Chapter 4 - Kaitlyn

638 Words
Kaitlyn "So how was the lesson so far?" Henry asks interestedly without taking his eyes off me for a second and it's obvious he really cares. "All right," I shrug. In fact, the previous lessons were not so bad. Passable. "I've met someone new," I tell him casually. He puts his hands on his hips: "Will you replace me on the first day?" I look at him a little stunned, but understand directly that it was just a joke: "Of course not, you can not replace you." "You say that now, but surely you'll forget me soon," he sounds playfully shaken and I can not help but grin widely. Luckily, we both have a pretty similar sense of humor, which makes it easy for us to spend time together without ever getting our hands on each other. "But seriously," I try again to bring some seriousness into the conversation: "She is really nice and I believe that we could become really good friends." He smiles at me gently, "If you say so." "Yes, I say," I cross my arms over my chest: "You will certainly like them too." "Later you can introduce it to me," he says, but I already have another plan. "That does not sound bad, but I have a better idea," I tell him. With his eyes closed, he watches me for a few seconds, then nods: "Tell me!" Immediately I submit my idea to him: "How about we go to the cinema with three of us?" "Did you ask her already?", He puts his hands on his hips and looks at me critically. Apparently he does not trust me completely. But with his guess he is not exactly bad. "More or less," I bite my lower lip while skipping away from his gaze. "Rather more or less?" He asks, raising his eyebrows. "Rather less," I say honestly, looking at the ground beneath my feet. "You have not asked yet?", His tone is more than critical. "I have not asked yet," I answer his question straightaway. Before he can answer that, I quickly go on, "But I'll do it next time I see her." "Do you think she's going to say 'yes'?" He crossed his arms over his chest, "I mean, you hardly know each other, no more than an hour." "So what?", I shrug my shoulders indifferently: "That does not mean we can not spend time together, if we do not spend time together, we'll never become friends, and she'll say yes, I'm one hundred percent sure . " "How can a human always be so sure," he smiles lightly and then puts his arm around my hips. I lean against him as he pulls me closer. "I'm just optimistic," I try to defend myself. "Since when that?", He asks skeptically. I shrug instinctively, "New year, new opportunities, so why not try to be a little bit more positive?" "Because I like you the way you are," he grins, but I realize how serious he is. In fact, Henry has always been someone who has taken me as I am, never ever trying to change me to his own advantage just a little bit. Instead, we both have always admired and valued each and every attribute of each other. "But now another topic," the blond boy asks me. "And which one?", I look at him questioningly. What other topic could be interesting? "Why is that guy over there staring at you like that all the time?" He nods, "Do you know each other?" Amazed I follow his look a dark-haired boy who could be my age. I watch him partly interested and, partly skeptical. "No, how could I know him?" I ask, as I notice how the guy looks away when our eyes meet: "After all, I'm new here, I hardly know anyone here."
