CHAPTER 18

Skylar's POV

I woke up to the wonderful smell of bacon.

Did I sleep through the evening to the next morning?

No way!!

I got up and walked the bathroom which is beautiful it's all white with inspiring quotes on the wall written in pink and baby blue.

I go to was my face when I notice a new toothbrush and hairbrush layed out on the sink among other things I usually use for my hygienic routine.

I swear Kyky is so thoughtful or was it Dee?

Either way I need to thank them.

I got to it and showered as well only then I thought about me not having any clothes in this room.

And I don't believe either one of them thought I would've showered here.

I dried myself and walked back in the bedroom to see if I can borrow something from the closet.

I saw a lot of men's clothing so I'm guessing this is Dee's extra closet so I grabbed a boxers, socks and shirt.

I walked out after dressing and went to the kitchen to a wonderful sight.

Dee is cooking while Kyky is hugging her from behind trying to steal bacon.

I quietly say down by the island and watch them.

"No Kay wait till I'm finished."

"But I want nowwwww!!"

"You little spoil brat, I said wait Damn it"

"Ok geez........oh hey Sky. How long have you been there?"

"Long enough." I giggled. "What time is it?"

" 6:23 am"

"Waw I did sleep through the evening into the morning."

"Yes you did. I almost woke you up to eat but Kaydie made me leave you. So I need you to have a big breakfast this morning ok?"

"Okay Dee!"

"Just okay? No arguing?

I laughed, "No I'll try my very best to eat everything you put in front of me."

"You might regret that." Kyky said then laughed.

"Dee don't go over board and waste food."

"No you said you'll try to eat everything no backing out now."

We all laughed while I waited for our breakfast.

Kyky came and hugged me ensuring me that they're both always here whenever I need to talk.

I'm beginning to realise she the affectionate type while Dee is the nurturer.

Perfect combination for me.

We started eating and talking about our businesses.

They were telling me that they had their lawyer checking out my lawyers to see who is the traitor.

They even told me how they both took over their companies and what they had to do to run it.

We then started debating in who had the worse dad.

It's not funny but we still laughed at our own pain.

It's better to laugh it off than it consumed you from the inside my mother used to say.

I zoned out of the conversation thinking about the video of my mother.

I snapped out of it when Kayden touched my shoulder.

I then looked at Khadijah who seems just as worried as her wife.

"Where did you go just now?"

"I was thinking about the video my mother left for my dad and I."

"Oh? Did you get to watch it?" -Dee

"The first part that was meant for my father yes. I'm scared to watch the other half on my own."

"If you want I can watch it with you, we both can."

"Thank you......" I stopped when I heard my phone ringing.

It was my father I answered after rolling my eyes.

"Yes Jared, how can I help you this morning?"

I heard him sighed, " Princess I just called to tell you that I'm sorry. I have no excuses I should've done better by you and your mother. I know I can't make up for years that I missed being your dad but I hope that we could at least have a relationship now. If that's ok with you. "

I was silent. Mostly because I was trying to figure out of he was being dishonest or sincere.

"You don't have to answer right now. I know I have a lot to work to do on myself though I hope that some day we can have some sort of bond."

Still silence..........

" I was also wondering if you can do me a favour."

"Oh that's what this is about...... ok Jared what is it?"

"Can you come home for a bit I have something to show you? And can you bring the tape with you please? I would really love to see my wi..... *clears throat* your mother again."

"Thank you for correcting yourself and I'll think about it."

"Oh I was hoping you can come today....... but it's totally up to you."

"Ok well I still need to think about it."

"Okay Princess hopefully I see you today. I love you."

"Bye Jared!!" I hang up

" Everything okay?" -Kyky

" I'm not sure my father is acting strange. "

Dee silently got up and walked to the sink with her dishes.

"You know something don't you?"

She sighed, "Yesterday he kicked your stepmother out after you left. Then he sold all the clothes and unnecessary things she didn't need or used." -Dee

"How do you know tha..... never mind. Do you think he's changing or is it all some stunt to get on my good side?"

"Honestly I don't know." - Dee

"Yesterday my mom dropped a bomb in us. Apparently Stella or Sandra whichever is her real name.... was stalking my mother and father.

She was an old flame of my dad and he got with my mom for her money then he fell for her and dropped Stella.

So she stalked them for however long then fabricate a story that my dad was cheating on my mom the whole relationship and send the information to my mother in the hospital after she just gave birth to me.

So my mom pulled away from my father mentally and physically but emotionally she still loved him.

So she refused to let him go.

Yesterday after watching it my father seemed to be in a daze after hearing her voice.

Now I'm thinking he didn't know what Stella did and got angry he allowed her to ruin his family.

That being said I don't want to get my hopes up.

Just in case."

" I agree but I also think you should experience the love your father is trying to give you. By all means be in guard but accept it trust me if you don't you may regret it." -Kyky

I know by the look on her face she's also referring to get rather who she still doesn't speak too.

He ignored her existence till her needed her so she does the same to him now.

Which reminds me I never knew what happened to Dee's father.

I'll ask her another time.

"Ok fine I'll go."
