren't you just too lazy?"
"Well, I am indeed lazy!" Silver stressed in the “lazy” part "But taking the number 1 tag also prove to be difficult, if you still remember, you had to wait patiently for the desk man to give you your numbered tag, right?"
"I did do that." Raven nodded.
"But normally, humans are not patient creatures and would quickly get impatient if they were to wait for an hour and would instead look for a fight. If one desired to be a disciple of mine, one must learn to be patient and disciplined."
"But I'm neither patient nor disciplined, I'm rough sometimes. Does that mean that you don't want me anymore?" Raven pouted as she crossed her arms.
"Hmm?" Silver looked at Raven amused. "Since I had already accepted you as my disciple and you even became my disciple fair and square, why would I not want you?" Unbeknownst to him, a smile crept onto his lips as he fondly caressed Raven's unruly peach hair.
"Mou~ stop it!" Even though Raven was grumbling, she was enjoying the attention her husband was giving her.
In a faraway land, the land of the "devils" err….. I mean the Phoenix Clan, a certain brunette was currently in a bad mood as she threw different kinds of expensive furniture everywhere in her room.
"Ahhh!! Why did I not become the disciple of the Guardian I?! Ah! Who other than I is worthy of becoming his disciple! I will not forgive that person who stole what was mine!!"
"First miss, his highness the crown prince is here." One of the shivering servants said as she bowed low not daring to meet her First Miss eyes.
"He's here? Then, what are you waiting for lead your miss to him, now!"
"Yes, First miss."
Yuka's face was brightly smiling as she walks out of her chamber, it was as if the twisted and ugly expression she had before was never there and instead a virtuous kind white lotus replaced her.
‘Don't let me catch you or else I will personally send you to hell!!’ Yuka thought darkly as her eyes sparkled when she saw the face of the handsome crown prince.
"Then, what should I do as your disciple, Silver?" Raven asked as she ate her nutritious meal.
Losing a lot of blood must be compensated by eating lots of nutritious foods that help enrich the blood. It's not like she needs it though since she is the bearer of the Phoenix, she is the Phoenix herself.
"As my disciple, you just need to cultivate as you always do and learn the meaning behind being a Guardian's disciple. There will be a gathering soon of all the Guardians together with their disciples, it will be the day for the Guardians to introduce their disciple to each other's disciple." Silver said as he helped wipe off a crumb from Raven's mouth, his actions were a little too intimate.
"Then what does it mean being a disciple of a Guardian, Silver? What's the difference between being an ordinary disciple of a sect to being a disciple of a Guardian?"
"Of course, the two are completely different. You may be still a disciple that cultivates but you will learn a Holy technique that was passed down by the Guardian's ancestors, it is way more powerful and stronger than what those Sects teach their disciples. Do you know why there are 7 Towers that have Guardians on it? Do you know why there is a need for a Guardian to guard each of the towers?" Silver asked as he looked out at somewhere unknown, his eyes dark with his thoughts.
"A Guardian is there to guard the tower? That's what I heard though." Raven shrugged.
"A Guardian does not simply guard the tower but the door inside the tower." Hearing what Silver said sparked Raven’s interest on the matter as she perked her ears up.
"A door inside the tower? But, I never heard of there being a door inside the tower though! Where is the door?!" Raven excitedly asked.
"The door? We're currently standing on it." Silver said amused.
"You mean, this entire tower is the door itself?!"
"That's right, the tower was, in fact, a door disguised as a tower but if the roof of this tower were to be taken down it would make the tower look like a door, a big door. The door was in fact a portal to another world, a world that is way more different than our world. The creatures behind the door were called Demons, they brought sickness and death to all humankind so the Guardians are there to protect the humans from these creatures."
"Then, what would happen if the door would be opened?"
"If that day does come……..." Silver looked her in the eye seriously. "It might be the end of the world."
"That's scary!" Raven shivered.
"But don't worry, that will never happen as long as the Guardians are alive the door won't be opened." Silver pat her hair fondly as he tried to reassure his "scared" disciple.
"What does it need to open the door, Silver?" Raven curiously asked.
Hearing her question, Silvers's face darkened as a glint flash through his ruby-red eyes.
"The door would only open if the heart of the Guardian that guards the tower would be offered as a sacrifice to open the door, which is the only way for the door to open."
"That... that's terrible! Don't worry Silver, I will protect you. I won't let anything happen to you, not on my watch!" Raven pat her chest reassuringly, she gave Silver a reassuring look.
She will never let any bad things to befall her husband, if they try to even touch just a strand of his hair they must first pass through her dead body before they could touch him!!
"Raven, you don't need to do that. Just protect yourself, I'll be fine on my own." Silver caressed her hair helplessly.
"Hmph! Don't believe me? I'll make you see just how strong I am one day!"
"Alright, alright, I know you’re strong but you need to take care of yourself more. I'm more worried about you, you can't even protect yourself from me then what would happen if you were to face an enemy?"
"That's different!" Raven loudly disagreed.
"What's different?"
"It's different because it's you but if it were an enemy then I will not hesitate to slay them into two pieces! I only put my guard down because it's you, because I trust you." Raven smiled.
Silver was speechless hearing her answer, he looked away, his face beat red and his ears burning red.
‘How could she just easily say those kinds of things to me, she makes me think otherwise.’
