PROLOGUE:
It all began on the day of the great light. People believed it was the recreation of the word; the great light that created the entire universe, mankind and all the other species. The light first appeared on the second day of the year 2256 and everything that came in contact with it instantly turned to stone.
…
I woke up that morning without the slightest hint that this very day would be the beginning of the end. I slid my legs into my slip flops and lazily strode down the stairs. “Good morning mom”, I greeted as I spotted her in the kitchen. Dad was sitting in the living room glued to the TV as usual.
“Okayo hakashi”
“Where’s Asagi?”, I asked as I turned my neck to look for her around.
“She’s in the backyard”, mom responded,
“She was up early today; go play with her she must be bored”.
“Okay Mom”.
Asagi is my little sister, she was already twelve years old, but she is pretty naïve about a lot of things. I walked out to the yard and watched her play alone for sometime before joining her.
Suddenly, the sun seemed to shine brighter and brighter but ironically it only got colder. The breeze that brushed against my face sent chills running down my spine. Not only was it chill but for some reason it feel dreaded.
“Aaaaa hh”, Asagi screamed.
I averted my eyes from the light and went to her aide. My eyes widened, I couldn’t move after taking a few steps. I knew something was off. This light… this breeze were that of despair and destruction.
My legs were turning into stone; Asagai’s body was already half-way petrified. I thought of what I could possibly do next, calling Mom and Dad, Nah, I shook my head in disagreement, they would probably meet the same fate if they came rushing out. If they stay safe for a while that way there will be salvation for I and Asagi. Soon enough everything was engulfed in darkness, and my consciousness was falling apart into nothingness.
I felt alone…
…
“Kakashi”
“Yes Sir”, I replied.
“Remember what year this is 3”
“2260, Sir”
‘Good, the second wave is upon us; I’m afraid there will be no chance of survival I’m sending you back tot eh first wave, your our only hope of salvation”,
“Understand sir, I’ll do my best”.
