“Chaeng just texted me to meet them at the field so we could all walk home together.” Jisoo told Jennie while her eyes were glued on the screen of her phone and the latter just nodded.
It was just a short walk from where they were standing when Jisoo received a text from Rosé so it didn’t take long to reach the said place. When Rosé saw the two from where she was sitting, she stood up and wave big for them to see her. Jisoo recognized her so she waved back.
“Wait, where’s Lisa?” Jennie asked when the redhead’s presence was not there.
“Oh yeah, I didn’t notice she wasn’t with Chaeng.” Jisoo said. The two waited for Rosé to come to them and while they wait, Jennie scanned the field and she felt rage ran through her veins when she saw a familiar face with someone she was looking for. She sharply inhaled through her nose and she glanced at Jisoo with a fake smile to hide her real emotion she was feeling that moment.
“Wait for me here.” Jennie announced.
“Okay.” Jisoo shortly answered and Jennie stormed off to the direction where her rage started.
“Lisa!” Jennie said with fake enthusiasm and the redhead turned her head to her with a hint of shock in her eyes.
“Oh, Jennie, hey.” Lisa said with a nervous chuckle and she saw Jennie glare at Taehyung and she immediately got the idea. “E-everything’s fine, don’t worry.”
“Really? Sorry but I don’t think I can trust him after what he did to you.” Jennie said with authority in her voice as she crossed her arms across her chest. Taehyung avoided the two’s gaze and scratched his head in embarrassment. Lisa could feel the tension between the two and she could imagine the sparks of hatred from Jennie’s gaze at Taehyung.
“Um, we have to go home now, Taehyung. Thanks for today though.” Lisa said.
“S-sure. Take care.” Taehyung said and slightly bowed his head. Before he ran back to the field, he secretly glanced at Jennie and he immediately regretted that he did because it scared him and so he ran away from them before Jennie’s stare could kill him.
“Was he bothering you?” Jennie asked with a little bit hint of annoyance in her voice.
“We were just talking is all. And besides, we’re back to at least being friends.” Lisa smiled, but Jennie felt her heart was torn a bit but she stood tall to feign her confidence.
“Well, that’s...good to know.” Jennie forced a laugh and she walked back to Jisoo’s direction without waiting for Lisa, the latter became confused at Jennie’s strange behavior and she just walked behind her dumbfoundingly.
Meanwhile, Jisoo saw Jennie walking back to her, she was frowning while Lisa was tailing Jennie. Jisoo was surprised by Rosé’s back hug and a kiss on her cheek.
“Boo.” Rosé softly said in Jisoo’s ear and the latter almost jumped in astonishment but Jisoo’s eyes remained glued on Jennie so she looked at her too and noticed her unsual expression. “Whoa, what happened to her?” Rosé asked Jisoo.
“No idea.” Jisoo shortly replied and she saw Lisa walking behind Jennie. “Where was Lisa by the way?”
“She was talking to Taehyung.” Rosé said.
Jisoo was about to say something but Jennie finally arrived. “Let’s go.” Jennie bluntly said and continued walking without waiting for the three. Rosé and Jisoo was left dumbfounded and so they turned to Lisa with a questioned look.
“Did something happen?” Rosé asked Lisa and the latter just shrugged.
“She seemed upset.” Jisoo noticed.
“I was just having a small talk with Taehyung and then she barged into us like she’s warning Taehyung to stay away from me.” Lisa told them and Jisoo and Rosé looked at each other meaningfully and Lisa caught that. “She just cares like a normal friend would okay. Don’t make assumptions because we all know it’s not going to happen.” Lisa sternly said and stormed off, following Jennie.
The two exchanged confused looks and Jisoo sighed. “Should we give up?”
“A part of me says we shouldn’t but I think we should.” Rosé answered.

The following day, there was a meeting between the the Young Voices Club and Music Club at the auditorium. Jennie sat with Jisoo and Rosé as they wait for the meeting to start.
“What’s the meeting all about?” Jennie asked Jisoo.
“I think there’s going to be a collaboration between the two clubs for the upcoming College Day celebration just like last year.” Jisoo answered.
“Oh yeah, College Day is two weeks from now.” Rosé added.
