The Halloween Monster

Chapter two

In the secret hideout at school we found our friends.

Jude was on the couch in his normal hoody and jeans that hung low on his hips secured by a black leather belt. With his red hair and slightly tanned skin and gorgeous blue eyes, he looked better than us at the moment. His girlfriend Latisha with her beautiful red brown fro she looked gorgeous in her over grown sweater and tights. Hoops in her ears that bounce every time she moves. Which is often because her and Jude are racing on the 360.

Jace and Lucy looked snuggled up on the other end of the couch exact replica of his brother down to clothing, you could almost never tell them apart unless you knew their eye colour. Being shifters and twins they like to swap eye colours but that stopped when they met their mates.

Jace having piercing green eyes that looked banked with mischief while his brothers were blue and held laughter, you never knew what they were up to. Lucy on Jaces lap had her signature killer queen dress, haltered around her neck paired with a white blouse to top it off and a pearl necklace with matching earrings. They were total opposites but absolutely complimented each other.

Snuggling up on the end of the couch having a private conversation in their own little world. Maybe talking about the future? Who knows? Their moment broken when Xavier and Orillya (Lia) threw popcorn at their heads. Jace looked up and gave him a dirty eye and growled about not having privacy.

“Get a room you two” Xavier jested. Sitting in the chair with Lia on his lap. Lia beautiful blonde with cat like brownish yellow eyes that could enchant you from feet away, she was absolutely flawless today wearing her hair in a high bun with flyaways and hoops in her ears. Her grey sweater dress, knee high boots, and black tights were slaying it all together. I swear the men have no style here because Xavier is in a hoody and jeans with a… is that my f*****g purple belt??

Next thing I know they’re all in their feet looking at me and Johnny. Jace looked like he took some type of training in tie Kwan looser with his stance? God what is he doing Xavier has Lia behind him and Jude is hiding behind Lucy.

“What the f**k?” Oops.. I didn’t mean to say that out loud.

“Johnny?” Everyone said at the same time. I looked back at him and seen his surprise. But… I’m not all that surprised. If we’re not technically dead but veil bound until the curse breaking, that means I can still use my magic and communicate with them.

“Yes guys it’s Johnny. We will explain.. actually that’s a lie.. Johnny will tell us everything.” I say as I look over at Johnny who still seems surprised everyone can see him. My heart hurts knowing he’s been suffering 2 months of not being heard or seen. I go over trying comfort him but my arms go threw him and I just want to cry again.

Johnny snaps out of his surprise realizing I was going to have another freak out. He looked over at me and said to group “yeah I’ll tell you guys… on one condition…” everyone grumbles while I giggle. He does this every time.

“No!” Jace says at the same time Jude says “Yes!” Jace looks over and gives Jude a dirty look. What is with Jace, he’s so grumpy pants. Next thing we know purple people eater in playing on the radio and we all begin to dance like the nerds we obviously are. By the time the song is done everyone is laughing and whipping their eyes… well they all are but Johnny and I and here I am getting irritated again. My tears have healing powers. I always cry in a crisis, It’s my healing touch.

When Johnny notices I’m on the brink again he starts telling them everything. How Ally (Allyson Baker) hated how we found our mates in ninth grade and are graduating our community college in our small town this year to plan their future together, the only four couples in town to have found their mates early in life, not having to travel to find them like the others. How instead of rejoicing or waiting on fates to bless her, that she ends up hating and cursing these couples. All because she didn’t get her mate like they did. How she made the curse, how we have a year to break it or we’re really dead. When Johnny is done everyone disperses to go learn how to break this curse.

Once we’re alone in our little hide out we have made out at the school. I look over at Johnny and tell him. “I have a bad feeling that we lose almost everyone before this is fixed” dread coiling in my stomach thinking that maybe. I’m more right than I like.
