Chapter 2.2 Raven the Phoenix
"Is this the AshWood Empire?" A beautiful woman in red stood in front of the gates of the AshWood Empire, her beautiful figure enchanting everyone that looks her way. Even thought they were unable to see her face behind the cloth covering half of her face, they knew that she was undoubtedly an earth shattering beauty.
Clear or now known as Raven her new name, walked towards the Central plaza where the selection of the disciples for the 7 Guardian were taking place. Many cultivators were trying their luck to enter the tutelage of one of the Guardians of the 7 Towers and if they were to fail then they would just go back to their own Sect, only the most talented of the cultivators dared to enter the selection since the cultivators that they will be competing against are all top notch!
Raven leisurely walk at her own pace as she look at the long line of disciples wannabe, she then walk to the middle age man sitting in front of a table writing something.
The old man look up when he felt Raven approaching, he raised an eyebrow and then continued on writing.
"Good day to you brother, I am here for the selection of disciples." Raven politely smiled and waited for the old man to speak.
The old man did not immediately handed her, her number tag and only continued on writing for almost about an hour still Raven smiled at him politely. After about an hour passed, the old man still did not say anything but handed her a number tag and then continued writing.
Raven quickly left after saying her thanks and look at her number tag, she smiled.
"No. 1? Seeing so many people already having their numbered tags why is mine numbered 1? It looks like this test is not that easy at all."
Raven smiled like a Cheshire cat, she kept her number tag and went to check in an inn since the choosing of disciples is still 2 days away. She still has much time left!
Raven was sitting in a lotus position in the middle of a lake, slowly she fluttered her eyes open and exhaled.
She stood up from her lotus position and the next second she was already standing by the side of the lake, her clothes dry.
"What’s that?" Upon the side of the lake, Raven saw a shining object and pick it up but there was also another hand that picked up the shining object with her at the same time.
Their eyes clashed, ruby red eyes met her sapphire ones, spark flew in the air. She felt her heart beat and sped up, her soul tugging her towards this person, finally she found him!
"I... Is this yours?" Raven asked as she held the silver mask in her hands, she beamed a beautiful smile towards him.
As the silver haired man snapped out from his trance, he quickly hid his face away from her sight even forgetting the mask in her hands.
"Did you see?" The silver haired man said almost in a whisper.
"What?" Raven asked puzzled. What did she see?
"Did you see it?" The silver haired man suddenly raised his voice and looked at Raven through the crack of his fingers, his ruby red eyes staring at her with an unknown emotion.
"What do you mean, what did I see?" Raven was really puzzled why her Hubby suddenly raised his voice against her, did she do anything that raised the ire of her Hubby?
"Did you really not see?" The silver haired man asked her suspiciously.
"I'm really confused, why do you keep on asking me if I saw something or not. What is it, what is it that you don’t want me to see?" Raven gripped the mask tightly over her chest as she looked at the man in front of her, she's really confused now.
‘Did her husband become a psycho in this lifetime?’
"Did you really not see?" The silver haired man asked once again.
"What is it? What do you want to know? What is it that you don't want me to see......." Raven’s eyes bulge at the realization of what he keep on talking about.
Seeing Raven’s expression change, the silver haired man's heart frantically beat.
He unconsciously reached out to her and grab both of her shoulders making her look at him.
Now that the man no longer hid his face Raven could finally see the bulging red veins in his face. It was squirming like a worm on his face, the red veins were pretty much alive.
"You...." Raven dropped the mask that she was holding and unconsciously reach out her hands to his face, caressing it.
A hint of sadness and love could be seen in her doe sapphire eyes, the silver haired man was puzzled by her expression since he had never seen anyone he knew make that kind of expression when they saw his face.
‘My child, run!’ The Phoenix inside Raven suddenly shouted in fear. "Get away from him, his dangerous!" It hissed.
'What do you mean?' Raven asked confused.
‘Just do as I tell you and run, you don't know what kind of monster you are facing now. He is one of those monsters of the night, they were humans who were cursed by those Demons behind the door that the 7 Guardians are protecting. When one is cursed by the monsters behind the door they will become monsters themselves who lived on by drinking the blood of the living, unless they kill the monster that cursed them they will never be relieved of its curse. That red vein on his face is the best proof of him being one of the creatures of the night, you must run now before it's too late! Tonight, tonight is the night that they will fed on any livings blood!’
As if on cue, the sun had already started to set. The sky darkened and the surrounding was slowly swallowed by darkness, the red vein on the silver haired man started to turn and twist as if it was in pain.
"Ahhh!" The silver haired man screamed as he fell to his knees, he covered his face with both of his hands.
"Are you alright?" Raven asked the man worried, she looked at the man who was howling in pain, she tried to help him up but the silver haired man only glared at her.
"L-Leave, leave me alone if you want to live!" The silver haired man said between gritted teeth.
"I... I can't, I won't leave you here to suffer alone." Raven stubbornly stayed with the silver haired man and went on her knees.
"L-Leave!" The man growled at her but Raven kneeled at where she is as she look at him with a face full of worry.
"Are you in any kind of pain? How can I help you tell me, I'll help." Raven was not the least bit threatened and even help support the man up.
Being help by a stranger, the silver haired man looked at her with eyes full of complicated emotions.
‘Child, what are you doing instead of running?’ The Phoenix look at her nervously seeing the thirsty look in the silver haired man's eyes.
The silver haired man seemed to lose his rationality for a second when Raven's smooth white neck brush on his face when she helped him up, he grip her arms tightly and looked at her almost drooling.
"B-Blood, give me your blood."
