3. Family reunion

James POV

What did she mean with me needing help? I've never needed help in my life before.

OK, maybe when I was a pup and wasn't blessed with the diamond yet. I smile as I think back to those days. I remember playing with my brothers and them always looking out for me.

But that's not the case anymore.

They need me now, not the other way around. So why did the Godess say I might need help in the future? And why on earth would I need help from Ellie? She just turned into a Lycan a few months ago. How could she be of any help for me?

I shift back into my human form and put one the clothes I've left by the door. I walk inside the palace and smile as the smell of fresh baked cookies reaches my nose. Martha, our kitchens Sheff, must know I'm back home. I take a peek inside the kitchen and I can see the cookies inside a bowl with a note that has my name on it.

Welcome home, princess!

I smile at the card, feeling slightly relieved that someone  is  happy with me coming back home.

She always does this.

The goddess.

She always comes to me when I really do know want to leave the place I am at.

Yet I always have to obey.

"Loving the job" I mumble as I walk and eat the cookies that where made for me.

"You shouldn't eat and walk at the same time, you know."

I heard a familiar voice coming from the stairs and just the sound of her voice makes me smile.

"You shouldn't startle the best warrior in the world, you know." I replied while looking at Bella while she walks down the stairs gracefully. It is still a riddle to me, how such an i***t as my oldest brother is mated with such an amazing woman like her. Sure, they also had a rough start but she has always shown us to be capable of handling everything that is thrown in her path.

Even our father.

Just like Logan, I look more like him then our mother. However she raised us and she showed me how to be kind and learned me how to control my wolf. Being the protector is not always easy, especially when you realize I am both Lycan as a Wherewolf. Luckily our mother had seen it before and she helped me getting in control.

Maybe I love Bella so much because I also look a lot like Logan.

Both Logan and I have had our problems with our wolfs en Bella always seems to understand the struggle.

Bella smiles at me and I try not to stare at her amazing figure. She is wearing a long navy blue dress with sleeves and I can't help but feel a little bit jealous off her femancy.

She truly looks like the amazing queen she is. She takes my hand and pulls me softly towards the dining room.

"Bella, this is the last place I want to be right now." my eyes starting to fill up as I'm holding back my tears.

I still have no clue in what the Godess her profacy means and I really do not want to face Ellie after what had happened today.

"Today has been very imbaracing already" I tried to get myself out of another family dinner. Bella just smiles as she continues to pull me towards the dining room.

I sigh as I know I've lost this battle and she pulls me inside with a smile on her face.

The extremely large, and may I ad obnoxious, table is filled with food. Logan is sitting on the head of the table with Reagan besides him and Ellie on the other side of Reagan. Bella takes her seat next to her mate and she kisses him on the cheek as the sits down.

I sigh once more as I walk up to my chair next to Bella.

Ellie and Bella soon began to talk about their duties for the next day and again I feel a little jealous. I've never been good in this kind of stuf and eventough I am happy Bella found such a good help in Ellie, I kind of wished I was able to do that to.

Both of my brothers keep quiet as they both stare at me.

After a few minutes, Logan slams his fist on the table startling everybody in the room but me. I've know his impatient character all my life.

"Are we just going to ignore the elephant in the room?" he asked while looking at me.

"Last time I checked I wasn't able to shift into an elephant."

I reply calmly. I see Ellie smile at my response and can't help but wonder if maybe I am able to like Ellie as much as I like Bella. Logan freezes for a second but quickly regains himself.

"Don't be so smart." he says before giving me a warning glance. I want to respond to that but I do know when to shut up.

"So instead of welcoming your sister like a normal person, you call her a smart elephant. You know, you haven't even said hello to me..." I stare back at him. He truly is an i***t. I look at Reagen and give him the same look "both of you didn't".

Reagan gives me an apologetic smile but says nothing.

Useless.

I roll my eyes at him and push my food around my plate with my fork. I'm not even hungry. What am I doing here again?

"You expect me to just say   hello  while you kidnap our brother's mate." he says while macking a gesture with his hand. "You cannot do this James! Speaking from experience I can tell you it isn't fun to see your mate being pulled out of our world."

I sigh once more.

"it's is not our decision, Logan, it isn't mine and especially not yours to make."

"I know it has to happen, however you choose the scenery. And you always choose to do it the hard way. Why can't you just, I don't know, invite her instead of taking her?" He stares at me waiting for my answer.

"And how would you expect me to do that? You guys didn't even tell her I exist!" I asked him in return. I stared at my brother with an angry look on my face only to see the amusement on his face.

"You think that's funny?"

"Sorry, you are right. That wasn't very thoughtful. Where have you been the last two years James?"

"Where is this sudden interest coming from? You could have just called me and ask." my eyes are watering up again and I try my best not to show them.

"We have been busy to James. You know, becoming King and Queen... Wait, you weren't here for that either!" his voice has almost reached his screaming volume and I know I have to chose my next words carefully.

"Vampires." I answered him and he gives me an questionable look.

"We have had a vampire problem in the north section. Father send me there and did not want me to return before I handled it. So I did, I think." I answered him while playing with my food again.

"I am sorry James. We didn't know. How about we talk about that tomorrow and leave it with that for tonight." Reagan speaks up for the first time. I give him a thankful nod.

"How about a welcome home party?"

My eyes widen and look at Ellie in shock.

"Ehhh Ellie. I am not very good at big happenings... Let's just say I've learned my mistakes."

"Good!" Bella jumps in the conversation

"Since you learned form then, we won't be having any problems then will we?"

Both of my brothers chuckle at Bella and I wonder why I came back here once again.
