Kill Nine!

Mason POV

It's finally evening, the palace was almost empty. Everyone has ran into the woods to hunt for food. Since I'm the Alpha, I'm able to control myself till whenever I want.

"Don't hold it in, you can leave" I said to Alex.

"I have to finish this work before tomorrow" Alex growled, his eyes were already switching to gold. He was starving but he's still stubborn as usual.

"Fine, I'm leaving already. You can go whenever you want to" I sprung up. He also stood up and followed me behind.

I smirked as we both ran into the woods. It was close to the palace, so there's an easy access. I started taking off my shirt, yawning. I'm super tired. I couldn't wait for Nine to make me sleep again. When his hands touched my shoulder, it was so soft and small. A normal man's hand suppose to be huge and strong but his hands were different.

"Alpha? Mason!" Alex called my name. I snapped back to reality.

Alex was talking to me through telepathy. He already shifted and was waiting for me.

I pulled my pants and he turned away immediately. Maybe he was looking out for me. I shifted and howled loudly. Wolves from different angle howled in response. The hunting started. The smell of blood filled the air. Alex hunted with me and we fed together.

I wasn't starving too much so I washed myself in the nearest lake and dressed up. Alex was still hunting for more.

"I'm leaving for the ritual" I said.

"I'll join you soon alpha" he responded through telepathy and ran off. I took my jacket and left the woods. The car was waiting for me at the entrance of the woods, I hurriedly entered and the driver drove down to the temple. It has been like this ever since I became Alpha.

I hope the moon guardian isn't found today. There's a war preparations, I don't want to start any wedding preparations. I don't want to put so much workload on Nine....and yeah, Alex.

I head into the temple, towards the alter. The ladies saw me and started squealing happily.

"Oh my... He's so hot"

"Alpha Mason look so charming. His hair is really longer than mine"

They cheered. I frowned in disgust and walked towards my seat. I didn't want them to touch me at all. The ritual started. It was just a normal ritual, to determine if any of the candidates already gotten their wolves and it must be white.

Where I sat, I wasn't looking at the candidates or priest Isaiah, my eyes were glued on Nine where he stood. He leaned on the wall, folding his hands. He really is... Hold on, why am I thinking about a man when I'm in the present of the people that supposed to be my wife.

"Alpha Mason!" Leah waved to me where she sat. I threw my gaze away, pretending I didn't see her. Isaiah finally walked towards me.

"Results?" I asked. He shook his head. I excitedly got up and moved closer to the podium.

"Hello everyone"

"Alpha Mason!" They cheered. They are just like a fan club.

"There'll be a war soon" I spoke and they immediately keep quiet to listen to me.

"It's my responsibility to protect you all, so you'll be moving into the Alpha's estate"

They gasped and started murmuring.

"I heard it's beautiful"

"Oh my... I can't wait"

"The men behind will help you settle in, together with your maids. Please, there'll be rules and I hope you follow them accordingly" he said. They went back to screaming.

They left to start packing their bags and heading to the bus. I was walking back to my car when I bumped into Nine.

"I'm glad you didn't find the moon guardian today" he said.

"I'm also glad. Did you get your wolf today?" I asked. He shook his head and lowered his gaze like he was sad. I patted his shoulder.

"I'm sure you'll see it soon. Don't forget to report to my quarters" I walked away. They were too many eyes. I wanted to hug him and comfort him not to cry but, I couldn't. I just entered my car and drove off.

Why did I want to hug him? I have to keep reminding myself that Nine is a man.

At the end of everything, Alex finished hunting so late and ended up finishing his work. He led me to my chambers for a bath as he reported.

"The candidates have settled in and the rules have been given to them"

"I hope they obey the first rule. If Gomez gets his hands on them, I can't tell what will happen"

"Alpha Dennis also sent a message that the northerners are fully prepared for the war already"

"Nine was right, this war may happen earlier than imagine. Send a message to all Alphas. There'll be a meeting tomorrow" I said.

Alex nodded and started jotting down. They was a soft knock on the door. I couldn't perceive the person's scent because he doesn't have a wolf yet, but I can tell it's Nine. His hands are so small that he can't knock hard.

"Come in!" I yelled. He pushed the door opened and walked in.

"Hey Alex!" He greeted Alex first. I frowned and tightened my fist. Wait! Why am I jealous?

"How was your trip to the temple?"

"It's nice" he replied, smiling. He turned to me and finally bowed, wearing a serious look on his face.

"Greetings Alpha"

"Call me Mason when we're alone" I said. Alex's mouth fell wide open when I said that. Even Nine was surprised.

"I wouldn't dare to call the Alpha by his name" he said.

"But, you called Alex by his name" I frowned. He scratched his head.

"That's because he... Well, you're the Alpha"

"Nine, call me Mason. It's an order" I frowned. He turned his face shyly.

"M.. Mason" He muttered. I can tell Nine is very cute, that's why Alex is even attracted to him.

"Good" I said and turned to Alex.

"If you're done, you may leave"

"Are you two going to be alone?" He asked.

"Do you have a problem with that?" I asked. Alex bowed.

"Excuse me then" he said and left us. He was still staring at Nine as he left.

Nine looked at me and I looked at him before he shifted his gaze. I don't know what was going on in his small head.

"Come closer" I said. He walked closer, standing by my bed.

"You can just massage my head" I said. He stood opposite me bent to massage my head. His finger tips were so cold and relaxing. I was feeling my consciousness leaving my body already.

It felt so good. When I opened my eyes and see Nine standing, I pulled his hand and made him sit close to me.

"You can just sit there until I fall asleep" I said.

"Yes Alpha"

"Mason!" I corrected.

"Oh, Mason" he flinched. I smiled and closed my eyes. He kept on pressing my head slowly and nicely till I finally slept off.

The next morning when I woke up, I felt something heavy on my chest. I groaned softly and opened my eyes. Nine was asleep on my chest. He must have dozed off when he was trying to make me sleep. I don't feel disgusted whenever he touches me, instead I yearn more for his touch. How weird.

I looked at his fine face, it was so smooth and his lips were calling me. I almost got tempted to kiss them the last time but now... It's more difficult. I'm trying to hold myself back. My thumb touched his lips again. It was soft and smooth.

The door immediately threw open and Alex entered. I removed my hand from Nine's lips immediately.

Alex saw the position we were in cleared his throat.

"I'll wake him up" he said.

"No need" I said. I got up and laid Nine on my bed. He's so small and fragile. But he's better than when I bought from the slave house.

Alex frowned, seeing Nine on my bed.

"You can't let anyone lay on your bed except your mate, Alpha"

"But you and I laid on it before"

"We were little then, it's different now" Alex changed his look. I smirked and wore my robe.

"Why did you come here? If it's not urgent, leave"

"Well, it's about Nine"

"What about him?" I frowned.

"We caught some assassins sneaking into the palace last night. They confessed after some tortue, they were here to kill Nine" he said. I know I promise to protect Nine, I'll have to get serious about it now.

"Kill them and send a letter to the assassin house. Tell them I'm with Nine now. If they don't want to accept it, they should come for negotiation" he said.

Alex bowed.

"I'll do so, Alpha"
