It’s been a week since the club day. Almost every student was always checking the bulletin boards to check the schedule for their audition for them to be accepted in the club that they wanted. As for Lisa and Jennie, they were scheduled on the same day which was tomorrow. It was already 3 in the morning but Jennie couldn’t sleep. She was just lying in her bed but her eyes were fully opened and the silence was already making her insane. She doesn’t want to get up because she might wake Lisa. “I’m sorry.” Jennie heard Lisa’s faint words in her sleep but her voice was kind of pleading. Jennie secretly glanced at Lisa who was now starting to move her limbs as if ahe was having a nightmare. “No...please.” Lisa cried weakly and Jennie grew concerned about her roommate. Lisa gasped as she opened her eyes in fear and jolted up, and Jennie immediately closed her eyes to pretend that she’s sleeping. Lisa wiped the sweat on her forehead while she was panting. After she felt that she’s already stable, she got off of her bed and went out of their room silently. Once Lisa closed the door, Jennie got up as well and put her slippers on to follow Lisa without her knowing. Jennie slowly opened the door and checked Lisa where she was heading. She saw her turn right where the stairs going to the rooftop was located. Jennie got confused, was Lisa sleepwalking? She slowly and carefully followed Lisa unnoticed. Once Jennie was on the rooftop, she saw Lisa sitting on the ledge. “Lisa?” Jennie called and Lisa turned to her, kind of startled. “Jennie? What are you doing here?” Lisa asked. “I was going to ask you the same thing.” Jennie chuckled as she walked closer to Lisa. “Mind if I join you?” She asked and Lisa shook her head so she sat beside her. “How brave of you to sit here.” She commented. “I like it here.” Lisa simply said. “But why are you still up? I woke you up, didn’t I?” “No, you didn’t. Don’t worry. I just couldn’t sleep is all. Maybe because I’m really nervous for the audition tomorrow. Well, later rather.” Jennie chuckled. “You’ll do great, I can tell already.” Lisa half-smiled as she sighed. “Nightmare?” Jennie asked. “Kind of.” Lisa answered. “What kind of a nightmare then?” Jennie asked again but Lisa gave her silence instead. “It’s okay if you don’t want to share, I sometimes don’t want to talk or share about my nightmares as well.” Jennie said. “I’ll share it with you, I don’t mind. I want to be more open with you starting today.” Lisa said as she looked and gave Jennie a smile. “I dreamed that my mom and dad won’t stop beating me and they won’t stop even if I apologize to them repeatedly. They kicked me out of our house and told me to never come back. They basically disowned me.” Lisa sadly smiled then sighed. Jennie was out of words and she didn’t actually know how to comfort Lisa with her dream. She didn’t expect that was the dream Lisa had, she thought it would be something as simple. “Well, it’s just a dream. It’s not real.” Was all Jennie that she could say to make Lisa feel better. “It’s actually more like a flashback.” Lisa weakly smiled. “They did kick me out.” “They did?!” Jennie said in shock. “What kind of parents are they?!” “The kind of parents nobody would even want to have, I guess.” Lisa chuckled softly as she looked away from Jennie. “But what happened?” “I did something that made them really angry.” Lisa returned her gaze to Jennie. “So you, you should obey your parents if you don’t want to end up like me. It’s hard living alone you know?” “Come on, you shouldn’t degrade yourself like that. You’re already ahead of me for being independent and facing the world alone.” Jennie said a matter-of-factly. “Did they kick you out because you broke their precious vase?” Jennie joked that made Lisa laugh, little did the latter know that her laughter just made Jennie’s heart flutter and she didn’t know why. Weird. “Yeah, something like that.” Lisa laughed and she looked back at the horizon. “Oh look, the sun is rising.” Lisa pointed at the sun excitedly that made Jennie look as well. “Wow.” Jennie said in awe. “This is actually my first time seeing the sun rise.” She shared. “I’m thankful that I followed you here to see this and hear something about a part of you as well.” Jennie softly said and Lisa secretly glanced at her and smiled. “Well, I’m glad you’re here to hear a part of my story.” Lisa softly said as she looked back at the horizon. “Want to go grab some coffee later?” “Sure.” *** When the sun was already up, the two had their coffee at the nearest café from their dorm but they didn’t stay longer because they had to prepare for their class. After they got their coffee and finished preparing, they waited for Rosé outside their door. Minutes later, Rosé went out from her dorm wearing a beautiful smile while she was walking and bouncing up and down. Jennie and Lisa looked at each other as they laughed and shook their heads at the sight of a very jolly Rosé. “You seem so happy today.” Lisa commented. “Why wouldn’t I be? It still feels like yesterday when Jisoo and I started dating.” Rosé said. “Your smile could really reach the sky, wow.” Jennie laughed. “Stop talking about how happy I am today. Let’s talk about the two of you, have you prepared for later?” Rosé asked. “I don’t think I need to prepare for later. It just comes out naturally.” Lisa confidently said with her head up high. “I didn’t even get enough sleep because I feel excited but nervous at the same time.” Jennie shared. “Are you serious? Girl, sleep is important to our health.” Rosé reminded. “Anyway, good luck to you guys. Looking forward to seeing you more often, especially you Jennie.” Rosé said. “Looking forward to see you too.” Jennie said to Rosé. And so the three walked their way to their school and Rosé was just being her usual and bubbly self and Jennie was almost getting used to the same thing that’s happening between them every morning, but she was thankful for that because Rosé would always come up with something new to share everyday. As for Lisa, she doesn’t know if she would feel embarrassed for her best friend for talking stupid things that was sometimes about her or if she would feel a little bit happy seeing Jennie smile from Rosé’s random stories. Seeing Jennie smile kind of making Lisa feel better and comfortable because it means to her that the new girl was enjoying her stay with them. *** Everyone who was auditioning was waiting outside, waiting for their turn to come inside the studio by calling their names. Some were practicing while the others were listening to the music as if familiarizing the choreography in their heads. Lisa was just sitting comfortably while observing while Jennie was sitting across her, nervous. Lisa noticed Jennie closed her eyes with a troubled expression painted on her face. She decided to sit beside her and nudge her lightly, trying not to startle her. Jennie opened her eyes and she looked at Lisa. “Hey. You okay?” Lisa asked. “Yeah, of course.” Jennie said but her eyes says otherwise. “You’re nervous aren’t you? Eyes can’t lie.” Lisa half-smiled. “Well, honestly, yes I’m nervous. I just want this day to be over and just sleep in my bed.” “How about show me your moves then? You could still practice while waiting for your name to be called.” “I’d rather just practice the choreography in my head.” Jennie nervously chuckled. “Come on, I won’t judge I promise.” But before Jennie could even say yes, Lisa’s name was called. “Oh, it’s my turn. Wish me luck!” Lisa stood up and walked inside. “Best of luck!” Jennie shouted. Some students gathered at the glass door when Lisa was already inside to watch her since she was known to be one of the best dancers in the university. Jennie got curious so she went to see Lisa’s audition too. She saw Lisa bowing her head while smiling and there were exchange of words between her and the chosen officers to judge the audition. When the music started, Lisa’s expression somehow changed, as if she was playing a character. A character that was so daring and sexy. The sound of a faint music could be heard outside of the studio. The students watching from the glass door had their jaws on the floor when Lisa swung her hips from left to right. Lisa looked to her right where the glass door was located since it was part of the choreography, fire was shown in her eyes while she was wearing that sexy smile. Jennie swore that she locked eyes with Lisa and she felt her heart hammering against her chest. And with that glimpse, swinging hips, fire in her eyes and sexy smile playing on her lips, Jennie had realize she was head over heels for Lisa.
