Chapter Six

Valkyrie POV

I don’t know how long I’m in the darkness alone, when I see a white ball of light I walk towards it and feel my eyes flutter open. I look around at the giant strange room I’m in. There is a beautiful flower wall paper on all the walls the bottom and top trimming is a sage green color. A beautiful woman with long black hair, a black strapless dress and bright red lip stick walks in the room with a book in her hand. “Oh my you’re awake.” She gushes running over to me. Who was this beautiful woman. I try to reach out to my wolf but I can’t feel her. “I’m Lady Bella do you remember what happened” she asks me softly sitting on the chair beside the bed. “N-no I don’t remember anything except running from the pack last night” I tell her. She looks at me with her stunning crystal blue eyes. They look so much like Liam’s. Oh my goddess Liam marked Sherrie. I start breaking down sobbing “my mate h-he marked someone while we were still bonded” I tell her she sits on the bed beside me rubbing circles around my back. “That makes sense dear I’m so sorry that you are going through this I’m going to help you” “what is your name dear” she asks me. I look at her feeling a little bit better. “My name is Valkyrie Walker, I’m 18” I tell her. “Well Valkyrie I have to tell you I found you in the river. you were unconscious and floating with the current in the river. Luckily I was walking by the river looking for some herbs when I saw you, I fished you out the river and brought you back here and Me and my butler Stefan have been taking care of you for the last two months, you’ve been in a coma we didn’t know if you would make it. ” she tells me softly. Two months I’ve been in a coma for two months. “Oh my goddess” I sit there in shock before looking at her “thank you for saving me I owe you my life” I tell her. “You owe me nothing sweet girl, I was once in your shoes I know how you feel. Maybe one day I will tell you my story, but for now we need to get you well again. You are more than welcome to stay here with me, I can help you come back from the trauma you’ve been through” she tells me looking deep in my soul. This might be a good thing. I feel connected with this woman even though technically this is the first time I’ve met her. “My wolf, my wolf valley I can’t feel her do you think sh-she is okay” I ask her tears threatening to spill over. “Oh dear you were in a coma for 2 months she could still need time to heal give her time” she tells me with a small smile.

Lady Bella takes me to the dining room and we sit at the table. “I bet you’re hungry Val, can I call you Val” she asks me “yes, I just want to thank you again for everything you’ve done for me” I tell her with gratitude. “ enough of that” she says sitting across from me at the table. A man comes in wearing an apron sitting three plates at the table and a picture of orange juice, he moves swiftly around the room before taking his seat beside Lady Bella “this here is Stefan my butler and best friend he’s been helping me take care of you” “Stefan this beautiful mysterious young lady is Valkyrie” Bella says “well hello Ms Valkyrie it’s great to put a name to your beautiful face” he says reaching his hand out. I take his hand and give it a shake his skin is cold and pale he has dark black hair and greyish eyes with a hint of red. “Stefan is a vampire Valkyrie, don’t worry though he’s perfectly tamed and doesn’t feed on human blood all that often” she tells me with a wink somehow sensing my nervousness. “h-hello Stefan it’s nice to meet you thank you for being so nice to someone you don’t even know” I tell him with a small smile. We finish eating in awkward silence after Stefan gets up to clear the table and lady Bella offers her hand to me. I reluctantly take it as she walks down the long corridor to a beautiful open room with huge bay windows it kind of reminds me of the forest in here. I still have no idea where I am hopefully I am in here to get some answers though. I’m grateful for everything she’s done I’m just still a little confused.

“Sit dear” Lady Bella tells me before sitting behind the big wooden desk. I take a seat in one of the chairs “Lady Bella I’m not trying to seem ungrateful because I am, I’m just wondering where I am, I’m still a bit confused” I admit looking down. She lets out a small chuckle “alright first call me Bella, Second you can ask me anything I’m here to help you Val, you are in my home Lecrow Manor, we are located just outside of the city limits at the edge of the forest in Bethel Maine.” She says matter of fact. We are about 80 miles out from my old pack. I guess by the startled look on my face she can tell that something’s wrong. “ they won’t be able to find you here love, I believe they think you’re dead for starters, I also have a spell placed around the manor. Eventually if you’d like to go into town with me once you’re well I can also put a spell in place to cover your scent” Bella tells me. “I don’t think I’m ready for that just yet” I tell her looking down. “We need to work on getting you healthy again Val, so that means plenty of rest, getting food in you and building up your confidence. I can even train you if you’d like” She tells me. My eyes light up I can feel the hope swelling in my chest. “Yes please I’d love to train, learn how to protect myself” I tell her. “Then so be it we will get you into shape my dear. let’s have you rest for a week and see how you feel after that, if you’re up to it we can start after that. I’m assuming your wolf we be waking soon. She probably just needs a little more time to recover from the rejection and betrayal” she spits out with venom in her voice. I wonder what happened to her but don’t wanna push her to tell me after she’s done everything she has and is for me. “I’m not gonna go into much details yet in due time I will tell you my story but for now what I will tell you is, I was the Luna of a pack once, my mate like yours was a senseless piece of trash, he marked me and we were happy for a bit but then he rejected me and cast me out of the pack as another Luna and was appointed in my place, but Val I made something out of myself and so will you” she tells me. No wonder she relates to me so well she’s been through a horrible thing the betrayal on the mate bond the deserved far worse than what they put us through. “I wanted to ask you what you wanted out of life.” She asks with a genuinely curious look on her face. What do I want out of life most of all. I look up into her eyes. My own twinkle with mischief and rage the burning fire in my stomach twisting just thinking about it “Revenge” I tell her. Her lips pull up in a smile “Revenge is bitter sweet but you shall get it my girl” Bella tells me.