“And how’s that going to work?”
“Since you’re in the Young Voices, then you’re going to sing while your partner from the other club plays an instrument while you sing.” Rosé answered.
“How are we going to choose our partner?”
“Well, last year we draw our partner from a bowl. I’m not sure how our partners would be picked this time.” Rosé shrugged.
Few seconds later, the president of both clubs arrived and they went up on stage and Seohyun clapped her hands thrice to get the attention of everyone in the auditorium.
“I suppose everyone’s attention is on us.” Seohyun started when she observed the silence in the auditorium and all eyes were on her. “Okay Taeyeon, please initiate.” She said as she turn to Taeyeon.
“You all probably have an idea what the meeting is all about. And just like every College Day, we have a theme which is ‘Originality’.” Taeyeon said.
“You can either make a cover of a song but you have to fit it with the theme or you can compose your own songs to perform at College Day.” Seohyun explained.
“We only have two weeks to prepare and we have faith in you that we can showcase our talents without fail.”
“And as for partners, we will let you choose who you want to be partnered with.” Seohyun said and smiled. “So we will now end the meeting for you to find a partner. We only have two weeks so please let us do our best okay? Good luck everyone.” Seohyun and Taeyeon bowed their heads and went off stage, leaving the other students in the auditorium.
Meanwhile, Jisoo and Rosé were beyond happy that the clubs’ presidents let them decide to choose their partners. Jisoo looked apologetically at Jennie who hasn’t chosen a partner yet.
“I’m sorry Jennie.” Jisoo said.
“Why are you even apologizing? It’s fine.” Jennie laughed. “I’m sure someone here doesn’t have a partner yet.”
The students slowly emptied the auditorium since some of them has already a partner and have classes to attend until only the three of them were left.
“I guess I won’t be performing.” Jennie sighed and she halfheartedly chuckled.
“We’re sorry Jennie. Maybe I can talk to Seohyun that we could be a trio if you’d like.” Rosé said in assurance.
“No, it’s fine really. There’s still next time.” Jennie said with a sad smile.
“We should get to our class.” Jisoo said and the three started walking out the auditorium. But before they even open the door, it flung open with a guy panting, out of breath.
“I’m late, am I?” Henry asked as he pant.
“Very late.” Jisoo answered.
“What did I miss?” Henry asked as he fixed his eyeglasses.
“College Day is coming in two weeks and they let us choose who we want as our partner.” Rosé said. “Oh wait, Jennie doesn’t have a partner yet. She can be your partner if that’s okay with you.”
“I’m fine with that.” Henry smiled and looked at Jennie.
“Great. But we have to get to class. Bye Henry.” Jisoo said and they walk passed Henry.
“Jennie!” Henry called and the three turned their heads to him. “Can we meet later at the field later to talk about what song should we perform?”
“Yeah sure.” Jennie answered.
“Okay, meet me at three.” Henry noted and Jennie just nodded and the three continued walking.
The three entered the room and they went to sit near Lisa who was playing on her phone.
“Hey.” Rosé casually said and nudged Lisa's arm lightly.
“Hi.” Lisa responded without taking her eyes off of her screen.
“Where were you when we had our club meeting?” Rosé asked.
“At the cafeteria, boredom makes me hungry.” Lisa said, eyes still focused on the screen.
Since Jisoo really liked playing games, she was about to ask Lisa what she was playing on her phone but she got interrupted by a sudden silence in the room. Their heads turn towards the door. Lisa on the other hand furrowed her brows in confusion to why everyone was silent and so she paused her game and gave her attention at the door. She felt her heart sank into her stomach and she almost dropped her phone when she saw a familiar face standing by the door. Their eyes met and she felt her body froze by her stare, she even lose the ability to say a word.
“Oh no.” Rosé whispered and Jennie leaned against her.
“What’s happening?” Jennie asked.
“Ugh...” Rosé stuttered and secretly nudged Lisa to say something. “L-Lisa knows her.” Jennie furrowed her brows and turned to Lisa who seemed to be frozen still on her seat.
“Who is she?” Jennie asked.
“T-Tzuyu is back.” Lisa stuttered.
