Chapter 3 - Seth

528 Words
"Hey Bro," my best friend Nolan greets me as soon as he sees me in the schoolyard. I look at the boy huddled in the corner of the yard and try not to wonder how quickly he found the smoking corner. However, that was also typical again. "Hey Nolan," I lean against the wall next to me and let my eyes wander over the students nearby. A short distance away, the fifth and sixth graders climb on climbing frames, while the students in my own age group seem to gather at a low wall. It might even be some special meeting place for members of my level. But I am not completely sure because I, like many others this year, are new. "Do you want to?", Nolan holds out his cigarette, but I wave off: "Just not." He shrugs his shoulders for a moment and then begins to pull on it again. In the meantime, I am busy studying the other students. In fact, I have to admit that most girls do not look as bad as I expected from a high school. It may be a bit of a cliché, but I had expected a little more nerds. "What are you staring at?", Apparently Nolan has noticed my interested look. I nod without a word in the direction of a giggling group of girls. "Not bad," he comments straightaway and I agree with a nod. "The far right fits pretty well into your prey scheme, right?" Says my best friend. Surprisingly, he is not so wrong. Said young lady wears a tight hotpants and pretty cut white T-shirt. As a result, her darker skin color stands out pretty well and her strong make-up does not make her look really bad. "Does she have the potential to be the first in this school?" Nolan continues in his questioning. Honestly, I shrug, "I can not say yet, so I'll have to talk to her first." Since when are you doing such a thing? ", With an amused grin he throws the cigarette on the floor and then extinguishes the light embers with the sole of his shoe. "Haha, very funny," I murmur, but knows exactly what he means. To be honest, at my last school, I did not pay much attention to good conversations and instead enjoyed myself directly. "That was just a joke, of course, Bro," he bumps me sideways. "I know," I reply, "but you're right, that's really atypical for me." He opens his mouth to answer something but is distracted by something in front of us. I follow his gaze and discover a dark-haired girl and a blond boy, who could also be in my step. "And what about that?", He follows the girl with his look. For a moment, I look at her. In fact, she does not look bad. After all, she had already noticed him in English before. Her dark hair falls in shallow curls over her shoulders and the white dress that she wears fits her. "It's okay," I play it down, but continue to follow her with her eyes. "Yeah," he looks at me mischievously: "But your glance says something else."
