Chapter 2.3 Raven the Phoenix
"B-Blood, give me your blood."
"Heh?" Raven was baffled and turned blank for a second, her small brain was having a hard time processing what the silver-haired man meant.
The silver-haired man gulp as he stared at her, he slowly leaned down as he grips her shoulders a little too tight so she could not escape from his grasp but when he was about to sink in his fangs his rationality returned at the final moment and shoved Raven down the ground.
"I told you to leave!" The man looked at the other way refusing to look at her or he might just jump on her.
Raven was snapped out from her trance when she was shoved down, she slowly sat up and did not move. She just continued on looking at the silver-haired man who was also looking at her at the corner of his eyes before quickly averting his eyes away.
‘Why is she still not running away?’ He wondered. ‘Why is she looking at me like that? Is she not scared of me? I almost ate her just now, what a stubborn girl!’
"Are you hungry?" After not talking for a while, Raven finally spoke her first sentence.
The silver-haired man was puzzled by her actions and unconsciously nodded, he facepalmed.
‘Why did I answer her!’
"Does it hurt when you’re hungry?" The silver-haired man yet again unconsciously nodded.
‘F*ck, stop nodding already!’ He berated himself.
"You only needed a mouthful, right?" The silver-haired man yet again stupidly nods.
‘What the heck is wrong with me!’
"Then……..."
Raven smirked, slowly she went towards him until the two of their bodies were so close to each other that their skin was almost touching.
"Take a bite." Raven pulled her collar down and showed her smooth white neck, tempting a sinner to take a bite.
Gulp.
The silver-haired man was baffled by her actions and could not react for a moment but when he came back to himself he turned his head away and tried to escape but Raven held him in place, she forced him to look at her.
"If you’re hungry then drink, if you ever get hungry in the future you can come find me and I'll let you drink to your heart’s content." Raven looked at him indulgently. What's the use of her Phoenix ability if not to feed her husband to his heart’s content, her Phoenix ability is really useful.
A certain Phoenix would have spat out a mouthful of blood if it were to hear what Raven had said about its ability!
"Wha?! What are you saying, are you not the least bit afraid of me?" The silver-haired man asked surprised when he heard what the stubborn woman said.
‘Drink to his heart's content? Is she crazy, if he were to really drink to his heart content then she will most likely die!’
"Afraid? If we’re talking about who is more scarier than the two of us then I will tell you, it won't be you but me." Raven stated. "Come on, hurry up if you want to drink."
"Can I?" When he remembered his thirst, he looked at Raven's smooth white neck once again, it's tempting him to take a bite.
He slowly leaned over as his thirst for blood took over, instead of gripping Raven tightly as he did previously, he brought her into his embrace instead and held her gently like she was a piece of a fragile treasure, afraid to break her with his touch.
He exhaled her scent when his nose was already lingering above her neck, her scent intoxicating, it drove him mad just by her being by his side but now that she was already in his embrace it drove him more to madness.
His tongue licks her neck like he was savoring his most favorite dish, he looked at her, his ruby red eyes clashing with sapphire ones. There was not even a hint of fear in those eyes, it was clear, too clear that he could even see himself reflecting in her eyes. He saw himself, he saw the monster that kept him awake at night, he saw the monster that he hated the most!
"It’s alright, don't be afraid. I'm here, I'll always be here." Raven looked at him with her clear bright eyes as she caressed his face that he unknowingly furrowed.
As if enchanted by her voice, he looked at her and was lost for a moment. He did not know what came to him at those moments but he believed her, he believed her like he always did before.
"Will you really be, always be with me?" He blankly said as he looked into her eyes.
"Always..." Raven smiled not looking away from those pair of misted ruby red eyes.
"Forever?"
"Forever, as long as forever exist I will always be by your side." Raven assured him as she kissed his forehead, all of her feelings were put into that one kiss.
The silver-haired man extended his fangs, his mouth hovering above Raven's exposed neck, slowly he sinks his fangs in. He tightly hugged her as he drinks her blood, afraid that she might disappear if he were to let go.
Raven also hugged him back, she hugged his head closer to her, her face slowly paled as her blood was getting drained.
She looked up at the boundless dark sky, the stars were twinkling and the moon ever so bright. The moonlight gave an ethereal glow to the couple who were hugging each other under the moonlight, it was bound to be a night to be remembered, a night of blood and love.
In a huge room painted with silver paint, a woman in red occupied the big bed at the center of the room.
The woman slowly fluttered her eyes open and calmly surveyed her surroundings and slowly sat up but her jelly bones failed her, she fell right back on the bed, her head dizzy.
"Don't move just yet and have a rest, you lost a lot of blood." A silver-haired man walked out from the darkness and stood beside her bed, he was about to help her up but then hesitated and retrieved his hand.
"Where am I?" Raven asked while looking at the silver-haired man.
"You’re in my tower, my house exactly." The silver-haired man explained as he looked at her, his eyes filled with different kinds of complicated emotions.
"How many days had it been since I passed out?"
"2 days exactly."
"What?!"
Hearing that it was already 2 days since she passed out, Raven quickly bolted up straight but got dizzy right after and was about to fall right back on her bed, when she was brought into a warm embrace.
The silver-haired man took pity on her and decided to help her up, he sat beside her as he supported her frail body.
"Do you have something to do 2 days ago?" The silver-haired man asked as a guilty look surfaced on his face.
"Well, sigh... it's nothing important. Well, I guess I have no use for this now." Raven held her numbered tag and was about to throw it away when the silver-haired man held her hand.
"A number tag? Were you supposed to be joining the selection of the disciples?" The silver-haired man had a complicated look on his face.
"Yes. Did you know because of this tag? Well, I was just trying my luck and see if I might get chosen by one of the Guardians but now sigh... this is pretty much useless." Raven sighed sadly since one of her side missions had now already failed.
She could no longer be a disciple of the Guardians since they only take one disciple in their whole life unless if their disciple died then there might be a chance for them to choose again and the one chance of a lifetime opportunity she had was ruined.
"You got the number tag with the number 1, right?"
"Yup. Number 1, the first." Raven sighed again seeing her number 1 tag.
"Uhm... Don't be sad, everything is going to be alright." The silver-haired man tried to comfort her.
"I'm not sad or anything, its fine no need to get guilty. Hmm, is something wrong?"
"You see... the number 1 tag would actually make you immediately the disciple of the Guardian I." The silver-haired man scratched his cheeks.
"What did you say!"
