Chapter Five

King Landon POV

“We leave tomorrow for the alpha and Luna ceremony Rising Moon pack.” Mark says. “Yes, we also have to see if Thomas has any information for us , hopefully we can figure out what is going on with these transactions on the packs finances and hopefully find the missing girls if they are connected” I tell him. About 5 years ago we got whiff of a trafficking operation.

Rising moon pack has had large transactions being deposited in their accounts around the same time as some of these young women have gone missing and we have reason to believe they are connected so we sent in one of our men. A strong warrior of the royal Lycan guard named Thomas. Thomas has been undercover and has been feeding us information about his finding. As the Lycan king I have to oversee the alpha and Luna ceremony hoping I’ll find evidence of them being involved in the trafficking so we can put this investigation behind us and find these missing girls.

The next day we load up onto the jet to take the 3 hour flight to rising moon. The flight attendant comes by to take our drink orders “I’ll have a scotch thank you Vanessa” I tell her “make that two” mark says. “ So how do you want to play this”he asks “ just act normal we are there for an alpha and luna ceremony, I don’t want them getting any whiffs about us snooping around. It would not only put the investigation in danger but Thomas to” I tell him as Vanessa puts our drinks on the table between us. “Anything else I can get for you guys” she asks pushing her cleavage together and looking at me seductively. “No vanessa that will be all” I roll my eyes this girl just doesn’t quit. I took over As Lycan king 4 years ago when I was 21. I’ve looked everywhere for my mate, my queen and haven’t had any luck. I’m no prude I’ve slept with my fair share of women but I’m not gonna have anyone rule by my side except my mate.

“We are here” mark announces i must have been lost in thought about finding my mate.We make our way off the plane into the black suv waiting for us. It’s a short drive into the pack territory it’s a relatively small pack, we pull up to the big packhouse and see the alpha and Luna are on the steps to greet us. Mark and I make our way up the steps to greet them with a few trusted warriors walking up behind us. “King Landon welcome to rising moon so glad you could make it” Alpha Brad says shaking my hand and baring his neck in submission beside him his Luna does the same. “Welcome to our pack King Landon” she says with a fake smile. A blonde young woman maybe 19 stood behind them with a provocative dress on that left nothing to the imagination. She was looking at me like she wanted to rip my clothes off. “This is our daughter Lylith” Brad tells me. “ King Landon so pleased you could make it” she says grabbing my arm. I shrug her off not interested in the slightest.

Luna Karen goes on to tell us that her son and his mate are getting ready for the ceremony as it’ll be in 2 hours. “That is fine if you could have someone show us to our rooms that would be great, we would like to freshen up” “yes of course” alpha Brad says his eyes glazing over and a young she wolf who looked about 17 came to take us to our rooms baring her neck in submission “right this way king” she says and walking up a flight of stairs. “This one is yours king here is your key and the one beside is yours royal beta and here are your keys” she tells us looking down at the floor. She looks malnourished and scared. “Are you okay Sandy is it” I ask her. “Oh yes King I must finish setting up for the ceremony” she says before bowing and running off down the stairs. I look over at my beta to see his eyes glued to the girl. “ what is it” I ask him “idk I just feel drawn to her for some reason it’s nothing probably because she looks so fragile and malnourished” he tells me. “We need to set up a meeting point before the ceremony with Thomas away from prying eyes and ears, we could say we are going for a run” I tell him. “We should go now the ceremony starts soon” he says.

We make our way to the forest careful not to bump into anyone as the Lycan king I have the ability to mind link any body no matter the pack seeing as Thomas had to join rising moon to gain their trust. I mindlink Thomas telling him to meet us in the forest. We walk into the forest and strip down shifting into our beast running deep enough that nobody will see or hear us. Shifting back putting on our clothes. A few minutes later Thomas comes shifting back to his human form. “Thomas it’s great to see you what have you got for me” I ask shaking his hand. “King Landon they are definitely involved in the trafficking. They have women coming in and out disguised as omegas, that match up with the transactions. I managed to follow one of the guards Steve when he was dropping one of them off with a buyer. I have pictures and evidence but I don’t think we should expose them yet this is much bigger than we realized originally” he reports. “Okay good work I agree we won’t do anything to jeopardize the investigation, I’ll need the evidence. We will continue monitoring and trying to find everything we can before we take our next steps we don’t want to spook them off”I tell him. We make our way back to the pack house going our separate ways going to get ready for the ceremony. The hour flies by and everyone is gathered around at the back of the pack house. Ready for the ceremony to start when the alpha comes onto the stage. “Everyone let me just thank king Landon and royal beta mark for being here with us to celebrate the occasion” Brad says a round of applause around the crowd. “ I would like to start by saying just how proud I am of my son Liam Ford” Liam walks onto the stage and the crowd cheers. “Liam do you vow to protect this pack with your life, guide them, and be fair and just” “ I vow to do” he says cutting his palm passing the knife to his father who does the same they mix their blood and the power transfer is complete. “Rising moon your new alpha Liam ford” cheers abrupt from the crowd. “Sherrie please come up here darling” a blonde woman in a pink gown her breast popping out with a high slit walks onto the stage. “I’d like to announce that I’ve met my mate, and we will be doing the marking ceremony right now as well” he says with a smirky smile. Something sinister behind it. “Woooo” “mark her” “You go alpha” the crowd starts shouting. He looks deep in her eyes biting into her neck. All of a sudden I get the smell of this amazing scent it’s faint like it’s been gone awhile but it’s there I’m searching around the room frantically my beast trying to claw its way out in my head “mate mate I smell her” the scent is to faint I know she’s already gone, but I will not stop till I find her.
