Chapter 1
"Well, this is is." I said as I drop my bags and suitcase on the floor of my new apartment.
The interior was absolutely gorgeous with its modern and rustic touch. It had two huge windows on one side of it which allowed me to take in the beautiful New York atmosphere.
The inside of the apartment was fully furnished which made my job of decorating a whole lot easier. The second floor of my apartment was supposed to have 3 bedrooms so I decided to check those out a little bit later.
I was extremely pleased with my new home considering how it cost a fortune. It was totally worth it.
After closing and locking the door behind me, I plopped down onto the 'L' shaped couch that was in the middle of the room. I would worry about unpacking later. Right now, all I wanted to do was sl-
I was cut off when I heard knocking at my door.
I slowly got up and rubbed my eyes which were about to shut. Then I walked over to the door and looked through the peep hole. It was a girl with long, brown hair. She seemed harmless enough so I decided to open the door.
"Can I he-"
"Hi there!" the girl said, interrupting me. "My name is Quinn Faye. What's yours?"
I smiled at how friendly she was and replied with, "Hi Quinn, my name's Claire." and a small wave. Quinn waved back.
"Welcome to the Square Point family!" she beamed.
Square Point was the name of the apartments. I liked how she said "family".
"Thanks, Quinn. Do you mind me calling you that?" I asked her.
"Of course!" she said with a smile. "I brought you a hamper and some wine since I didn't think you would like whisky. Unless I'm wrong, of course." she rambled.
"No, no. Wine's fine. Trust me when I say that I really wasn't expecting anything from anyone. You really didn't need to-"
"Don't be silly, Claire! Everyone who moves into Square Point is given a welcoming present." she said cutting me off, again. I didn't mind though.
"Well, that was very sweet of you. Thank you." I said with a smile.
"Well Claire, it was nice meeting you but I'm afraid I have to go now." Quinn said with a crooked smile.
"Likewise. We'll see each other again though, right?" I asked.
"Of course you will, silly. We're neighbours!" she said with a chuckle.
"Oh!" I said with a laugh. "I didn't know that."
"Well, now you do. See you around, Claire." Quinn said before walking into her apartment which was next door.
"Good job Claire. You've made a new friend." my self-conscious said.
"I guess I have."
